Again!!!! First Skylab, now this?? :)

Yes Skylab . That was in the early hours of the 12th of July, 1979, Skylab crashed on WA's south east coast, scattering debris across the Nullarbor and the eastern goldfields and causing a worldwide sensation. Wonder where this one will land ?? China's first space station launched in 2011 and was supposed to wind up in the Pacific Ocean. Now it's anyone's guess where the thing will land. On us most likely.
:(

Astronomer captures image of China's out-of-control Tiangong-1 streaking across the sky as experts scramble to figure out where it will land

An astronomer managed to capture China's out-of-control space station as it hurtles closer to hitting the earth's surface. The stunning image shows the Tiangong-1 station crossing in front of some of the brightest known constellations earlier this month. Astronomer Gianluca Masi, who is part of the Virtual Telescope Project, shot the photo of the spacecraft in Rome on March 9.

I wonder if the Chinese will demand the parts , that do fall back to Earth, be handed over like when Skylab crashed in Australia the USA demanded we hand over the pieces , we refused.

Why don't the Chinese use central Autralia as an impact site like we do?

That is safer for everyone and Australia gets free museum material.

1. If it lands in Australia it will land in Alice Springs. Nobody lives there.

2. August is a Tasmanian not an Australian.

3. Australia is a continent not a country.

4. Latest is it might land in Michigan and hit the family farm.

23,730 people live in Alice Springs not counting the wandering Aborigines and tourists.

Fading day by day.

Haha,
My response is....
1. My first response was to tell you of the huge population, but on second thoughts. It is a pretty small target given the odds.

2. Sorry August, you know we all love you...but....
It is a little known fact that this fellow was born in Tasmania.
And with the obvious exception to the exceptional August, it is a well known mainland fact that most Taswegians
are born with extra appendages.

3. Australia is not simply defined as a Continent or a Country.
Historians world wide have now come to accept that references to places like, "Utopia", "Heaven on Earth", and "Gods own Country" were in fact referring to Australia. Oh yes, probably Atlantis too.

4. Um mm, can't think of a smart Alec comment about Michigan, and besides, I suspect CB will nail me to a cross if I try loll :) . So......Better Michigan than Alice!!
