Hi Auggie, thanks for reminding me of the Kaikoura documentary that I watched avidly with my family all those years ago ... I remember it being a remarkably unpolished natural documentary that seemed at the time would open the flood-doors of what we now call uncensored disclosure of what they already knew... but of course just like all of the rest of these 'real possibility events' that would afford the chance of serious scientific examination by the authorities... it was branded with the very popular name of 'Venus' and summarily brushed under the carpet by the powers that matter.
... But a clue that even the then' normally conservatively conforming editors of a leading British Propaganda Rags weren't really satisfied with the usual nonchalant dismissal ....

Following the broadcasting of the film by the B.B.C. and the subsequent investigation, the Daily Telegraph (U.K. newspaper – noted for business-like and scientific observations) remarked:

“The scientist who suggested that all (on the aircraft) were seeing Venus on a particularly bright night can be safely consigned to Bedlam (insane asylum)![/QUOTE]

Yep!... Kaikoura, that's a good one.

Cheers Auggie.

One person said it was the reflection of their cabbage leaves in the moonlight and that was accepted at the time as a valid explanation ??
