THE ABSENCE OF EVIDENCE

It's great to believe- why not...

I did for many years until I started to look at it without the fantasy glasses on. I had to take mine off for a while to see what I was really looking at regarding the so called evidence. It seamed to be the logical thing to do due to the frustration of the lack of REAL proof/ evidence after (in my case) 40+ years of faith, hope & fantasy! Now they are off all the time. But I haven't thrown them away YET

For all the years us homosapiens have existed on this planet; not one piece of evidence has ever been submitted that would make a- <now skeptical> like my good self think again about ufos/ aliens & the supernatural in general. You know: <REAL EVIDENCE> -- not a story told by someone we should believe (via some form of lucrative media) because of who they are/ their position in life etc!> believe what you're told or don't kinda thing.

I'm here to find the truth/ real evidence of the supernatural in all it's diverse shapes & forms. Why are you here? Due to my opinions & approach; this is a question that's been asked of me many times over the years.

<the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence> is a phrase well used in discussions regarding ufos/ aliens & the supernatural. If you're here to try & find the truth via debate regarding ufos, as am I, then isn't it about time to re-evaluate this well used phrase? What needs to happen or not happen or how long will it take, 10/100 years before the well used phrase will be: <the absence of evidence can only mean evidence of absence>?

By all means keep the fantasy glasses on when reading through this thread. But out of respect for different opinions & approaches at least take one lens out for some kinda balance. See how it goes;)

Peace.

dej...

This is my first post and I am trying to stay busy as I am one of the few that didn't get hurt <much> by Hurricane Harvey (I'm in Houston). I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post, i.e., before the QUOTE or after. I hope I'm in the right place. Now....I was thinking....

We might want to think about "lack of evidence" like this: If they can come from light years away, and this was many hundreds of years ago, don't you think they might have the technology to somewhat "cloak" themselves so we don't see them? And as far as the downed UFOs, well, we've seen our fair share of those. There are probably many more, we just don't hear about them unless they crash in our front yards. And I'm sure many were sworn to secrecy. I don't use the word "were" lightly because the government is now letting it all out. Ancient Aliens, for one, isn't pulling any punches anymore.

Can you talk a little about what it looked like..? I don't recall you mentioning this before.

It was a very shiney fast moving object flying very high.....I couldn't really tell. Which directions do satellites fly?....do they go east to west?

I was thinking it was a MiG-25 doing a border patrol.....or possibly a satellite.

Apparently they can fly just about any direction..

Sounds like it might have been some type of plane or satellite.
I have seen numerous satellites over the years and a few whitish objects I couldn't identify.

I was at Mount Everest base camp in Tibet at 17,000 feet. I'd say it was a MiG-25 as it was much higher than most aircraft and its also faster than most.

That's assuming it wasn't a satellite.....my vision was a little foggy due to altitude.

I'm impressed that you were on Everest....did you happen to spot any Yetis...?

My friend and I heard a very strange noise and we thought it was an animal on two feet.....but it turned out to be a yak.

I wonder how many of these sightings are affected by altitude sickness.

When I was in the Andes mountains in both Columbia and Chile I heard some strange sounds at night, I'm sure it's just the local animals but the only night I spent in the mountains in Chile I heard something that really gave me the creeps, I didn't sleep that night...

I don't remember hearing anything at night....but I'm never going to see stars like that again.

How am I not to think you're only coming here to to come here to create problems with a reply like that?

Good post, and since it did involve Hillary and Podesta, whom are two people I'd trust about as much I'd trust Charles Manson, it is quite likely this is/was intentional in my view.

I liked the Nicap link BTW, and then there's this report as well which I liked because I know the area, and of course there were/are still ICBM's in the wheat fields of Montana.
TARGETING SYSTEM TAMPERED WITH

The Convair F-106 Delta Dart was a supersonic, all-weather delta wing interceptor aircraft of the United States Air Force from the 1960s through 1988. It was designed from the ground up as an Interceptor and nothing but an interceptor.

If F-106's out of nearby Great Falls couldn't catch sight of the UFO then no other plane besides possibly a Lockheed SR-71 could have. To my knowledge that was the only plane ever made that could fly faster than the F-106 that wasn't rocket powered like the X-15, and which isn't even really an airplane so much as a sub orbital vehicle. The Convair F-106 delta darts were typically armed with nuclear tipped missiles for interception of Soviet bomber streams, and had a top speed in excess of Mach 2, which very few aircraft have ever achieved. Referred to as the ultimate interceptor and the Cadillac of jet fighters. It was a sad day for me when they finally retired the last survivors.

Ya know...seeing a UFO or even a squadron of them is one thing, but being a 12 year old on a military base and have one of these thunder over you while at an airshow in July and then to have it break the sound barrier with a thunderous boom is an experience I will treasure till the day I die. Poor damned kids today...so screwed out of the little joys in life.

No doubt whilst traveling in South America the sight of the stars was amazing...:)
