"But it will be worse than before, because, with a second eviction on record, the chances of finding another landlord to take us in will be slim to none."

Second eviction? Does he mean just in 2018? This is at least the 4th or 5th in the past 2 or 3 years.

I saw his begging email yesterday and thought wow, he seems remarkably unconcerned, given that he is in the process of being evicted, and his wife is about to have surgery.

Today's begging email seemed a little more like what I expected - oh my god the end is at hand, and how I suffer, but if you give me money maybe it will fix things. It's my only hope!

I know I probably shouldn't but I feel bad for him and his wife if it truly has come to this. I don't think anyone wants to see them living on the streets. But surely they could have made some choices to avoid that. I realize people who pursue careers as creatives or freelancers often are impoverished in their old age, and frequently health care costs are a big part of that. But I think there have been other forces at work, and other contributing decisions toward this sorry outcome, in the case of the Steinbergs.

I am actually embarrassed for Ryan Sprague, appearing on the latest Paracast. Gene is babbling away about old American TV shows, as if this is of interest to anyone. Ryan is doing his best to stay on the same level, the consummate professional. Now Gene is talking about gargling. Wow, this is really going downhill fast. Good Lord! THIS is the gold standard? Now Gene is talking about Supergirl on TV. Can you believe this? Evidently, Gene has plenty of time to watch TV. Ryan can respond to any comment, no matter how inane. Now Gene is talking about some old old musical. Now Gene is talking about old 1950's sci-fi movies. And people are paying to listen to this? Ah, time to bring up the X Files and Independence Day movie nostalgia. Goggs just said that a crazy idea just popped into his head. THAT I CAN BELIEVE!!! Everyone! This has nothing to do with Gene's personal life. If I came upon this show on YOUTUBE, I would be gone by now. Unbelievable. An old fart talking about times long long gone with Ryan trying to build off Gene's babbling with Goggs making a comment every 20 minutes. Time to drop this turkey.

what does this even have to do with UFOs?

You assume that Gene is telling the truth. I do not make that assumption. Gene is ALWAYS on the verge of total destruction and destitution. After awhile, you tend to roll your eyes, shake your head and actually laugh.

Well you do have a point. We do know the eviction is a real possibility in this case but yes, you do indeed have a point.

Good point. I notice a couple of things in the way he words things, and also the ridiculous premise he sets himself up for in his begging.

1 - He mentions the "three weeks he spent in cheap motels", where even the dirt cheapest is about $50 - which comes out to about $1000 he was able to drop on lodging after he was evicted. That doesn't add up.

2 - He mentioned trying to find a 'affordable apartment in a decent neighborhood' in his postings - when he didn't have a home! He mentioned him and his wife seeing some really nice apartments and manufactured homes in nice neighborhoods before in that situation. How ridiculous is that, that he is neighborhood judging in that situation? If you have a roof over your head and bullets aren't coming through your door, that should be the standard in that situation. Beggars apparently can be choosers.

3- Among all of this he was asking for money for car insurance as well as a new web server. When one of the people who have exposed this, played Gene for a fool offering him money from an 'inheritance', Gene replied, and I quote "how is low five figures to start?" I mean are you serious?! See:
SchemeGeneRC on Twitter

4 - Notice the wording in his tweets. Lots of "may be forced" and "may not have" - because he already knows what his next scheme is. It's the same one he's been doing. He'll find another place that will take him without checking his past, or use someone else's name, pay the security deposit and whatever is required to get him in the door - and then not pay the rent until they either arm ring him for the least amount possible he can get away with to stay another month - or they kick him out and do it all over again.

This has been his play since the beginning and what he'll likely continue to do. No one gets evicted after three months unless they flat out have decided they're not going to pay for rent, and that's what he's done.

Dear Gene,

I understand that you have a lot of technical ability and knowledge. I wanted to show you what you could have accumulated if you had used that ability and knowledge to work a 9 to 5 job for 30 years as I did. No, it was not fun and the job did not express my "inner rebel who must run free", but my corporate life allowed me to retire for good at 54 and live like this. I share this because it is obvious that you really like tropical lovely RENTED apartment complexes far beyond your means. Maybe in your next life, you could apply yourself to a full time job, as most people do, and accumulate the money you would need in your old age. I doubt I ever had more knowledge or ability than you, but perhaps I had a lot more self-discipline and an ability to tolerate a mundane job (often in a cubicle), knowing that life is hard and this was a good way to accumulate some of the goodies to keep food on the table and a roof over my head in old age. I suppose I am gloating. My point to you and YOUNG people here is that decisions have consequences. 010.JPG 003.JPG Didn't you think you would ever get old? Didn't you ever read the story of the Ants Versus the Lazy Grasshopper? 013.JPG DSC06124.JPG DSC06128.JPG Blessings to you.

People have been mystified that Gene rents luxurious apartments in gorgeously landscaped upscale apartment complexes when he obviously cannot afford them. I cannot read Gene's mind, thank God, because I suspect it would drive me insane. However, I have a theory. Suppose you are the kind of person that has no intention of honoring any contract you sign. You know upfront that you will NOT pay rent on any place you legally rent. You expect to live there for free regardless of what the landlord may expect. Well, if you aren't going to pay ANY rent, why not rent some place that is truly beyond your means? After all, what difference does it make since you do not intend to pay any rent! So why rent a run down dump (and refuse to pay rent) when you could rent a gorgeous apartment (and refuse to pay rent). Therefore, as a life style this makes perfect sense. If you have no intention to pay rent to ANYONE, you might as well go for the most luxurious apartment complex you can find. If you are going to be evicted in a few months, why not be evicted from a gorgeous apartment rather than a dump? 13537541_10154267589416585_958958547256372645_n.jpg

Too much clutter in garden. You need to un-retire and work with it.
