Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

A few more paracast members have come here recently so I guess Gene felt it necessary to post this yesterday...Shows me his adolescent behaviour, if he was a responsible forum owner and responsible man he wouldn't be dealing with the problems he has, that he also wants to blame everyone else for...His problems are self created and no one else can be blamed but him...

Yes this is a much friendlier forum than his, because we do not have an arse like him here peddling and ripping off people...The pages in this thread speak the truth from honest people...Rant over lol...

As I have said elsewhere, the reason I left that forum was his horrendously incompetent management of it. His begging was easy enough for me to avoid, since his messages were going into the spam folder at a throw-away email address. I generally ignored him, and participated there because of the people there that I liked. Eventually it became painfully obvious he was running the place irresponsibly, to be polite about it, and I tried to close my account. I just wanted to go away. You can't do that. I asked publicly for my account to be closed. He deleted the request. I contacted him directly, asked politely for him to close my account. He blew me off. I then threatened to go to JV's site and post some facts. The chickenshit banned me for "threatening an admin" or some such bullshit. I wasn't bluffing.

I had enough current information at that time to get him tossed off his forum platform for TOS violations. I almost wish I had, now that I know all about his slimy dealings and insufferable behavior over the years. I didn't do it, mainly out of respect for the good people there, Chris O'Brien among them. That, and by then it would have just been retribution and I'm not really into that.

The guy is an energy suck, among other things.

I was a member of Alien-UFOs which changed to AlienHub since 2010, the forum owners sold it and it became horribly mismanaged and we lost good members, then those previous owners bought it back but did nothing to bring life back into it, lost many others including myself until they shut down the site without any notice...

It's painfully obvious the mismanagement going on there with Gene and for many years which I didn't know about until recently...The begging is astonishing to me though, I still haven't wrapped my head around that, going back years too...

I have sparred with Steinberg over the past few years. It gets tiresome when he deletes your posts or bans you for disagreeing with him. The bottom line is this... the man doesn’t want to earn his keep. He would rather beg and cry for others to support him instead.

When David Biedny left the Paracast, I contacted him by e-mail. I wanted to know what was truly going on. Biedny said he was tired of Steinberg begging him and the guest on the show for money. I also contacted a few guests and got the same reply. Steinberg has no shame in this regard.

This next story explains everything you need to know about Steinberg. I once e-mailed him and asked him this. If he is such an expert on Apple products, why didn’t he get a job at an Apple store. His reply was to berate me. Working a retail job at Apple was beneath him, he said. He also said he was too old. I told him that if it was between being out on the street or working retail, I know what my choice would be.

I can tell you that Chris O’Brien got fed up with Steinberg’s shenanigans and he left as well. Chris wasn’t getting paid anything. Chris was doing all the work. He lined up guests while Steinberg was busy noodling behind the keyboard. I joined the Paracast close to 12 years ago. A great many members left because of Steinberg’s antics and his constant asking for money.

I don’t blame anyone who got fed up and dropped out. The Paracast is a former shell of a podcast from years past.

We've been here a couple years and growing...I started this place almost a year before AlienHub shut down, unannounced to the members, not knowing at the time that was going to happen...

Its Old only in that he has been doing this for a long time, is still doing it now.
Its neither false or exaggerated, the reality is damning enough
What may have started small has swelled into a large chorus of people who can see what hes been doing.

Its a matter of public record hes ripped off landlord after landlord, who themselves rely on that rental income to pay their bills.

Note that Gene Steinberg has 7 judgments, or more, entered against him, just in Arizona totaling almost $50,000. These don't even include eviction orders, which probably puts his total judgment count up to around a dozen or so:

This isnt old news, its a current and long running scam. I actually think he gets an endorphine rush from donations

What I always found curious was over the years that Steinberg claimed he was destitute, both the Paracast and his Tech Night Owl websites have never gone down once. There was always money for computer gear. It made me wonder what sort of scam was being run.

Hmmm, I can believe Gene does need the donation money, given the real evictions. And yet... I still find myself questioning what he is doing with his income, again given those evictions. Maybe he hoards the cash and takes risks with paying his landlords late... risks that occasionally blow up in his face.

I think in his latest email he is back to saying he has to get the money to pay for car insurance; I thought he just paid that not so long ago. Guess he could've paid late and now a bill there has come due again, who knows. I'm also puzzled by him getting temporary registration for his car, that isn't how that's supposed to work, to my knowledge. Oh well.

I do wish his enablers on Facebook would pay more attention and wise up a little. People who appear to not be able to afford it are giving him money, as well as cheering him on. Cheering for a guy whose idea of fighting the good fight is ripping off his landlords.

I think that's legit. I think you can get a temporary registration if it needs to be repaired before a registration can be paid and provided. In California it was 30 days but could be renewed more than once but more than 1-2 times I believe you have to get non-operational "permit"?

Truth isn't defamation, that's what he doesn't get. He's got nearly a dozen civil judgments against him on record, that we know about. He's never once mentioned any sort of stable job history, just that once upon a time he hung around with Jim Mosely and worked in a radio station - and wrote rudimentary how-to books for Mac users who didn't know how to use AOL in the 90s.

Pointing out he's a deadbeat who rips people out of money and services, because he made a choice not to make a living is not defamation, it's fact.

If you ever read the posts from the backers of Steinberg on the Paracast, most of them don’t have a pot to pee in. They are 100% behind Steinberg until they have to open their wallets. It seems like a good portion of these people are jobless and penniless and spend their waking hours talking about UFOs and aliens.

I would never try to guess what Steinberg is truly up to. He always states that he and his wife are not eligible for state assistance. I find that hard to believe. Try to remember, this begging for money has gone on for a dozen years or so. There is never one word about repaying anyone for their generosity. What does it tell you that the previous two co-hosts left in disgust? Steinberg has a son who lives in Spain. Perhaps he is one of the few wise people who stay clear of his father’s antics.

To be fair, there's not many left. If you look at the thread from last week's show, there's about 30 posts, but they're coming from about the same six people - including Gene and this J Randall Murphy guy who I assume is basically the co-host now. It's a pretty slow moving forum which has gotten more and more barren over time.

PS - Throw in Don Ecker I noticed, who's usually a backup co-host. You literally have about half the active forum users made up of the people that host the show.

I'm guessing that once he requests financial assistance all those judgements against him is going to come to light, I'm sure there will be some garnishments but this is money he owes. Any job that doesn't curtail a paycheck and disability and what not allows him to operate below the radar.

Yeah someone here or elsewhere said temporary registration is used during title transfers, if you fail emissions testing and are going to seek remedy, and sounds like you have named another case. But I believe Gene is just somehow using it to avoid paying for a regular registration. I think.

Doesn't sound like a good long term strategy if true. But, one problem at a time, I guess.

It’s true. Long time posters have dropped by the wayside. The weekly shows are so boring that very few people comment about them these days.
