People have tried this sort of thing before.
He always has an excuse as to why these sorts of suggested properties are not suitable (he won't usually clarify why though) - that's if he doesn't outright ignore the suggestion.
There's also the possibility that he could weave such a gesture into one of his tales of internet persecution. - "The pack of haters have now starting sending me details of properties that they are trying to rent in my name/my wife's name, the online haters are now contacting property owners and turning them against me".
It's pretty clear he is not interested in solving his accommodation problem by living within his means.
He just wants people to send him money. That is all he will accept.
Indeed even if you offered to pay his rent for him directly I doubt he would want that. He wants to get the money in his own hands so he can burn it or buy a new car or do whatever the hell it is he does with it.
Remember people have sent him money (in some cases quite a lot) and he still didn't pay his rent with it. He still got evicted.
Anyone trying to help him directly should understand that by now.
In fact the only way to help him is to send him nothing and call him out for his constant begging so that others don't get conned.
Great post.
I'm thinking at this point Steinberg used this classic George Carlin bit as a life model:
