So my prediction is that tomorrow we will see another message from Gene saying that he has to pay the motel bill and he only has a few hours left to pay before he gets kicked out. There may be parts recycled from past messages as Gene seems to have become lazy by even his own very low standards. Basic format will be exactly the same.

Gene's thought process seems to be:

"This isn't working. So I need to keep doing exactly the same thing even more."

or

"This e-begging is really annoying people. Maybe the problem is I'm not doing it often enough."

When Steinberg says he knew someone or 'knew him slightly', what he is saying is that he was in the same room as that person and he got to shake his hand. By no means was he a personal friend.

thats way better.
the only person he really seemed to be a friend of is jim moseley, because both had pretty similar behaviour

The two people that Steinberg was relatively close to were Jim Moseley and Tim Beckley. Steinberg probably was envious of Moseley because Moseley inherited a large trust fund when he was a young man and never had to work a real job his entire life.

I don't know - I'm sure I've heard him talk like he knew him (unless I'm misremembering it) but as standingstones said that doesn't mean he actually did. If we've learned anything it is that you can't take what Gene says as being factual.

Hi,

I received an annual renewal for The Tech Night Owl LIVE+ this morning, enough to increase my PayPal balance to $58.

As usual, the motel expects payment by 11 AM Arizona time to extend our stay.

For now, I’m paying for a day or two at a time at the motel, usually at the last minute. These deadlines are obviously stressful.

Getting around is difficult. The room is small and cluttered with suitcases and cartons, and I tripped while walking past a suitcase last Thursday. I ended up with a swollen knee, and it’s not easy to get around, though I’m feeling a little better today.

You don’t want to hear what I said when this happened.

All and all it’s a miserable existence.

Can you help us pay the motel and put away more money for an apartment?

That's terrible. That means there is still at least one sucker out there who is paying for this garbage or they have forgotten they have an autorenew.

Looks like a new storyline is being developed here. Even though all of Gene's "meagre" possessions are in storage (which they will be when time comes to pay that bill) it seems they are also in his motel room. Now Gene has injured his knee. I suspect this knee problem will persist and end up requiring expensive medical treatment which Gene can't afford.

Most likely "Kerching!!!" - He can now open a new begging storyline and maybe even try to blackmail the motel by claiming they are somehow responsible. That said it is most likely that nothing even actually happened and it is all a fabrication.

Yes I'm sure it is the way Gene describes it. Ofcourse when you are getting updates from a pathological liar it is hard to know how much of this is real.

Now he wants money for both. Here's some help. Use some of that $2800 social security you get (which is more than many working people) and pay for both.

He may have decided to restrict his list to those who have donated or have helped him out in the past via subscribing to the Paracast Plus or the Tech Night Owl Plus.

I am 8 months into my Paracast plus membership that I paid for annually.I was receiving his missives until this thread took off and I don't believe in coincidences.

Oh dear! A swollen knee. I guess he needs some sort of new dilemma to milk more money out of his listeners.

It’s still the same old cut and paste plea over on Facebook. By the way, PayPal is the best way to send money and it will only cost you an extra 1%. Gee, thanks Gene!

I haven't seen one since August 6, according to my inbox.

I have never donated; I think there's a theory out that he's now targeting people who've given before.

Gene seems to have done everything in his power to not work at all, never mind "long and hard".

As if more proof that he is a liar perpetrating a fraud on everybody he begs for donations...

Every day or two he complains that he needs to pay for more time at the motel and is broke. This has been going on for at least a month and a half. We know from his bankruptcy filing he gets around $2400 a month in social security between him and his wife. At no time in this month and a half of being broke every day does he mention this $2400 we know he has gotten at least once and maybe twice during this period. Every day he tells us he is broke and can't pay. I think this alone proves beyond any reasonable doubt that he a liar and a fraud.
