So we have the second message of the day for today:

Sunday afternoon in Arizona!

Hi,

I paid the motel for one more day.

I have less than two dollars in my pocket, and not much more in my PayPal account.

When it comes to food and such, we’re pretty much empty.

As I said earlier today, I’ll turn 73 in one week, on September 9th. This is no way to grow old.

Are you able to help me survive for a few more days?

I welcome your subscription to our premium packages for the two radio shows, The Paracast+ and The Tech Night Owl+.

Or, you can send me a donation, please go to: Send Money, Pay Online or Set Up a Merchant Account - PayPal, login and use the Send to friends and family option. Enter my email address, gene@technightowl.com, and click or tap Next to continue the transaction.

I can also accept donations through Facebook Messenger and Apple Pay Cash via the Messages app.

If you’re not able to send a donation, feel free to forward this message to someone who might assist.

If you have any questions about my living situation, please let me know.

I believe that Gene has now sent 4 emails in 3 days. If I thought he could be believed, I'd say he was showing he's desperate. But who knows what is really motivating him.

He still thinks an upgraded Paracast website will turn it all around for him. I have yet to see anyone agreeing with this.

This recent burst of emails have a lot to say about Gene's dissatisfaction with his current state, but it also sounds like he's planning to just persist in the behaviors that put him in that state.

But all this, of course, has been going on for years. And I believe it will keep going on so long as Gene himself is around.

Hmmm look he still claims to be giving away Ryan Sprague's book if you buy a five-year Paracast+ membership:
'Thanks to Ryan Sprague, we are providing a free autographed copy of his latest book, “Somewhere in the Skies: A Human Approach to an Alien Phenomenon,” free with a five-year Paracast+ membership.'

I thought Ryan Sprague put the kibosh on that.

Ah well. Anyone signing up for that deal is already taking some chances.

I never saw that one coming.

Sounds like you are writing a song. I can guess that nobody really cares assuming that is even true.

When it comes to food and such, we’re pretty much empty.

Ditto for brains too. Instead of finding a job, cutting back spending, selling your car etc like a normal person, you are sitting on your backside and begging strangers.

Maybe it worked at one time but it doesn't take much intelligence to realise that this is now counterproductive.

Too many people are now aware of your history of scamming and false crises. You are like the boy who cried wolf but in your case the wolf never came - you didn't learn your lesson, but the rest of the village still did.

As I said earlier today, I’ll turn 73 in one week, on September 9th. This is no way to grow old.

I agree. So why the heck are you telling us? Your destiny is in your hands. You put yourself in this situation yet you are trying to "guilt" us into helping you like it is our fault.

Why would your situation be more important to us than our own?

Even your attempts at manipulation are so poor that they are insulting and childish.

All the rest of us have to pay our bills too. We don't get any help with them and what is most insulting is that we also have to put up with shameless scroungers like you expecting us to pay your bills too.

As for your age, everyone is growing old all the time, nobody is getting younger, the fact that you are 73 and in this position is just an indication of how immature you are and the fact that you (yes you) have not done anything to change that or improve it.

We didn't force you to avoid working, to spend and live outside your means, to single handedly run a very good podcast into the ground and make it worthless.

It is all your doing.

You are the one who destroyed your chances of taking the Paracast anywhere. You ruined your online reputation. You aided and abetted a con man who stole money from vulnerable elderly people including your own father-in-law. You made all this come out by shamelessly begging for over a decade.

Yet you still have the nerve to come back again and again trying to guilt trip us into giving you money.

The outrageous thing here is that you could still work in the real "offline" world though and nobody would know any of these things.

Yet you keep refusing to do so. The only conclusion is that you are not as desperate as you claim to be and are committed to being a lifelong beggar.

Are you able to help me survive for a few more days?

F*ck no. I don't like swearing but you have driven me to it. I can't help you.

I am only responsible for and in control of my own behaviour - not yours.

Only you can help yourself (as has been stated many times) by:

1. Ditching the paracast/parasite forums and using the time you waste on them to get a real job - even ones you consider "beneath you" - it's what adults do.

2. Curtail your spending and live within your means - even most children can learn how to budget.

3. Stop begging people with fake crises - it only harms the tiny microscopic fragments of reputation you have left.

It is not rocket science.

Pretty much everyone else has to do these three things when they are adults (well most people are sensible enough to not even have to think about no.3).

We may not all have a Paracast but we all have hobbies or pastimes which we would love to get money for but we have to live in the real world and realise that it won't happen.

The answer is not to ditch all other avenues of work and start begging for the rest of your life.

The longer you keep doing this the more people you will turn against you.

You would be far ahead by paying $19.95 on Amazon and bypassing the Paracast subscription.

P.S., one of his emails of this weekend (so far - it's hard to imagine he's done!) states, "I am working harder than ever to find a way to break this bad cycle for good."

Which sort of struck me... I mean... it actually reads as though he is recognizing he is in a self defeating spiral of behavior. It is the kind of thing you'd expect someone to say were they coming clean and actually attempting to change (you can see the text here: SchemeGeneRC on Twitter )

I think a few things in that email read like they came from a moment of clarity. Except it's Gene, so I can't believe he is facing up to anything, or actually going to try to change.

Maybe he realizes that it is the Labor Day weekend holiday and he will be totally ignored for those few days or maybe longer!

"I am working harder than ever to find a way to break this bad cycle for good."

He has made these kind of statements before and nothing changed. Basically he will say anything just to sustain the begging longer, that includes saying things that suggest there is some hope of change. The problem is things never change and I doubt they ever will until Gene is forced into it.

Ryan may well have squashed that but we all know how sneaky Gene is. He may just have not bothered to update the details and may be giving people a copy of Rockoids or something instead. Or he may give them nothing and hope they don't notice.

Either Steinberg has gotten so lazy or he just can't think of anything new to say to shake the money tree. It's repeating the same old tired phrases hoping for a better result.

Wouldn't you like to see what is truly going on there in Arizona? I think we would all be amazed or shocked as to what he is up to.

The pictures posted on this thread always stand in contrast to the old photo that Gene typically uses. On one hand he reminds us about his age. On the other hand he is stuck in time or wants to project a different image of himself.

I once had someone come into my office and wonder if an old family photo was really me - yes, at one point my hair was a different color. But time does not stop and should be embraced.

Is this part of the reason why Gene writes about lack of food but apparently dies not take advantage of the meal and food programs at the senior centers? It does not fit into his self image.

In any event, will the revamped Paracast show Gene as he is?

The Paracast has always been based on a few rules. The co-host does all the grunt work and heavy lifting. Steinberg sits back and plays the time keeper for the commercials. Steinberg never shares what little money comes in for the show.

Criticism is not allowed. Those that do criticize are shown the door and banned. I don't see how a new layout will change any of that.

The website has devolved. Old, valued members are long gone and will never return. Steinberg's constant begging has proved that his operation is broken with no way to fix it.

Ignorance isn’t bliss!
Couldn’t bring myself to listen to programme about Vampires!!.Listened to the Calvin Parker episode.Gene spent the first 5 minutes waffling on about old radio shows he worked on.Then within the first 7 minutes he mentioned working for Jim Moseley!.We could play a great drinking game predicting when Gene mentions Moseley,Saucer Smear, his dog,his ex wife,Roswell et cetera,et cetera,et cetera.
The show itself was dull. Not many listener questions as there are not many listeners left.Randall has a new microphone that can make his voice reverb (wow).Hes no replacement for Biedny or O’Brien.Parker was rather dull but obviously believed something happened,I’m not convinced he was abducted and his fellow abductee has passed away.
Not likely to attract any more subscribers.

Steinberg doesn’t seem to get it. When posters inquired why they didn’t ask certain basic questions of Parker, Steinberg replies that much of this has been published a 1,000 times already! The Pascagoula incident happened in the 1970s. Most people don’t know or forgot the details. How lazy can two interviewers get?

They can no longer count on some decent questions from viewers. Steinberg banished all those people. What a train wreck of a program!

Which raises the question, "Why bother listening to your lame podcast, then?" We've all heard the survivalist ads and the rest of that crap a thousand times. When was the last time anyone purchased Rockoids? From what I've read about it, you'd have to pay me $50 an hour to read it.
