synchronicities

So I just had one and hesitate to even speak of it aloud.
I love these sorts of things - apropos of exactly what, who knows.

Anybody have a good one?

I have at least 20 synchronicities per day for decades. I call it sim gearing and one of the most common things is people or vehicles crossing my T. The average person would view it as simple coincidence. From my perspective everyone is being manipulated by AI's. There's videos on YT of a gang stalking tactic called Pass Harassment where two vehicles will pass your residents simultaneously going in opposite directions.

My favorite subject hence the avitar. I'll see if I can't dig up one from a few years ago. I will say I experienced a number of them myself a few years ago but alas, except for a rare one here and there they no longer appear to be part of my life.

I can't remember if I brought these things up here or over at the Paracast so please forgive me if I'm being repetitive. Weird little coincidences like reading a book about Napoleon and for the few days I am doing so received about 10 robocalls that come from 'Waterloo, NY' and 'Austerlitz, NY' . Never received them again. Okaaaaay. Had I been reading science fiction would the calls have come from Zeta Reticuli? I love this stuff and just take note, it's not like I use chicken guts and the daily horoscope to plan my life.

At risk of revealing a bit too much personal detail last year at this time I was about to start a new job that I really, really wanted. Sitting on the deck on a brisk day - September 29, 2017 - and my little green friend showed up

upload_2018-9-15_7-41-52.jpeg

Never seen one here before or since. He wasn't moving too quick due to the temperature but he hung out with me for some time. Naturally I took this as a traditional sign of good luck.

As it turned out that new job made me understand why animals can chew their own limbs off to escape a trap. What a nightmare. Sometimes the worst thing that happens to you is that you get exactly whatever it is you think you want. Had that happened as a kid I would have bionic legs and be a master accordion player, but I digress.

Since then I have explored a completely different avenue that didn't work out and that left me chagrined, to say the least. However, I have been on a path that it a bit too personal and complex to relate here but call it a series of nudges to get me to where I am right now - and that is to do something that I am well suited to and glad to have an opportunity to try. Still have to go through the interview process and nothing is certain but you have to have to peace with what you do for a living and this is again something really I want, as far as I can tell. Good things don't usually come to those parked on their ass and I full well know that this is my own doing not necessarily Cosmic influence.

Until last night that is. I couldn't get a picture but guess who showed back up? Yup - my little green friend. Again, I have never seen one of these around here ever until last year and oddly enough here I am in just about the same place almost exactly a year later and here is my buddy again.

So, not exactly Skinwalker-level High Weird but I took note and am glad for the good luck charm. We do have turkey vultures around here and I think I would have felt differently had I seen one of THEM out on the deck instead .....

I think you (like I) will get a real charge of my Synchronicity because it revolves around our little green friend (above). But be aware it's about 7 pages or so because I tried to be precise.

As Above So Below
When I saw this thread title my first thought was more along the lines of resonating with someone or some thing, kind of like being in sync or 'tuned' in to that individual or situation or thing which is a double-edged sword if not balanced with wisdom, which for some can take a lifetime to achieve, others are naturals at it and know how to navigate those 'waters'...

Wade-

Long response here, sorry. Some meat on the bone with this topic.

Very cool write up and in many ways I think we're on the same page or at least in the same chapter of the same book. I've written reams of material for my own benefit never to see the light of day (and you can all be thankful for that) just to get my head around things. I love to write. For many years I kept notebooks and had a chronicle of my handwritten thoughts going back decades. Then one day I stuffed them all in the wood stove and felt much relieved by that for reasons that are hard to explain. I've shared bits and pieces of some things here - Dr.Weaver our family ghost, ghost hunting in PA, the nascent ufologist and so forth.

I listened to an episode of The Unexplained with Howard Hughes which - I think - is #268. Professor Caroline Watt, Koestler Chair of Parapsychology University of Edinburgh that really had my attention. Man, what a funsnatcher. Essentially she can show that certain coincidences that seem unusual to us are far more statistically likely than we might think. She also applied some of that to a 'haunted' castle - the episode, assuming that's the right one, is worth listening to. Having listened to a Paracast interview I bought Dr.Kirby Surprise's Synchronicity: The Art of Coincidence, Choice, and Unlocking Your Mind. He writes abut how our eyes physically perceive things, seek patterns, his personal synchronicities and how he learned to embrace them, Jung's archetypes. Was real good then he took a left turn into woo-woo and lost me. Still worth a couple of bucks.

Despite being largely skeptical and not prone to hyperbole I still can't help but think that there is something to this. It's one thing to believe in science, it's another to have such a strong science belief you narrow your viewpoint e.g. "that can't possibly be." Maybe to examine it to closely is to ruin it, you just have to be open to it and try to filter the ordinary from the extraordinary. Not hang on too tight - sort of like why drunks tend to survive auto accidents that kill sober people. "Show me" is, IMO, a reasonable approach.

As I've said before I feel there is something just out of reach, like if I turn around very quickly I might catch something - what I don't know. Santa was always watching you know, and frankly that creeped me out. Today we'd label him a pedophile. In the end belief in these things is fairly benign and I take them as they come, and out of necessity interpret them as I see fit. "One man’s coincidence is another man’s synchronicity"

Why praying mantis? I'm with you there - WTF? Like I said, better them than turkey vultures. Glad he showed up again at any rate.

A couple of things from what you wrote.

"I spend a lot of time contemplating such concepts as cause and effect, chance, choice, chaos theory, free will" 10-4

"I pay A LOT more attention to my intuition" Agreed. I've found my gut instinct is usually correct even if it's hard to quantify.

"And I even question whether synchronicity qualifies as a paranormal event" Yup.

"many synchronistic experiences happen during periods of transformation"
Perhaps we're more open to them then, or more willing to interpret them with some significance. That's what prompted this thread.

" I don’t really spend a lot of time acquainting myself about some of the more famous events or people in the field"
OK, this is a bit off topic, but me too. What qualifies someone as an expert in Weird Shit? I have always been interested in this stuff but Life Intervenes and it's only recently that I've really had the time and interest to circle back around and indulge myself. I can't believe how little much of it has changed. The pararoyalty - meaning the minor celebrity names we hear so often in this field just rub me the wrong way sometimes. I really don't think being utterly steeped in the literature, often old and dusty, necessarily helps. Might actually skew the perceptions of someone who is uninitiated but interested. A quick example - I read Ruppelt's book, second edition, and thought "well, that just about explains it." Not being closed mined here - just able to interpret what is self serving from what isn't. Mostly.

Finally, again sorry for going on this long, materialism. Eeeeeeee I cringed when I read that because I have posted pictures on this forum of cars, guns, motorcycles and thought "Oh crap how crass do I seem?" All I can offer - not that anyone has asked me to - is that my collar is very blue and anything I have I have worked my ass off for. Materialism isn't about what you have I think, it's more about why you have it. If it serves your interest and gives you pleasure for your own private reasons I think it's OK,. If you collect piles of shit just to impress others it isn't. I wish I could introduce you to an acquaintance that has yet to figure that out - what he thinks is impressive is actually kind of sad. Not my job to explain it to him. We're all on our own path here - maybe these weird synchronicities are part of that to those who are open to them. I think we should all learn from our experiences and try to leave a light touch.

Well, I don't know about AI. I think you're talking about something very concrete and specific. I can't imagine what the purpose of being 'targeted' for these strange occurrences might be or what might be doing it, if anything. I like to leave a little fun in the world.

The thing is I do experience a number of coincidences (actually did is a better term, as I said more on that in a bit, it's a busy weekend) not everything has to be a way cool synchronicity. The thing that's always made me think is or what makes that decision? I've been pretty intrigued by some pretty standard, for lack of a better word coincidences. not all these noodles can be colored with the same brush. At the same time I've been pretty blase over something that probably deserved more consideration. I think I mentioned that if one immerses themselves in all kinds of "information gathering"as I do it's only natural to come across a number of these coincidences My point is, as I said who makes that decision? (Why did I) spend so much time breaking down these scenarios to try to justify to myself my odds at having experienced them?

I remember getting in a discussion with Angelo from the Paracast in this . He once again trotted out the law of numbers debate to explain it away. (The # of people on this planet and the # of scenarios that are possible given the situation) I really can't figure it out but that's too broad for me you really have to adjust (?) those figures down for me to accept.

I have to say it is pretty good to be talking about this again with other people. Things have been pretty barren for a while and I'm hoping by getting this type of input from people I can get things to start moving me again so to speak

Not related - but not totally unrelated - to all this I was thinking about the changes we go through as we age and the process of death. I have had my fair share of experiences with this. Not paranormal, in fact quite normal. The skeptic in me says that we have a belief in the afterlife as part of our evolution as a species; since we form large complex social groups its probably some kind of circuit breaker that prevents us from indulging in behavior that would destroy these groups. But having seen, heard and smelled it up close there is a part of me that believes there is more to us after our bodies cease - John B Alexander calls it a 'continuation of consciousness.' I've read up a little on Near Death Experiences and think that yeah, maybe so. It doesn't hurt to find comfort in that as long as I'm not hurrying up the process to find out.

If there is anything to that I can't help but wonder if just a few of these odd synchronicities are a part of that. Not direct communication - the praying mantis went about his business and didn't vanish in a sparkly puff. I believe in free will and the best we can do is understand the choices we make and how they affect others. But this is as close as I can come to quantifying how I feel when something hits me with a little more significance - maybe they are just little bumps, pings or nudges. Can't imagine why. Maybe some other facet of ourselves, our own consciousness, is doing it.

I know that sounds weird but what the hell, that's what AE is for

This is a bit deeper.

Not proud of mentioning this but as you lot will never know me, I will share.

I used solvents with a close mate many years ago, during the summer holidays while I was at school.

While smashed on it we both left my parents garden and with his back to us, leaning against the road sign was a policeman. I looked at my mate and he looked at me, we both had the look of panic but when we glanced back he was gone.

Connected and synchronised hallucination.

Connected and synchronised hallucination.

Not quite what I had in mind but interesting

The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. And I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon. Probably at the next gas station.

I’m not sure this falls under the synchronicity category, but here goes. Maybe twenty years ago my wife’s family had a reunion picnic. As we were heading home my wife’s aunt said she forgot her purse back at the party. We were only a mile down the road so we turned around and went back to pick it up. It couldn’t have taken us ten minutes or so. We headed out again and just a couple of miles down the road traffic had completely stopped.

When we finally got moving we saw there had been an accident. Some guy tried to pass in a no pass zone and his vehicle flipped onto its side and crushed him to death. No one said it, but I immediately thought that had we not turned back for that purse we could have easily been involved in that accident. That accident would have been in that time frame that we drove through that location. It sure made me wonder.
