I think we can all agree that Lonnie Zamora saw SOMETHING. What did he see is the $64k question? I personally think it was something terrestrial. Now what that is - I have no idea. Do you?

Do you think it was the students pulling off a hoax?

I tend to agree with this piece on the student hoax theory, simple but clear...

Problems with Student Hoax Theory: How exactly did they pull it off, presumably using a balloon? How did they get rid of the balloon so quickly? For that matter, how did they disappear themselves from Zamora's sight so quickly? It would have to be like a magician's disappearing act. Also, serious attempts to investigate the student hoax theory have turned up plausible rumors and implications, but so far no solid and demonstrable facts.

Not had chance to listen to the above.Cgl I don’t believe it was the students hoaxing Zamora.I don’t believe Zamora was making the whole thing up.However the flames and flying capabilities described, lean towards something terrestrial rather than ET.Maybe a top secret experimental craft?.Another case we may never get to the truth about but sadly I don’t think it’s a smoking gun.

Agreed. I think it was some type of classified moon lander. As soon as I hear/see "jet engines" I'm thinking it's something terrestrial.

Many people have nothing else to reference sounds by other than what they are familiar with, whilst jet engines may have been mentioned, it could have been something completely and entirely different but sounded similar enough in his mind to make that statement...

I have presented both sides of the hoax story you be the judge.

What's your take on it?...Why do you call it a hoax story?...

I wrote a little incorrectly. the 4 links were to pro and con in the theory that the sighting was a hoax.
What I think:
i think that the sighting happened as reported.
The witness, credible. The evidence all points to an event. I think he saw a craft of man made origin. I do not favor the student hoax. A lunar lander prototype? Something else? What was seen came from earth.

I'm wondering if it may have been a smaller version of the apparently nuclear powered thing sighted in the Cash-Landrum incident? Zamora mentioned that it had flames coming out the bottom and produced alot of heat. If it was a hoax I can't imagine students being able to pull that off. It would have taken someone with aerospace knowledge and $$, like AFOSI.

I don't believe the hoax theory for one minute. There are WAY too many things that would have had to have been set up and timed out just right - too many things to try and list here in the forums. But I do believe it was some type of craft mfg'd here on Earth. You bring up a good point about Cash Landrum. I never would have thought to have connected the two but it at least seems plausible.
