We take our knowledge and we make our best guesses, We debate and discuss our knowledge amongst ourselves but, What is Fact? What is Truth? Fact and Truth are actually different concepts. Fact is Empirical, It is based on logic, But Truth is something that can be different, What is true today, may not be true tomorrow. But what is Fact Is Fact.
The sad truth is, Very little of what we know, And even less of what we believe is based in Fact. And truth, as we discussed, can be changed as often as a pair of socks. It can even change from individual to individual.
I think people don't really want to hear what I think. Because It's not pretty, It's not wrapped in candy, It's not positive or hopeful. I think we are not alone, I think the reason they don't contact us and attempt to coexist with us is simply logic, They are not us, This is not their habitat, It's not that they aren't fascinated with us. But even Jane Goodall left the Gorillas and went home. Because she didn't want to live with them forever. We accept them, But on what grounds? Because they are advanced? Because they have technological answers for every question or problem we could come up with? What's in it for them? Why would they want to come and live in the wilderness with the primitives?
It could even be deeper than that, People have this fantasized idea that they are our "Space Brothers" What if Earth and all of us upon it, are nothing at all more than a roadside cryptozoological attraction on their way to the galactic waffle hut? That's the problem, It may be the problem with all humankind, With every last one of us. We are so self-centered as a species, Why do we want them to come to us? Why do we want them to live here? It certainly can't be their sparkling personalities. No, It's what they can do for us, It's what they can give us.
We want them here, For the most selfish and self-centered reasons. And yet we ask, Why haven't they came to us. Petting Zoos are nice, But who wants to pack some bags and live in one permanently? We have very little to offer them, we may not even be able to accommodate them, That's not to even mention, outside of what mutually beneficial reasoning that most relationships possess. Our attractions and desire for them are sincerely self-centered and self-service. Motivated by greed and desire every last one of us. "It's true we all know it"
No species in their right mind would want to openly contact us, That's why they pick and choose who they interact with Because they don't plan on interacting with us on any large scale, It's fun to pet a puppy, They are cute. But it's not fun to live in the wilderness with a pack of wild dogs. It's a huge difference between what we want and the logical reasons we dream up for them to contact us, Two different ball games honestly.
