Ben Moss's ridiculous claims about Socorro

Creepy Green Light

Don't mistake lack of talent for genius
Does anyone remember Ben Moss on the Paracast claiming that Ray Stanford went back to the Socorro landing site (decades later) & took some pics. Then supposedly once Ray was back home reviewing the photos.....voila! Out in the distant sky is the same exact egg shaped UFO - complete with landing gear extended! Ben claims he saw the pics and its legit and they were working on getting the photos released "very soon" - which was like 3 years ago now and I've never heard one peep about it since then.

That is one of the more ridiculous claims I've heard and he's supposed to be some hot shot flying saucer investigator. And it doesn't help that the main figure in that story was R.S. - I don't believe anything that guy says.

Those Ray Stanford photos were only going to be seen by select individuals such as Moss and Chris O'Brien. The only way the public will see Stanford's photos is when he is buried six feet under.

But Ray is great at finding fossils!!,so capturing ufo's is like shooting fish in a barrel for him!.And don't forget he channelled Jesus, have you done that?,and he invented an attractor to gain the attention of aliens. He can prove all this and would but hasn't because people are mean.

I absolutely remember that episode and they were supposed to be building a website that would be highlighting some of Stanford's content. I remember visiting it a few months later and it was essentially barren. Wasn't Moss doing it with a research partner? I forget who it was.

Ray Stanford was a lightning rod topic for quite awhile over in those forums because Chris O'Brien would constantly rave about Ray and his "research" on virtually every episode of the show. Then he got so pissed at all of us ripping him in the forums that he swore he would never mention Ray again. That lasted maybe 2 weeks and then he basically told all of us saying "put up or shut up" to fuck off (paraphrasing) and that he'd talk about Ray whenever he wanted and that if anyone doubted Ray's photos, call him up so you could visit him and see the research for yourself.

I've heard several people who I respect, including Chris, talk about having seen the photographic materials in person, I've heard them describe, in detail, the photos, so he's got something. I just don't give a fuck. They are his materials, he can do anything he wants with them. However, they aren't worth mentioning, referring to (except derisively), or talking about until he shares them with the world.

On a tangential note, I listened to an interview with Stanford on Martin Willis' UFO Podcast several years ago where he actually said to Martin, "I told my wife, if I pass away, just put all of my research in a pile and light it on fire." I mean, what the fuck? That comment alone made me lose any respect for the man as a serious researcher. Who thinks that way? The selfishness was stunning. I also find it raises more questions about his materials and attitude.

And he traveled in time (he was late getting to the airport to pickup a friend so he used time travel to remedy being late) and he used to be roommates with George Adamski - right there alone, tells me all the info I need to know.

Say if I had a ton of good UFO photos & videos that you were impressed with, but then some time later found out I used to be roommates with Billy Meier - wouldn't that change everything?

I remember all of that as well. It's like saying that I discovered the cure for cancer. And then when everybody is like "Wow! Really? Please show me!" - then I'm like "Nope. I will never show it or share it with anybody. Ever."

I seem to remember RS saying on a Paracast episode that a better book deal could coerce him to release some stuff. I will admit though, that his powers of observation are far more acute than most - he did find those dinosaur tracks hiding in plain sight and has a small display in the Smithsonian. On the other hand I think he also channeled Jesus at one point. Maybe he should do it again to get that book deal - helps to have well connected friends.

i have never understood this ray fellow, from the few information i can gather in the web, he had a chris o' brien style ufo detection project in the 70's, right?

who the hell is ray stanford anyways?
information on him in the web is as rare as his alleged UFO pictures
even john keel just says that he saw a shaman ghost in a medium session half a century ago

One of those exceedingly rare kooks that has some sort of talent. He has (or had) a fossil exhibit at the Smithsonian because he saw something no one else did in a very public place. He's clearly highly intelligent and very observant.

When it comes to UFOs and having any credibility though, he's got some issues from the past. You can't come crawling out of a cesspool of nonsense and expect the stink to fade so easily. I've listened to him give a few interviews and would love to know exactly what the evidence he claims to have is. Put up or shut up, and to his credit he's chosen the latter for the most part. Maybe TTSA should send someone over to have a look, if they haven't already.

In the end I think this "clearly highly intelligent and very observant" individual is guilty of what many with this interest are - believing your own bullshit.

He's a tough one to file away.

what is he doing exactly? if he is hoaxing then he is obviouslly not searching for money and fame, its very hard to find anything about him in the internet
is he hoaxing just for the lulz? or to tease ufology?
