Emotional support squirrel gets woman kicked off flight, passengers cheer

A passenger was booted from a Frontier Airlines plane in Orlando after she came aboard with a nutty companion — a squirrel that she insisted was her emotional support animal.

The woman noted in her reservation that she was flying Tuesday night with an emotional support pet, but did not indicate that it was a squirrel, according to WKMG.

She refused to get off the Cleveland-bound flight, so the crew summoned police, who told the rest of the passengers to deplane so they could deal with the woman, the airline said.

“Police eventually escorted the passenger off the aircraft and took her to the main terminal,” according to Frontier, which added; “Rodents, including squirrels, are not allowed on Frontier flights.”

It was not known if the unidentified woman would face charges.

Footage shared on Twitter showed the woman being removed from the plane in a wheelchair — as she flashed a middle finger to jeers from other passengers.

The flight took off for Cleveland after a two-hour delay.

“The joke of the plane was hashtag squirrel so you’ll probably see it all over social media,” passenger Amber Calhoun told news5cleveoland.com.

On its website, Frontier’s policy reads: “We do not accept unusual or exotic animals including but not limited to rodents, reptiles, insects, hedgehogs, rabbits, sugar gliders, non-household birds or improperly cleaned and/or animals with foul odor.”

Airlines cracked down on what animals passengers could use for emotional support after images of several unique creatures went viral earlier this year.

After reading this, I assumed I would Quip some sort of viewpoint about how people have lost touch with reality and now need emotional support squirrels, But no, This article has convinced me fully that I myself need an emotional support squirrel of my own.

I think a shrink could provide even better emotional support and I think you may be able to deduct some of their charges at the end of the year.:smile2:

I and Sam are at a disagreement on the emotional support squirrel thing, She says we already have three dogs and the smallest youngest one basically is an emotional support squirrel, So I then asked Izzy, If an emotional support squirrel was a good idea, I had to bribe her with snausages but she's totally on board with the whole squirrel thing now I think lol

I had a pet squirrel as a kid. His Mom got blottoed out on the street and my dog found a nest somewhere and brought the little guy home. We returned it. The third time she brought it home we kept it. Little spud. When his eyes opened the first thing it saw my me and my Mom. She fed it with a bottle. Either of us could do anything we pleased with Fritz.

But to everyone else it was a f&^##king nasty rodent and a Hellthing. It got into my brother's heavy corduroy bathrobe once and ran around his naked body like a barber pole. Quite a sight. Ahhh, the good old days. :)

Squirrels are not pets and not particularly nice to have snuggles with.

Personally, I'm going to petition for an emotional support stripper and see if I can get her a free airline seat next time I fly.

I've gotta admit, Emotional support strippers do sound awesome, But I have to ask, Isn't that what they have been doing all along?
