I think it's more of a *what's the point* it won't change anything.

I've never made a report of sightings or abductions. If I can't get my family and friends to take me seriously, how do I make authorities believe?

I know it's real. That's what I have to settle for because otherwise, I'd probably go nuts.

Thank goodness for sites like Nivek's because I always felt so alone before. I know it isn't my job to make the world listen but, at least I have you guys.

There is no decline in sightings. Just a decline in reported sightings. They are there.

I believe the majority of people have been convinced that anything unusual they see in the sky today is our own advanced technology.

Sometimes it is.

Believer
Even when there are small spikes of sightings, many times it can be chocked up as drones or a hoax for attention on social media... I do agree that nowadays kids and teenagers (most adults, too) rarely are ever outside and not on their phone, they see no reason to look at anything else, nevertheless the sky, unless told to... it makes me wonder how many things have gone unnoticed in our skies because of how addicted people have become to technology...

It is a shame, because for the people that truly believe and want to find hard, undeniable evidence, it is usually squandered by people who edit pieces together for "likes" and attention, or there is just a majority of people today who do not believe in any existing life outside of our planet...

I agree... I have learnt that it is especially difficult trying to explain how you feel and your thoughts about topics related to this to people close to you, unless they express the same... a very small percentage of the people I know do not believe in the paranormal or even UFOs/extraterrestrial life. People stop coming forward with experiences and encounters whether it is related to UFOs, Sasquatch, anything along those lines, for fear of being ridiculed not only by the people close to them, but their community as a whole...

Before here, I found a haven in the form of AlienHub, but I have to say Nivek's site does make me feel more at home than I felt there, where I don't have to second guess anything I think/say.

It makes me wonder what we could find out if some people weren't so close-minded....

At Peace.
And people dont care as much about UFO's anymore.

The fascination with flying things has waned greatly. Less pilots in training, etc.

When I was a kid in the 70's. Seeing a plane in the sky was always an event... small, big... didnt matter. They were an icon of adventure.

Now, they are just busses with wings to most people... just boring background...

And lights in the sky are just boring old lights in the sky...

Stare..... They are always staring
My feeling is that if one wants to proceed in this field, then we have to think outside the box. I think there is something there but it's not little green aliens from the other side of the Galaxy (But oddly likely they do exist but are no more adept in interstellar travel then we are!) but someplace like our Id (?)

Why in the world would you assume that other civilizations, perhaps millions or even billions of years ahead of us technologically, would be as incapable of interstellar travel as we are?

Especially when the reported propulsion characteristics of most AAVs are exactly what's required for interstellar spaceflight: a reactionless type of field propulsion with high acceleration capability.

I think it's silly to presume that our technological limitations apply to other civilizations. We've only had electrical lighting for a bit more than one century. So we're hardly qualified to assess what's possible for civilizations thousands+ years ahead of ours.

Creepy Green Light

Don't mistake lack of talent for genius
I think a lot of it had to do with it being a fad. Miraculously, once Kenneth Arnold had his siting - then the switchboards in North America blew up. Everybody was "seeing screwy lights up in the sky" (to quote Joe from This Island Earth:). Everyday there was a newspaper clipping about flying saucers. Then that escalated to seeing the occupants which then escalated to being taken on board the flying saucer which escalated to the occupants entering ones bedroom & hovering them out their bedroom window into the flying saucer, etc. It's almost like flying saucers have run its course. The types of cases we all know & love (or hate) don't happen anymore. B&B Hill, Travis Walton, Falcon Lake, Ariel School case, JAL flight, etc. Even the infamous "mile wide UFO" seems to have petered out as far as sightings go.

Another point to consider is this; you know how tons of people have dash cams, including most motorcyclists....well private pilots use go pros too. Mounted inside the cockpit and externally on the plane. So not only are flying saucers not showing up on people's cell phones, surveillance cameras, dash cams, they are also not showing up on private pilot excursions. Whether it's a seasoned pilot or a student pilot documenting how he flew for the day so he can go over it later - there are a ton of flights going on in fixed wing & rotary wing aircraft where their are Go Pro's & other cameras - yet the sharpest photograph we've got to date of a flying saucer is from Silly Meier.
