I'm continuing this from my previous thread on AU/AH.
I'm an American living in Japan, and where I work is likely one of the most haunted places I've ever been, and my workrooms are, in my opinion, probably the second-most haunted part of the facility.
Let me give you some background. My workplace is on a hill, and it consists of multiple buildings built on the hill and down the sides of the hill. There are probably about a dozen buildings in all.
My room was once one big room that was later divided. Modular dividing walls were installed along one wall, making a long, narrow room on the side that's maybe 2 meters wide and about 15 meters long. This is divided in half by another wall with a door separating the two halves. One half of this narrow room is my office, where i have my desks, cabinets, etc. I spend a lot of time here. At the end of this office area are double doors (no windows) leaving to the hall.
The large area of the room is about 10m wide and 20 meters long. There sliding glass doors on one side that lead to the balconies, and on the other side are three doors, each with a large window in the upper half. Two of these lead to the office area, and the last leads to the hallway. This room has tables and chairs.
I moved to this room from a previous room about 5 years ago or so. Before that, the room had hardly been used for a few years, so it had kind of an abandoned air for a long time.
At my workplace, there have been reports over the years from different people about seeing ghosts in different places, and these stories rarely change. There's one building where people have regularly reported hearing equipment going ... only when they look in, the lights are off, nobody's there, and the equipment is silent.
There's another building where people who didn't know each other have reported seeing a small boy.
There's a building where they've reported seeing a Japanese soldier, and another where they've seen an old woman walking the halls.
In my old room, I had two doors facing the hall, and I'd often think I saw an elderly woman with gray hair in a bun walk past the first door, but never pass the second door, and never go past the first door again. She'd walk past the first door and disappear.
In this building, one night, while working really late, I heard voices coming from downstairs ... but I was the only one in the building. I heard footsteps on my floor ... only no one was there.
In my current room, I've come in the morning to find these turned on that I was sure I'd turned off the day before. I went several days where the door kept opening on its own and then slamming shut ... even though it wasn't windy, it had never done it before and hasn't done it since. A number of times, I've seen a man in a blue jacket walking out of the room. He looked so vivid, I ran after him, thinking it might be a new security guard patrolling (they do night patrols, door and window checks, etc.), only to find the hall empty. I've heard knocking on my doors, the walls, even the windows, only no one is there. And sometimes I hear footsteps.
When I was first moving into the room, I was here late at night moving things, and I started hearing what sounded like footsteps. I could hear them so clearly I thought I could tell where they were coming from, but when I'd go to that place, stop and listen, the footsteps would sound like they were coming from somewhere else in the room, like every time I moved, the footsteps moved.
One time while walking from my office towards the double doors leading to the hall, through the window of the middle door leading into the main room, I swear I clearly saw a young woman sitting at one of the tables with her head in her hands, but when I opened the door and looked in, even though it only took a second, just reaching out to open the door and taking two steps into the room, the room was empty.
Today, something weird happened again, that made me want to start this thread up again. Last December, we changed the chairs in the main rooms, and we stacked the old chairs in the empty half of the narrow room. Now, I've been walking past those chairs numerous times a day going out of the office or coming in. This morning, when I came into work one of the stacks of chairs had fallen over. Now, to be honest, the way they're stacked is not terribly stable. They're not really "stackable". We're just waiting on the truck to take them away. But they've been in my room now for more than three months, and one of the stacks has now fallen over. Also, it was fine when I locked up last night. I thought "That's weird. I wonder if there was earthquake or something last night." Didn't think much of it, really. Went to a meeting. Came back. A DIFFERENT stack of chairs had fallen over. Now, imagine: for three months, the chairs have been fine. Since December, they haven't moved. Then, in one day, two stacks fell down, not at the same time, but hours apart.
Weird.
