Crashed UFOs?

The Nixon/Gleason UFO story is one of the few third person stories I would give credence to. Supposedly Gleason became upset with his soon to be ex-wife so she stopped talking about it. Gleason never denied the story nor did he speak of it to the media.

but most likely true - yes from outer space existing in same universe as us
At the moment it is an entirely open question. BUT there are huge amounts of disinformation from dubious sources pushing the ETH to a ridiculous extent -- plus some from ostensibly reliable sources. It is tempting, if we are pro ETH, to seize on these apparent confirmations of our views, and risk either being led further astray, or, when the information is shown to be false, looking stupid. The Majic documents are cleverly done but extremely suspect. Corso's book is totally ludicrous. A lot of the so-called disclosures are obvious fakes.

So better to believe in a fictional mischievous god causing all these ufos to appear, sounds logical and rational to me...:ohmy8:

I don't know what @CarlGrove may have said in the past but I think to it's fair to say that nobody really knows what the hell is going on. Admittedly, some theories I've heard sound totally ludicrous but there are historical precedents along those lines. Germ theory being one. The cargo cult people had only their observations to guide them and that didn't exactly give them a clear picture - and that was dealing with other humans who might actually take the time to explain themselves.

I think ETH is the most likely case but wouldn't bet on it being the entire answer.

UPDATE ON OPERATION MAJESTIC 12 DOCUMENTS

I think Friedman makes an extremely compelling case for the documents being a U.S. Government creation. Whoever created these things was very familiar with military documents and the officers in charge at the time, they probably had free access to all the necessary documents to find these facts. It would be hard to argue against the list of people comprising MJ-12 as being those who probably would be selected to look into this matter, they were on top of their respective fields.

I think the largest problems with the documents are the things that no one can verify. We don't know who sent the rolls of film containing the documents to Jamie Shandera, I'm not aware of anyone taking credit for it. No one has been able to examine the paper documents themselves, as all that has surfaced are photographs of them. All the personnel mentioned were dead before the film was delivered, Jerome Hunsaker being the last to die in 1984.

An excellent summing-up. I think these documents carried on the very clever disinformation plan developed to cover up the Roswell crash -- assuming it to have been a black projects operation and nothing extraterrestrial at all. This is a standard response (compare the Kecksburg case where all the evidence points to a disastrous field propulsion test, and afterwards a "delivery driver" comes forward to describe his accidental sighting not only of the object itself but also an alien body casually laid out alongside at Wright Patterson).

As Above So Below
I don't believe I have ever talked about fictional mischevious gods!

No you haven't but isn't that the prevailing counter theory known as the IDH that some cosmic trickster god is to blame for ufos and paranormal matters?...My question was more leaning towards why should we start believing in gods again just because we have not yet figured out these mysteries...We are still a fairly primitive, it may yet take another hundred, five-hundred or a thousand years before we solve all these riddles, if we survive that long, but its a monumental step backwards to blame everything we don't understand on some unknown, mostly likely fictional god...

With that said I do hold out some things may be from other dimensions, as I also think our detonation of nuclear devices in our atmosphere attracted a lot of spectators and visitors, some could be from other dimensions, if those dimensions exist...Many of our visitors are most likely from our universe, perhaps not all but many, it would seem to be the most logical and rational notion until evidence reveals otherwise...

This sounds much like the artist William Blake's God figure Nobodaddy.

No, I don't hold that particular theory, in fact I don't support any one theory. I just want to make sure that we keep all possibilities in mind until (or if) some decisive piece of evidence emerges. It may be that as an organism, humanity as a whole is going to have to make some huge leap in its level of understanding before solving these riddles. I hope not, though, because I would like to see some substantial progress before I depart.
I have an idea that if we knew all about what was happening in the late 1940s, in regard not only to UFOs but secret weapons testing, changes in human awareness, etc., we would make some progress. If you read Kenneth Arnold's book The Coming of the Saucers (it took me decades to get a copy), you find hints not only of physical UFOs but of the high strangeness elements noted decades later by Keel and Vallee, all making an appearance in 1947.
I think all the weird happenings are part of our universe, but as a culture modern developed countries have preferred to ignore them or reject them ("there must be a rational explanation" -- for "rational" read "conventional").

it isn't out of question either, i see no reason why ETs would toy and play with humans as seen in various cases
