Truthiness
The only way I can begin this post is to Scale the Cosmos itself. Some hold that the universe is Infinite, Others Measure the distance from the Cosmic Microwave background, assuming surely this Microwave background is the edge of reality, maybe, Existence itself, Either way, the Observable universe is about 93 billion light-years in diameter - It took centuries, but we now know the size of the Universe - Of course, a Lightyear is the number of miles light it can travel in a year, That's about 5.8 trillion miles or 9.8 trillion kilometers converted to metrics.
That's just for one light year, The Arecibo message that was aimed at the m13 globular cluster is 25.000 lightyears away That's at the edge of the milky way galaxy just outside the disk in one of many globular clusters called "Messier objects". Fun fact, it takes our own milky way galaxy 225 million years just to complete one rotation or "Galatic Year" So What I'd like to express here is, The Universe is mind-bending vast, That when we think of Visitors from another planet, That planet is almost always something relatively close to us, In this Galaxy, Even sci-fi movies rarely ever dare to imagine aliens from another galaxy, it's just too impossibly complex or too far of a stretch of the imagination for some race of beings to visit all the way from another galaxy, Even Frank Drakes famous equation only postulates the possibility of life here in our milky way.
So, What prevents life in other galaxies? Surely it's there. I ask you one and all, Do you believe other galaxies host intelligent life? Could they be like us? are they something entirely different? It's something neat to think about, even movies and fiction never dare to think of life beyond this milky way, What do you think? What would life in other galaxies be like? To be intelligent life, That's already something they would have in common with us, What other similarities could life from another galaxy share with us?
