We have been getting soooo much rain this week, heavy rains right now too actually, and just 20 minutes north its ice and snow instead of rain...

Got 10" of wet heavy snow last night. So heavy it looks blue down deep. Broke two shear pins on the snow thrower in the couple of hours it took me to clear everything I had to, which includes a couple of hundred yards of poopy trails for our brindled diva. Must move closer to the equator.....

Is anyone getting snow today or this weekend?...

Nope, but it was 6 degrees F - with a capital F - out there a while ago.

This is about the time of year I start saying "the planet's orbit has been corrupted and we're all slowly plunging toward our icy doom. The government knows about it an is lying to us"

Tomorrow we will have a very warm day for this time of year, an oddity as a week from now it is forecast to snow, but since tomorrow is forecast to be in the mid 70s and party sunny I'll probably get the yard cleaned up one last time this season, run the riding mower across the yard and clean up all the leaves in the grass around the house...Then take my dog for a hike in the forest...

We have a winter storm upon us, the forecast is varied here from 18 inches to 36 inches of snowfall and also calling for ice to fall as well as snow, over a 3 day period starting tomorrow late afternoon through Monday night...I am ready, I an fortified enough to last 20 days before I have to venture out anywhere...

Do you expect to lose power?

Yes I do actually, I have my back-up power fully charged, I don't expect to work on Monday, even the owner of the company told me today he thinks we will be shut down for a day or two minimum...

The winter storm is upon us, in a few hours the snow starts falling and it won't stop until Monday evening next week and they said it will turn to ice on Sunday with likely chances of grid power failing...I have my propane heaters ready and enough propane to heat the house for a week...Solar power system is fully charged for back-up power and my neighbor has a large generator which I gave him money to cover some of the fuel costs for his generator in case its needed cause he will let me run a power cord to his generator too if needed...Plenty of food in the house, I could stay snowed in for a week and be fine before needing to venture out...I think we will be snowed in for at least 3 days if the minimum forecast weather holds up...

We have over 1 1/2 foot of snow now, it's turning to ice by the sound software it hitting my windows, no end in sight yet, I doubt I'll be at work tomorrow, I'm in the country, so no roads have been plowed and not likely going to be anytime soon...I won't be leaving the house until at least Tuesday morning, we will probably have close to 3 feet of snow and ice by tomorrow afternoon...

The first pic is my back deck, the second pic is snow drift up my bedroom window, and the third pic is from a few hours ago just after sunrise early this morning...

The snow has stopped, ice is coming in during the night but I'm not going anywhere tomorrow, the Plant is closed tomorrow, no work...There's anywhere from 16 to 24 inches of snow around my house, had to shovel a path in the grass for my dog to do his business lol...

How do you heat your house?

Infrared heat until the temperature outside drops below 40F then I run propane heat...This house is well insulated with plaster walls and once the walls get warm they stay warm a while...
