In the hospital

I was going for a regular check-up and my doctor said I should be much better than I am so he hospitalized me and I've gotten a new MRI done. It's probably not bad. But here I am in the hospital so it can't be great. Over all I'm bored so I'll be crazy active on the fourms tonight.

Are you waiting for results and are they preforming a procedure tomorrow?
No idea at this point. I think my family doctor is supposed to visit me tomorrow and let me know the new MRI results. Right now they are just pumping me full of antibiotics and fluids. I will know a little more tomorrow morning sometime.

Thank you bro :) they want me to take both the flu and pneumonia vaccines today. They are urging this. I've never had the vaccines. Is this a good idea?
Don't take any vaccine. Hospitals are under orders to push it on all patients and they're dinked if people don't accept them.

I think it's totally insane to push any vaccines on you while you're already hospitalized with an undiagnosed problem.

Seriously: wtf are these people thinking? The last thing they should be doing is adding in another potentially destabilizing variable at a delicate moment. That's how complications arise, and patients end up dead.

I wouldn't even consider it until you're well out of the woods with whatever has you in the hospital in the first place.

how much trouble can I get into if I take the IV out and just leave the hospital? The head nurse here has that strict Catholic nun rudness. Me and my wife were walking to the cafeteria and there she was yelling across the completely packed room to let me and thirty other people there know that I'm not allowed in there and I needed to leave. I assume it's because I'm hooked to the iv or something. And while I didn't cause a scene and cooler thinking prevailed. I felt humiliated. I'm so upset. The only thing preventing me from jerking this Iv out of my arm and walking out is .. well nothing. The intellectual side of me wants to let this pass. The country Kentucky born side of me wants to just walk out of here. This is the worst place ever

I've had time to cool. I think being here is just sucky. But I suppose it sucks for anyone who's in the hospital. I'm going to be calm cool and collective and bide my time. I won't be here forever . And I'm sure being in the hospital sucks for everyone.

Yeah don't do anything crazy - you need to find out what's going on before you leave, because (apparently) either nobody knows how serious it is, or they simply haven't told you what's going on yet. But they must have had a good reason to admit you in the first place; they don't check people into the hospital without a good reason.

Honestly going to the cafeteria was a terrible idea - the last thing you want right now is to catch the flu or something (which is why they want to give you those vaccines), and public areas like that are Ground Zero for most infections. Best to stay put and don't touch anybody, and wait to see what the hell is going on.

You could be suffering from Bad Attitude Syndrome (BAS). That requires at least another week in the hospital.

My wife does, but i dont. She has been known to get hospitalized with pneumonia 3 times in one year . I think the last bad cold i had was the swine flu, 8 years ago.

That is possible. This whole experience has been enlightening for me. When Sam came to see me I fussed at her. Then when my mom and dad came to see me I fussed at dad. The thing is, I've been learning how to control my mood for literally years and years now. What I find most difficult about controlling my mood is I sometimes can't tell that I'm in an Ill mood. So the enlightening part of this has been the realization that I'm unable to recognize when I'm upset.. how do I control something I can't recognize? It's unfair on a psychological level. How does one control something they can't recognize? I can control my words and actions. But how do I recognize when I'm just running off anxiety and anger? Because normally I like to leave a very calm collective emotional footprint and I always feel guilty when I make anyone upset because that's not what I want I want to be a more positive person.

Damn, the swine flu. I know a guy that caught that when he went to Hawaii and he literally almost died bro. I'm sorry you had that. That one is a serious one :(
