Ben Moss's ridiculous claims about Socorro

I believe that Stanford did the research for himself alone. He never had any intention of sharing with the community. If you happened to show up at his door and sweet talked him, he might let you see some of his photos. There are people like him out there. He would rather burn it all than share. As he is in his 80s, I doubt he will be changing his tune. He’s just a crotchety person and the world be damned.

what is he doing exactly? if he is hoaxing then he is obviouslly not searching for money and fame, its very hard to find anything about him in the internet
is he hoaxing just for the lulz? or to tease ufology?

He's not actually 'doing' much of anything these days. Have a look at Amazon at some of the books he's written - years ago - and you'll get the gist.

It's been some time since I read it last but X-Descending by Chris Lambright is the only other book I'm aware of other than Greg Bishop's Project Beta that deals with the Paul Bennewitz. There is a reference to a secret project that Bennewitz may have stumbled upon involving laser systems that can accelerate small payloads. He makes a connection to the photos/video RS has and the work of Leik Myrabo who (I think) patented some sort of laser propulsion system for small payloads.

Chris Lambright – X Descending, Paul Bennewitz, and the Air Force

As for RS and his evidence I say oh good, I can't wait because more photos & video will conclusively end the debate.

Doesn't 'laser propulsion system' sound very much like 'Beamed Energy Propulsion Launch Systems' that TTSA was talking about to launch cubesats?

then why din't he keep the existence of the pictures a secret?

does he ever show any picture he has taken in any of them?
man, i could swear i saw some of the pictures he took a while ago and they weren't too interesting, just blurry comet shaped objects in the sky

weren't the technology that they were hiding from paul bennewitz, stealth planes?

as i have said these pictures i remenber weren't particulary interesting, in fact i know a lot of better pictures in the public domain out there

those are the exact same thing, i can't see what it does have to do with UFOs though

Yes, that was part of it. High energy laser systems were also part of it - something to do with the presence of big long tunnels that were already in place at either Kirtland or Manzano or maybe both. I don't recall RS being a direct part of that story but I did hear him on the Paracast speak about observing certain characteristics from examining high quality video/photos that he took himself of 'AAVs' or whatever you'd like to call it. Near Houston I think - he said he was with his kids out on a pier. Leik Myrabo was an aerospace engineer teaching at RPI who apparently gained some traction from Stanford's assessment and is a credible scientist who later published papers on beamed energy propulsion systems.

Could be, wabbit. I probably shouldn't be going on about things I half remember but WTF, it's Christmas!

Here's my two cents after a couple of stiff egg nogs:

The development of stealth technology began in WW2 and hasn't stopped since so I can't imagine various other things on the military agenda have either. Research into high energy laser systems developed during the latter part of the Cold War have continued for the purposes of missile defense and radical alternative methods of payload delivery and control. Like everything else it's become smaller, less energy intensive and much more capable. I also think it isn't out of the realm of possibility that we are being visited and that we might just be able to glean useful info through observation. Like watching birds and developing notions about flying machines.

Unfortunately the one who may have made useful observations has also had a few little chats with Jesus and had friends who claimed to have made contact with aliens named 'Orthon'. Kind of like a man who is so clever he invented nonsense to queer his own possibly valid observations; he is his own disinformation campaign.

Having listened to a few interviews of Ray, I get the vibe that he believes that what he has discovered is incredibly important but no one takes it seriously, so he he is willing to take it to the grave with him.

I think that kind of scenario happens often throughout the centuries, unfortunately...

I absolutely remember that episode and they were supposed to be building a website that would be highlighting some of Stanford's content. I remember visiting it a few months later and it was essentially barren. Wasn't Moss doing it with a research partner? I forget who it was.

Ray Stanford was a lightning rod topic for quite awhile over in those forums because Chris O'Brien would constantly rave about Ray and his "research" on virtually every episode of the show. Then he got so pissed at all of us ripping him in the forums that he swore he would never mention Ray again. That lasted maybe 2 weeks and then he basically told all of us saying "put up or shut up" to fuck off (paraphrasing) and that he'd talk about Ray whenever he wanted and that if anyone doubted Ray's photos, call him up so you could visit him and see the research for yourself.

I've heard several people who I respect, including Chris, talk about having seen the photographic materials in person, I've heard them describe, in detail, the photos, so he's got something. I just don't give a fuck. They are his materials, he can do anything he wants with them. However, they aren't worth mentioning, refblieveerring to (except derisively), or talking about until he shares them with the world.

On a tangential note, I listened to an interview with Stanford on Martin Willis' UFO Podcast several years ago where he actually said to Martin, "I told my wife, if I pass away, just put all of my research in a pile and light it on fire." I mean, what the fuck? That comment alone made me lose any respect for the man as a serious researcher. Who thinks that way? The selfishness was stunning. I also find it raises more questions about his materials and attitude.
You're exactly right. Ben did have a partner named Tony Angiola. I don't believe one word between the three of them - Ben, Tony & Ray.

who the hell is ray stanford anyways?
information on him in the web is as rare as his alleged UFO pictures
even john keel just says that he saw a shaman ghost in a medium session half a century ago
He's a nut job that used to be roommates with George Adamski (famous UFO fraudster). So right there - that says enough for me. But on top of that, he used to claim to be able to channel Jesus Christ and time travel. One of the stories is that he was late getting to the airport to pick someone up but used his secret time travel technique (flux capacitor?) to make it to the airport on time. Stanford is a total quack.

what i find bizzare is that it seems like he is hoaxing for fun, he never gained profit from it

I think in the grand scheme of things, a lot of people fake stuff for the thrill of it. Kind of like people that are well off that shop lift. They do it for the "rush".

Could you imagine if yourself or one of us took daylight pictures of a structured craft with landing gear extended, then bragged about it online & on podcasts, then when asked to see see the pictures - say "What do you mean? I'm not showing them to anybody." ?
