Gene called us a "hate fourm" since when has speaking the truth been hate?

I'm proud to be a member of this "hate" forum. I'm relatively new here but have felt welcomed by all. A quick or a detailed perusal of various threads (including this one) shows this is not a hate forum. You reap what you sow, and Gene does not like the factual record of his activities being publicized and discussed.

"without sales help"

if only Gene could make the Paracast his full time job and cover the sales needs

and had like, I don't know, 12 years or so to work at it and figure out what works and what doesn't

sheesh

It's the usual Gene line of it being everyone else's responsibility to ensure he makes money. Instead of doing things himself he should have been given "sales help". Same way he needs payment help for all his bills. The guy is beyond pathetic.

As I recall from the dark past, Steinberg has been looking for sales help for the past ten years. He once said he found someone to sell those cheesy GCN ads. It didn’t last very long. I’m sure that sales person soon found out how little he would be paid for drumming up business and he left.

Well I doubt anyone with any sense wants to do hard work and get nothing in return. Gene's whole existence is based on getting others to do the work he refuses to do. He is the definition of a human parasite.

Gene thinks he has the right to what was considered a "normal" lifestyle in the US. His idea of what constitutes a normal lifestyle is insane though. He wants to have millionaire perks without working and it is up to everyone else to provide them.

His sense of entitlement truly knows no bounds. He really does expect a comfortable life with all the so-called 'middle class' trimmings, with no special effort put forth on his part.

I'm sure he wants what many many others want, even may feel like they ought to have. He just very openly expects everyone else to pay for his fantasy lifestyle and will say or do anything to weasel his way toward that goal. The bum.

If this is correct it seems Gene's elder brother (assuming that is him) was a wealthy venture capitalist who invested in health care - that must really sting, it suggests there are wealthy children out there who want nothing to do with their grifting Uncle.

Would be good if we could get someone to confirm it is the same guy and not just someone with the same name.

You can find the NYtimes obituary here - brief excerpt below (but check out the link for the info about his wealth and VC investing).

I think it is likely someone who just has the same name - the irony would be just too delicious if this were Gene's brother.

I can confirm this is in fact Gene's elder brother. He was mentioned or maybe had contributed articles in some early issues of Gene's magazine Caveat Emptor and it was stated he was an executive at Johnson & Johnson. I'll see if I can find an old copy to post.

He clearly went on to be very successful which makes it hard to believe they brothers but they were.

Wow. I would've bet against that actually being Gene's brother. That's pretty incredible.

I gotta wonder, in Gene's case, what went wrong?

Here is the proof from Gene's magazine showing the brother with an asterisk showing the Johnson & Johnson connection

Bizarre. Possibly tragic even.

It might explain this tweet:

Gene Steinberg on Twitter

Since in the obit it mentions Wallace Steinberg having a son named Jeffrey. One can imagine him having learned not to lend money to Uncle Gene, but Gene deciding to ask for money but not really ask for money every now and again.

But I'm speculating. Might not be the same Jeffrey Steinberg.

I once saw someone mention Gene having a sister who is a lawyer, who had "cut him off" - I do not know if that is true either. Anyone know? I hesitate to even mention it since it seems like once an idea or possibility is tossed out some people like to run with it as a definite thing. But I thought someone said he seemed bitter about it once or something; Gene himself talks as though his close relations have all passed on. I don't know if he even ever had a sister.

(Thinking about it a bit more... if I were related to Gene and didn't want to see him homeless, but knew better than to give him a bunch of cash, I'd probably think staying in a motel of some sort was the best option so he could pay as you go and never burn anyone for more than maybe a night of lodging.)

Well if that obituary is to be believed he was in charge of spending a $378 million fund. Wouldn't really look good to have a grifting brother in the picture reputationally speaking - anything that spooks investors is bad for business.

Even if that were not the case I would hazard a guess that he realised what Gene was like early on (who knows you better than your relatives) and knew that any kind of association with him would be financial ruin.

Even if he really cared about him as the big brother, there are some cases where you can't help people even those that you love.

Doesn't matter how much money you have, someone like Gene is a bottomless pit, a black hole. If you gave him ten million dollars he would make it disappear and somehow also run up millions in debt.

I'm sure he could ruin someone like Bill Gates if given control of his finances.

Unfortunately many of us can't see his tweets as he has a tendency to block anyone that disagrees with him or even mentions his scamming. Do you have a screenshot?

So all this shows that Gene has close family who are extremely wealthy but refuse to even speak with him. I think that says a lot. They have all realised that any kind of contact with Schemey is damaging and simply not worth the trouble - hell even his son has left for Europe to avoid him. Yet I think despite this new revelation some people will continue to send money into the black hole and others will continue to defend him. Despite Schemey's protestations he is not our responsibility - he has put himself in this position and he is the one who keeps himself there. Sending him money, going on his show and "helping" him in any other way is nothing of the sort, all you are doing is enabling pathological behaviour and there are actual victims (like Torson) behind all of this.

The shadow

The shadow knows!
Gene's brother is deceased and out of the grift so should be left out of the discussion.
