Is there ever any good news anymore?

At Peace.
I have felt this way since childhood. Negativity was all around. Why?

My mom was the epitome of positive. I was moping one day about how everybody was upset about someting... hunger, or money, or wars, or watergate...

Mom opened the closet, pulled out a GALA Bat Kite, and said "Look areound.... everything is fine."

As I flew my kite, something about that flappy piece of plastic against the blue sky and puffy white clouds convinced me. All that negativity is nonsense really. She was right. None of hat stuff stopped us from having a good life.

Mom was cool that way.

That's how we are: it is that simple and complicated at the same time. But our reality and fears of others prevent us often from seeing positive things. We must remember about it all the time

5 days of sunshine in the forecast in our neck of the country. that is good news. in total 20' of snow last winter and record rains from early spring on. perhaps 2 hot days this summer. most of it felt like fall. cool temps. but the sun, when it shines, is warm. we live by one 'mantra' in particular, 'if it doesn't enhance our lives, let it go'.

I don't like winter. Miss it only when Xmas comes
I have relatives in Montreal and Ontario, they tell me it's cold over there

we embrace winter. truly enjoy the 'four seasons'. well in those years when there actually are four distinct seasons. lived in winnipeg manitoba for several years back in the 70's. -30 was the winter norm. assinaboine park was crowed with families tobogganing, gathering around a big bonfire, a vendor sell roasted chestnuts. indeed. winter is a fine time. with the grandchildren, and with our own when they were children , snow forts back yard skating rinks snow ball fights etc. dressed layered and enjoy we do.

My answer is not much.
Today I have found out my wife (ex) not yet divorced, is dating a new man. I wish her well, honestly, I truly do wish her love and good fortune, but it still hurts me all the same.
And today I have lost my best friend who has kept me alive since my ex of 28 years dumped me 20 months ago.
I quite literally have no one left i could call and say, hey lets watch a movie. My last friend I just lost.
I live alone out the bush in the end of a shed in a nice little unit and I know my kids love me, they are good boys. But I also know for sure if I died Monday, I would not be missed at least one week. After two they would say, have you seen Dad lately. By week three they would discover me dead on the floor. They are grown lads with their own lives to live, I don't blame them at all. I love them all to bits. It's just how life is.
But the sad truth is that at 55, in my world, all I have is Jack Daniels and old songs and the hope I will be able to keep going long enough for that one day in the future when one of my boys might need me for something.
Why are there oh so many lonely people on earth with no-one.
Why can' t the lonely people meet each other and not be lonely anymore.
I have so much Love to give I feel like I could explode. But no one wants it.
So again I face another night, with my friend Jack Daniels to keep me company.
Singing this same same song over and over, with images of...people in my head.
Not a nice day for me today, I am sorry.
I take it one day at a time, I can't see my life further than that. That's why this song means so much.
I am sorry to be down everyone, tomorrow I will regret posting this. But right now it is the closest thing I have to someone loving me and not being alone. A stupid sad old song by some stupid old dick head in the bush in Australia.

Can someone save me?
Please.

I knew you would see it Merle,
I am not meaning to be pretentious. I swear. But there are no words here that don't apply to me. I am no Johnny Cash, I am not worthy to be the dirt beneath his feet. But these words are my life. They haunt me.
Life is shit and then you die.

Arhhh... I reckon most people have their moments Dundee, otherwise we wouldn't be humans would we? The joke sounds good, as long as it's not one of those worn out Chicken Crossing The Road ones though I do have a joke for you which I know you'll get... lol...

Two neighbours were out the front of their houses chatting and watching the garbage trucks up the street picking up their garabge bins... One neighbour noticed that his neighbour he was talking to didn't have his bin out so he asked:

Neighbour 1: Where's you bin?

Neighbour 2: I bin on holiday..

Neighbour 1: No, I don't mean that, I mean, where's your wheelie bin?

Neighbour 2: Owhhh if you must know, I wheelie bin in jail...
