Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

Just saw this lol...

I have repeatedly asked Gene not to write me anymore, but from time to time he ignores me and sends me a short note, which always look pretty much like the one I got today. I have no problem sharing it here, as it was unsolicited... indeed, as noted, I asked Gene some time ago not to contact me further.

He almost sounds clueless enough to not get it. Almost. Nothing about that guy makes any sense.


Gene, you are the only one trying to twist the court records. And you know it. You would be better off just shutting up about it, because the more you lie, the worse you look.

Thanks for sharing this. On the one hand, it really doesn't surprise me that he sends you these kinds of messages but on the other I'm not entirely sure what Schemey hopes to accomplish by sending you them.

His "story" is completely refuted by the public records and yet he still seems to be trying to dispute it as if his "word" is somehow more legitimate than the objective evidence.

Not only that but he brazenly persists in sending you his unsolicited opinions (much like the unsolicited emails we get) like you are some kind of moron who is incapable of thinking for himself. All this in spite of you asking him to stop.

(NB - Many of us tried the same with asking him to stop sending us the begging emails and although it worked for a short time, when the fancy took him again he would restart. So we stopped bothering.)

Some would say the guy is delusional and actually believes his own falsehoods.

Whilst that is possible to some extent I think it is more likely that he considers everyone else so intellectually deficient compared to him that he can lie to them repeatedly and get away with it. His ego and sense of personal superiority really is that over inflated. - You will believe what the Great Gene wants you to believe and you will like it.

Maybe there is something cathartic for him in sending out these messages and he imagines that if he does it enough he will "win" much like with the email begging. - His problems become our problems whether we like it or not and there is no way to opt out despite the BS claims he makes to the contrary.

Like a textbook sociopath he doesn't care about anyone else and if he can derive some use out of others then all the better. He seems to think it is his right to bother people whenever he feels like it, whether it be to express his opinions or beg for money over his latest fake crisis. No wonder his own family cut him off -there is no reasoning with him in any regard and he will do whatever suits him no matter what the cost to others. The guy really is human excrement.

Sorry if this is a bit rambling but the shameless nerve of the guy makes me lose any semblance of rationality.

Outrageous twisting of court records? Not to my eyes and I had no particular reason to come to the matter prejudiced. FWIW.

Gene wants everyone to respect, praise and support him for the person he insists that he is: a science fiction author, the host and producer of radio shows, a technology guru and award-winning legitimate journalist.

This requires not only buying into every one of Gene's pretensions (and to be fair we all have them, especially if called upon to promote ourselves), but also ignoring all of his horrible behavior. Thus it is anathema to even mention his begging emails on the Paracast forum, where who Gene thinks he is must be upheld and respected, and none of the shady things that he does can ever be acknowledged: "Let's move on."

The truth as Jack Brewer has laid it all out is, IMHO, quite damning (and frankly angering) when set alongside the narrative provided by years and years of Gene's own emails and forum posts.

Gene's response then is that he is the victim of obsessed online trolls, a hate pack, who with no explanation and for no reason that Gene can give (and frankly were one given I have a hard time imagining it would make sense to anyone save for Gene and possibly J. Randall Murphy), are determined to sabotage his otherwise flourishing career and prosperous personal life. Does this make any sense? Only if you acknowledge who Gene claims to be, and ignore all that Gene has done.

Is it a need for attention that prompts him to email Paul Kimball? Does he really expect some kind of validation, understanding and apology? (Apology? If so an apology for what?) I don't get it but, it's just one more baffling transmission from Gene in his motel room space capsule, out there in an increasingly eccentric orbit of reality.

He seems to have really slowed down on the begging emails though so I'll still hope that represents some progress toward Gene no longer expecting to make his way by ripping people off, living on his terms and on the sympathies of his poor abused email lists.

I don't think there's any helping Gene, he'll keep getting away with whatever he can until enough breaks that he can't go any more. But I can and do hope his craziness doesn't ferret any more generous donations from the good hearted and under informed. There is no reason for anyone to give this man another dime, unless they really want to contribute to his next venture in squatting.

Like so many old Queens, poor old Gene can't believe he isn't living in his "same old-used-to-be." Face it. You talk like he does, yet find yourself diving for money in a McDonalds playroom, grifting your way to a greasy cheeseburger with your $1.08, and living in a series of bedbug palaces? Mmm. Hmm. You gotta be way more than just a li'l bit unhinged.

I can't believe it either. IMO most of these stories of woe are entirely fabricated. The only part that is true is his own greed sending him on a wild goose chase to get those dongs - and again that is not the story that he tells but what we have gotten from the the other party. I would not believe Gene if he said the sky was blue - I would have to go outside and check for myself first.

I know he has lied about some things, like the claim a "troll" got him evicted from the Desert Mirage, and in one case he cited an email as a "phishing" attempt that was nothing of the kind. Oh and, the whole claim about someone hacking his Twitter and posting his bank account info was just pure bullshit. And does anyone think he's been hacked as many times as he's claimed to have been hacked?

I feel safe assuming he's lied about or wildly exaggerated a lot of other things, too. Indeed I think it would be a mistake to imagine otherwise.

Exactly and he doesn't just lie in the usual way but often he takes a situation and skews it so that his victim becomes the perpetrator and he becomes the victim. - Indeed he seems to rewrite any event that is in the public record in this way as if people will believe him more than the written documents. I also think that Gene lies so much that he even lies in situations where there is no obvious gain beyond some kind of sick boost to his own ego.

I think the real question becomes how much of what he has said has ever been true? I would love to know, it would be fascinating to have a direct comparison between everything he has said and the actual reality. Sadly we will never get anything like that, - the closest thing we have are the eviction records, bankruptcy documents and the like.

Barb and Teddy Bear only exist to gain sympathy. He never mentions them.
note his begs dropped the storage locker plot line.
As for uber.. I offered to pay the storage locker fee for Gene directly to the company in exchange for his posting his uber driving logs.
it was never taken up on . I resended the offer . this shows Gene is not interested in paying for the items he begs for but only wants cash.

In my experience most people who claim to be scientific in this field are nothing of the sort. They just try to give a theatrical veneer of being scientific whilst being just as flawed in their approach as those who don't claim to be.

So it looks like the Paracast forum is a ghost town apart from illiterate people and spammers vomiting up this kind of thing, I mean how much effort does it take to break up your text into something that is readable?

And cranky old Gene can't even say thanks for actually posting something in my dead zone... by the way if you'd add some paragraph breaks I think it would be easier to read. He just has to bitch.
