Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

Well this is interesting. I wonder where he got the designs for these shirts, fiver or the like? It looks to me like they all have the Paracast logo. Hrm. Well hey, if people want these shirts, then here they are. They do strike me as overpriced but I feel like I see similar pricing sometimes, usually with periodic discounts or sales.

I suspect this latest effort falls under the heading of "too little, too late" but at least it appears to be a more or less honest effort.

As Above So Below

Thanks, I see nothing I would purchase, not just because of GS selling that stuff but simply put, I don't wear t-shirts with crap like that on them...I rarely wear t-shirts anyway, mainly front button shirts, but I never wear clothes that are nothing more than billboards for advertising with logos and whatnot on them...Also, I never wear any clothing made of plastic, I only wear cotton, wool, cashmere, or silk clothing...If you're wearing a polyester shirt you might as well be wearing a plastic garbage bag lol...That's just me...

Who designed that Paracast logo, anyone know? I feel like it's been around forever yet suspect that is my memory playing tricks on me.

Er, that is, I see similarly overpriced t-shirts on other websites, which seem to have sales or discounts going most of the time to make the product more affordable, but I assume also use the 'temporary' discount / sale tactic to motivate you to buy now. I dunno.

Anyway if there is a demand for this stuff here it is, at long last. ;)

With less than a handful of actual visitors per day (week?)--as opposed to the six figure number of robots and such that he seems to count as visitors for purposes of luring gullible advertisers--nobody needs to worry or wonder about the pricing. It's moot. He's all done; he just doesn't get it.

I can’t imagine anyone other than a member buying these crappy shirts. As there are only single individuals appearing at the Paracast website these days, I wouldn’t hold out for any mega-sales.

Well it's an improvement over the stuff that was on there, I'll give him that. I'm sure O'Brien is pleased to see he's no longer pictured on any of it. Anyway, the way that stuff works, this storefront would likely have been marginal in terms of income (as in barely worth the bother) two years ago, when the boards were still active and the podcast worth listening to. After he has killed both and chased off his audience? I doubt if he sells a dozen shirts this year.

I wonder sometimes, does Steinberg realize or acknowledge to himself that he has totally wrecked his beloved websites? In order to quiet any dissent, he has driven off all the members he once had. That seems like a high price to pay. The income he once made has now dried up forever, never to return. How could he be so stupid??

You need to understand that the way Steinbeg sees the world is different to most other people. Nothing is ever his fault. Everything he does is right. If there are less people using the Parasite or listening to his podcast it is someone else's fault - the haters, the stalkers, the guy in the next room, Facebook, Twitter - anything or anyone he can think of except for him. He is beyond reproach or criticism. He is the first perfect person in all of history.

He's not stupid, but make no mistake, he's mentally ill.

This is not news, but it's getting worse as he gets older. He lives in deep denial, in pretty much every way.

I don't envy Gene, we all hope none of us ends up like that pathetic shitstain.

That said, may he get all the bad shit he ever put out into the world revisited upon him a thousandfold. May Karma render him limbless, sick and alone.

I'll admit I wasn't paying close attention to the Paracast at the time but, my impression was that participation / interest dropped off once O'Brien bailed. Gene's behavior following that - flailing around on their forum, heavy-handed banning and editing posts, reading private messages, blatant lies, attacking critics, all while kicking the shameless begging into higher gear - I think that disgusted almost anyone who was still left. Well, apart from a few well-known deviants.

I keep going back to, it seems like Chris O'Brien's participation in the Paracast propped GS up and enabled GS to keep the swindle machine running for quite awhile. And without him, the wheels came off and GS just kept making things worse.

He's a narcissist and…a few other things. That's how.

CO actually irritated me but I kept coming back. That's a compliment, sort of, I think ..... pretty sure ....

The plain vanilla watered down drek it's become does not hold my interest. If they lure John B Alexander back I'd download that show just to see what he has to say, or if they got Luis Elizondo or Tom DeLonge for that matter. Somehow I don't think that's on the schedule. There would still be gratuitous pop-culture-probably-Supergirl references, and JRM would take exception to the way somebody said 'hello' or some equally relevant point and dwell on it excessively.

You are probably right David. Steinberg is about the only human I know of who can never admit he is wrong (about anything). It seems like some sort of mental problem, to be sure.

As he famously says, “Let’s move on!”
