5G Streetlights Causing Mysterious Ailments?

They put in some LED street lights where I live and they are absolutely awful. I live on a corner, and one of the roads used to have sodium vapour lights and the other had another type which provided a fairly pleasant warm-white glow. On a clear winter's night I used to be able to see Orion's nebula without special aids.

Without any public consultation or forewarning, the local council ripped the old ones out and put LED lamps in their place. The new lamp posts are more than thirty feet tall, much taller than the old ones. They produce a very harsh, cold white light which confuses the local bird population into thinking that it is daytime in the middle of the night.

That's what I've heard and read, those new lights are higher up and flood with more light, a cold, chilling light that seems completely alien to the surroundings...I hope to god I never see those lights where I live but now I'm very concerned about the 5g wireless network in the talks and planning, I do not want to be immersed in that...I do have a faraday cage under construction for my workshop, I may have to enclose my house as well or move to the mountains sooner than I planned when I retire...

Speaking about lights, this may have been a 5g light, I don't know, I do know this; two years ago a country veterinarian office was built a 1/4 mile from my house, not on the same road but on a main country road at the 1/4 mile mark of my house, I live on a dead end road...Anyway, with winter set in all the trees with no leaves, I can see that vet office from my house past the meadow and through a forest of trees past that, I cannot see it during the summer months...Well that vet office just recently put up a bright as hell light above their parking lot, I never saw it until last night, its so damn bright its a real eye sore at night when I'm out with my dog. I have no street lights on my road and the main road has a few but spread out so far, it is very very dark here where I live at night and I love it that way...I can see so many stars and everything in the sky, until that vet office put that bright light up...I called them today and complained it was way too bright and very intrusive at night around here, we are not the city, this is forest and country land, I asked them to please do something about this...I got a phone call back not an hour ago from the owner of the vet office, she apologized and said she was having the maintenance manager change the light tomorrow and if there was still a problem after that change to please call her back and discuss...

In a situation like that it's better to say something than not. Would tilting it downward fix the problem?

I was not expecting such an immediate response and a positive one too, I was very nice to them about it when I initially called...It appears the light is just below the tree line, if it was summer I probably would not see much of that light either, at least not directly, perhaps a glow from it...I think its too bright, I can see it off in the distance tonight, just stepping out on my porch...Its light pollution where its situated west of me, but doesn't affect my night sight if I am looking the opposite direction, any other directions I can see it in my peripheral vision...

That's a fairly common problem. It's great the owners of the light were so receptive to doing something about it. There are many ways to deal with it. A different light fixture could give them all the illumination they want for their parking area or whatever, without disturbing the neighbors. There are modern designs made to do just that. They are not the cheapest, but light pollution is a real problem and it can be very annoying. There are strict regulations about that in some places, like out here in the Rockies.

We had a neighbor across the alley in the last house we lived in, who had a bare bulb on the back porch that annoyed me. I was always going to go over and see what could be done about it, but that was not a nice family. It would not have surprised me if I'd complained and offered to help fix it only to have them leave it on all the time once they knew it was annoying someone. Mostly it was not turned on, but sometimes it would be left on all night. When the trees leafed out, it didn't bother me.

It seems like we are mixing two subjects on this thread.

5G Cellular reuses about the same bands as LTE, except for frequency range 2 (24 GHz). This is for short range high bandwidth. Don't see a convincing argument that 5G is worse that LTE.

5G LED are efficient LED lamps that come in a range of color.

The two topics are unrelated.

The street lamps that people are complaining should be able to be replaced with yellower LED lights.

I don't know, I have been using led lighting in my house for years now, That sickly white glow type of Led just sucks, I'm a strong believer that lighting not only can set a mood but it can change the way a person feels. I don't like those pale white LEDs, They simply suck.

Never been a fan of yellowish lights myself. Those old orange sodium things lighting parking lots and such were just weird, efficient as they were. Don't like the blue LEDs much either, unless I'm doing surgery on some ailing equipment. I usually look for the ones marketed as "daylight" or "natural", around 4000K. We've pretty much converted to LED in the house. I've installed some nice fixtures that don't even use bulbs anymore. Just some LEDs on a circuit board, behind a traditional looking globe. Pretty neat, and they hardly use any power.

in case people did not know it,
all the white LED lights are a blue LED light with a phosphor coating to convert to white light.
so this means that the most efficient white LED lights are going to be the ones bordering on the blue side.
and that is why cities use them, they are going for that extra 10% or so efficiency

Yep this is true and that frequency of LED lighting is not good for the human eyes, its used for lighting the screens on our phones, tablets, televisions...Incandescent lighting is the closest to sunlight which is most beneficial to the eyes, even CFL/florescent lighting is not a good frequency of light for our eyes...

Well they haven't done anything yet, its getting dark outside and I can see that thing lit up, but it has been raining literally all day nonstop and the next few days to a week we are having bad weather, so I'm not going to push the issue...I'll give it some time and see if they get it sorted out, if there is intent on actually doing something, they may have been blowing smoke up my arse, time will tell...

There is no reason to produce sickly white.

How a Philips light bulb uses blue LEDs to produce white light - ExtremeTech

The lights either are supposed to come with a remote phosphor shield that converts some of the blue to yellow or a remote shield can be fitted on them.

So to follow up on this issue I had with an overly bright outside light, in the past week I've spoken to the maintenance manager of the veterinarian clinic a couple of times and he spoke with his electrician and they installed a hood over the light to redirect the light downward...They installed this yesterday so last night I had a look and it worked, the light is no longer intrusive on my property, it's nice and dark outside at night again like it should be...I'm very pleased with how everything was handled and with the results, I called and thanked them and on Monday I'm buying them lunch of their choice...

With 5g, The governments of the world would be able to literally microwave people to death in less than a minute. Imagine what a hacker or a terrorist could do with it?

I dread it's coming honestly. I mean think about it guys? a signal so powerful, that it's standing wavelength can charge devices and do away with batteries? yes, They could literally target and fry individual people, It's terrifying. :(

Brussels Becomes First Major City to Halt 5G Due to Health Effects

The statement was made by Céline Fremault, the Minister of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, responsible for Housing, Quality of Life, Environment and Energy. From an interview last Friday, with L’Echo:

“I cannot welcome such technology if the radiation standards, which must protect the citizen, are not respected, 5G or not. The people of Brussels are not guinea pigs whose health I can sell at a profit. We cannot leave anything to doubt.”

– Céline Fremault, Minister of the Government (Brussels-Captial Region), responsible for Housing, Quality of Life, Environment and Energy

Ms. Fremault accurately identified that a 5G pilot project is not compatible with Belgian radiation safety standards (9 V/m, or 95 mW/m2 according to this online converter), and stated that she does not intend to make an exception. (In the Building Biology guidelines, the threshold for extreme concern is 1 mW/m2. However, many government agencies still only consider thermal effects, instead of the cumulative body of thousands of peer-reviewed scientific studies.)

Perhaps with Brussels heading up the European Union, and with one of the two major 5G appeals being addressed to the EU, officials there are better informed and motivated to protect themselves.

the 95 mW/m2 is what was just posted as to what the 5G is,
my older TriField meter reads 1 mW/m2 at the TOP of the scale.
and we know that numbers as low as 0.02mW/m2 can affect cells, at 0.1mW/m2 it will effect cells (but we don't exactly know how)

at least it will not be hard to measure if you are inside 5G coverage.

This 5G technology is a huge power increase, no doubt also a huge radiation hazard, jeez...
