And another one in Dayton, OH.

We were just talking about this over coffee. A copy of the latest Guns & Ammo is sitting on the kitchen table. Haven't paid for it in two years - just on some subscription list that never ends. On the cover is yet another AR style rifle - this one being billed as a 'recce pistol' whatever the F that is. I heard Wolf Blitzer asking the Chief LEO in El Paso about 'bump stocks' and 'what can be done' and to my surprise his answer was concealed carry - and that it had already saved dozens of lives in Texas. That caught me off guard.

Guns simply aren't going away and aren't going to be confiscated, at least in this country. Even if we did there would be secondary economic effects - lots of $$ in that industry. Unlikely. Personally, I'd like to see the firearms industry do more to visibly support training, education, hunting than make more 'recce pistols' that have only one purpose. I'd like to see the entire board of directors of the NRA be sent as the first Mars colonists. But pointing to the weapons and various features as the root of the problem is a distraction. I won't argue that I'd like to snap my fingers and make a lot of them disappear but don't think that even begins to address the real issue. A variation on the 'my spoons made me fat' argument.

Almost universally the profile is a young disaffected white male and we'll eventually find he had some sort of online manifesto or odd behavior that we will all be aware of before long - that no doubt could be interpreted as warning signs. When you think about it much of the entertainment young people consume a lot of it is quite graphic and violent and even involves shooting up rooms full of people. Even our superheroes are shooting at each other. Crap, I was flipping through the channels watching John Wick last night and thought that even the parents of kids like that are steeped in the same violent bullshit. When I was a kid a movie like that would be given an X rating for the extreme violence.

Couple access to firearms with the immediacy and lack of social responsibility in anonymous online communication and I can see how a young kid with problems could be twisted. Our society teaches kids to dehumanize the world around them either through social media, the games played or what's on TV.

‘Death Camps For Trump Supporters’ Fliers Posted in New York
So much for the tolerant left.

Numerous fliers that say “death camps for Trump supporters now!!!” have been posted on street posts and parking meters in Patchogue, New York.

The fliers feature the threatening text in red and a stylized image of Trump’s face as a skeleton.

The fliers were “hanging across the street from Stanley’s Bedding Furniture on East Main Street, between Maple Avenue and North Ocean Avenue,” according to MSN News.

The photos were taken by a member of the Shock Theater collective, a group that lays on haunted house tours and horror scenarios, but the company said it was not responsible for creating or posting the fliers.

Suffolk County police said they weren’t alerted to the fliers, which now appear to have been removed.

Huge power cut paralyses Britain: Millions are affected as blackouts hit homes, airports, trains and even traffic lights across the country after 'failure of the National Grid' sparks chaos - and anger

The blackouts have plunged large swathes of the UK into chaos, including London and the South East, as well as the Midlands and the North West. In London, commuters were plunged into darkness on the Victoria Line (centre) while traffic lights in Battersea lost power in scenes described as 'apocalyptic' by those affected (bottom-left). Train services in and out of London, including Thameslink (inset), Southern and Gatwick Express are facing delays and cancellations. Passengers have also been left waiting on planes in Luton and Newcastle (top-right, offices were also left without power), with the former airport also affected by flooding this afternoon.

Elsewhere in Derbyshire, homes have been left entirely without power with one resident telling MailOnline of burglar alarms going off and police sirens in the area. UK Power Networks, Western Power Distribution in the Midlands and Northern Powergrid all reported outages - which were due to a failure on National Grid's network (bottom-right, the outage affects a fish and chip shop in Cornwall). Police have been drafted in to deal with the outages, which have stopped traffic lights in areas including London, Manchester and Gateshead, near Newcastle (left, the outage in Cheshire). After an investigation, the National Grid Electricity System Operator found that issues with two generators caused a loss of power across parts of the UK but the issue is now 'resolved'.

If he tried to kill himself recently he would have been under constant observation. I believe they get checked on every fifteen minutes and they're on camera.

It seems that across the board there are so many public figures demanding to know how this could have happened...

It doesn't sound plausible to me. I think they were probably hacked but, of course they would never admit that publicly.
