Jeez - how can you put 100+ pounds of meat anywhere and let it decompose without any smell ? Maybe that's letting us know what the rest of the No Frills supermarket was like

People Are Overdosing on Wasp Spray in West Virginia

Several people in a county in West Virginia recently overdosed from wasp spray, which they used as an alternative to methamphetamine, according to news reports.

Police in Boone County say they've seen a rise in residents abusing wasp spray to achieve a meth-like high, according to local news outlet WCHS. The practice is believed to have played a role in three overdoses in the county last week, WCHS reported. "People are making a synthetic type [of] methamphetamine out of wasp spray," Sgt. Charles Sutphin, of the West Virginia State Police, told WCHS.

The practice is known as "wasping," and it has emerged as a concerning drug trend in recent years, according to a 2018 report from ABC News. Users either combine the wasp spray with meth, or use the spray by itself as a meth substitute.

People can crystallize the spray liquid on hot metal sheets, which allows the substance to be inhaled or injected, ABC News reported.

Bug sprays contain active ingredients called pyrethroids, which stun and kill insects; but in humans, the chemicals can interfere with nerve signaling, which can lead to abnormal sensations, and in some cases, seizures or paralysis, ABC News reported. The chemicals can also lead to increased heart rate, difficulty breathing, headache, nausea, problems with coordination, and swelling and burning sensations.

Police in Boone County are working with medical centers to determine the best treatment for those who abuse the spray, WCHS reported.

Frank Meza: A tragic ending overshadows a doctor's life and legacy

So I forgot about this story so went to see if there were any updates. The only thing I saw In this article it mentioned that he died from an apparent suicide. I assume toxicology reports will be forthcoming and it showed a picture of where he was found. I can only say that being he was a doctor he would probably know and get the substances which would give him a realativly fast and painless death but as I said, that's an assumption.

Wolves travel in packs, right? This, for me, is bizarre news...

Lone wolf (trait) - Wikipedia
In the animal kingdom, lone wolves are typically older female wolves driven from the pack, perhaps by the breeding male, or young adults in search of new territory. Many female wolves between the ages of one to four years old leave their family to search for a pack of their own. This has the effect of preventing inbreeding as there is typically only one breeding pair in a wolf pack. Very few wolves will simply remain lone wolves; as such, these lone wolves may be stronger, more aggressive and far more dangerous than the average wolf that is a member of a pack. However, lone wolves have difficulty hunting, as wolves' favorite prey, large ungulates, are troublesome for a single wolf to bring down alone. Instead, lone wolves will generally hunt smaller animals and scavenge

Thanks, I was thinking that maybe it had rabies or distemper. Here's this camper doing everything right and still gets attacked in his sleep. Pretty scary.

They shut down the entire park.

'TV Santa' puts old TVs on scores of US porches

It was kind of like Christmas - except it was August, the only presents were vintage television sets and Santa had a TV on his head.

Residents of more than 50 households in Henrico County, in the US state of Virginia, woke up this past weekend to find old-style TVs outside their doorsteps, said Matt Pecka, a lieutenant with the local police department.

Pecka said police began receiving reports about the TVs early on Sunday. By the morning, their phones were clogged with calls.

"Everyone started coming out of their houses, walking around the neighborhood looking at the TVs there on the doorstep," said Jeanne Brooksbank, one of the recipients, who lives in the Hampshire neighbourhood. "It was very Twilight Zone."

Each home received exactly one TV, carefully placed so it faced inward toward the door, Brooksbank said. Some deliveries were caught on residents' doorbell cameras - and that's where things got truly bizarre.

The givers had TVs instead of faces.

The home videos reveal at least one of the deliverymen: a man dressed in a blue jumpsuit, black gloves and what appear to be brown hiking-style boots. He wears a TV set on his shoulders, positioned so it obscures his face.

Pecka said police believe he had a helper: another man in a white jumpsuit who also wore a TV as he made deliveries.

"We determined there was no credible threat to residents and that this was strictly an inconvenience," Pecka said. "It was" - long pause - "unique."

After borrowing a truck from the county's Solid Waste department, a half-dozen police officers collected the television sets in about an hour Sunday, Pecka said. The county will recycle them.

There was no additional cost to residents, and the incident didn't impair normal police activity, Pecka said. The department doesn't plan to investigate further, he said, although officials encourage residents to contact police if it happens again.

Man’s truck stolen while he was robbing store across the street, police say

KENNEWICK, Wash. (Gray News) - After reporting his truck stolen, a Washington man was arrested because investigators determined he had been inside a store, robbing it, during the theft.

William Kelley, 42, reported his Chevrolet pickup truck had been stolen Sunday morning, according to a report from the Kennewick Police Department. Kelley said he had left his keys on the front seat while looking for a nearby bathroom.

An unidentified man on a 10-speed bike rode by the truck, discovered Kelley’s keys, put his bike in the bed and drove away.

On 8-25-2019 at about 6:00AM, KPD responded to the area of the 500 block of E Bruneau for an auto theft that had just occurred. The owner of the vehicle, William Kelley, was reporting that someone just stole his red 1992 Chevy pickup with maroon canopy, WA license B96531X. He had left his keys on the seat. A male riding a 10-speed rode by and discovered the keys and then threw his back bike in the bed of the truck and fled. Video was obtained of the incident and a new fact was discovered. Kelley was at the location because he was stealing items from a business across the street. Kelley was booked into the jail in the AM hours on a warrant and subsequently a new charge of Burglary was added. Kelley's vehicle has still not been located. Any assistance with locating the truck or the identify the car thief, please call KPD reference case number 19-33651.

Kelley told police he had been at the tavern Saturday night and went home with friends, leaving the truck there. But upon watching surveillance video from the tavern, investigators determined that was not the case.

Instead, police said Kelley arrived at the location about 5:30 a.m. He is accused of then going into a business across the street from the tavern to burgle it.

While he was inside, allegedly stealing items, his truck was stolen. Police confirmed the car theft with surveillance video.

Kelley was arrested on an outstanding warrant and booked with a new charge of burglary.

That's just dumb. I can't see the video cause it's FB so, forgive me if I'm missing something. Why didn't he get the heck out of the area, call a taxi, cause we know he had cash, and then report the stolen vehicle later. What a stupid criminal. Wish they were all that dumb. lol

A monitoring station that was 72 feet underwater in the Baltic Sea is missing. The only thing left was a shredded cable as if something removed it with great force.

A man dressed as Captain America busted for burglary. There's a video in the link. It looks like he's turned to a life of crime. :(
- Coast to Coast AM
Mississippi man inexplicably clad in a Captain America costume was busted for allegedly trying to break into somebody's shed. According to a local media report, the foiled caper occurred in the city of Clarksdale early Tuesday morning. According to authorities, David Hobbs set off an alarm at around 3 AM as he was attempting to get inside of a shed located behind a man's home.

Unfortunately for the faux superhero, he picked the wrong shed to target as it just so happened to belong to a man who was both a former marine and a retired corrections officer. Roused from his sleep by the racket outside, the homeowner grabbed his gun and became something of a crime fighter himself as he not only stopped Hobbs in his tracks and kept him on the property until cops arrived.

What makes this otherwise routine criminal matter quite bizarre is that Hobbs was decked out from head to toe in a Captain America costume. Compounding his confounding sartorial choice is that he was also apparently wearing a pair of fairy wings as well. Why, exactly, he donned the outfit is a maddening mystery that we can only hope somehow gets solved should the burglary charges against him wind up going to trial.
