Went to a car meet last night and met a friend. The red car is a '63 Galaxie 500. My buddy parks it in his garage next to his '70 Plum Krazy Challenger 440/6-pack. Original owner on both, took them home from the dealership himself and still has every scrap of paper.

Fun little meet. Been trying to get to at least one this year and it hasn't worked out. A bit different being out at night in that thing. Fortunately I fixed all the lighting already. THAT took some doing - electrical switches with rubber air hoses on them. jeez.

The Andromeda galaxy is 6 times bigger in the sky than the full Moon: it's just too dim to see with the naked eye. This is what it would look like at night if it was just brighter.

Some things should be restored. Maybe not that one .... grass, mud, time = death to a car.
Then there are time machines that never age.

I have never seen this thing outside my friend's garage so last night was a very rare treat. I get bored with car meets because it's all just variations on a theme. Mostly fat old white men who are very cliquish. This one was different and is probably the last casual meet of the year. Getting dark early and these old cars can be a bit dim to tool around it at night.

This is a friend of mine and a week or two ago I posted pics with his '63 Galaxie 500. Same this. Original owner, original everything.

This is his 1970 Challenger R/T 440 6-pack, 727 auto. Original owner, original build sheet, window sticker and even a space saving 'collapsible spare tire' with the little rubber nubbins still on the damned thing. I've never seen an all original survivor in this condition still owned by the man that bought it new. Probably a $75K car. He has always been slightly disappointed with it because he considers this engine option a poor choice compared to the 426 Hemi but he couldn't get one at the time. Jeez. It is a stone bitch to get all three carbs cooperating.

Note the large mean looking Harley dude you can just see in the background. Why do I get all the damned kooks? This guy waited the better part of an hour for me to get back to my car just to make a number of surprisingly aggressive comments. Don't know what the hell his problem is other the the lack of teeth. I was wondering if it might escalate into a situation in which he might up with one or two fewer teeth but we made good our escape. Went for ice cream. Chocolate dip cone.
