What a strange broadcast this must have been..:huh8:

“Realize this, extremely violent times will come,” a man’s voice boomed, according to a video of the alert.

Some Orange County residents were stunned Thursday, Sept. 21, when television programming was suddenly interrupted for about a minute with an ominous message predicting the end of the world.

Stacy Laflamme of Lake Forest said she was watching the HGTV channel via Cox Communications about 11:05 a.m. when suddenly an emergency alert flashed across her screen followed by a voice.

“Realize this, extremely violent times will come,” a man’s voice boomed, according to a video of the alert.

I think this was before that, before the 23rd non-event...

There was also a nationwide test yesterday on the emergency broadcast system....(or whatever it is now).....at 1420. It had people paranoid too. In the case of this video perhaps it was part of this test.

This took place before that alleged broadcast you mentioned...

It was another nutter. I imagined the whole ordeal.
No lost sleep here for me, just another nutter.

At our age we've been through 6 or so well known ends of the world....(like 2012)....lol.

I think there's been a dozen other minor ones that the sky is falling brigade never caught hold of.

I reckon should the little Korean nutter be stupid enough to launch a Nuke on a neighbor, I don't reckon the US would nuke him back. They would wipe the silly little man ff the map, but I don't reckon they would use nukes. They wouldn't have too. They would decimate him with conventional weapons, make there point and be praised for restraint.
That's my worst case.

Yep, you lose count after the first few.
My Dad used to say when I was young and got scared, "There like too dogs barking viciously through a fence, open the gate and all they will do is smell each others Bum and walk off

i just get really upset for the young folks who are going through this stuff for the first time. Us old buggers just say, oh shit, here we go again....now...whats for tea?
But I remember being a kid in the cold war and Jesus I lost some sleep during those years.
First time end of worlders get really scared, and that's awful for them. They should be worrying about the batteries in their X-Box controller going flat.. My advice kids is turn the TV to the cartoons and forget about it all.

Yes, born 1925, and like so many of that generation oh so much wisdom if you took the time to listen, or ask.
I would still go to him for advice as a 40+ year old father of four. Mum was the same.
I miss them both so much, not only because they were mum and dad, but for the....safeness they brought to my life just by their presence.
Even at 40+ you just sort of new everything was going to be OK with mum and dad around.
Some lucky folks like me have, or have had, family like that.
I miss them very much.
I hope one day my kids feel that way about me.
If they do, I will say thanks mum and dad.
I miss you both. xxx
