Divine
Wrong Again: 50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions

SUMMARY

Modern doomsayers have been predicting climate and environmental disaster since the 1960s. They continue to do so today.

None of the apocalyptic predictions with due dates as of today have come true.

What follows is a collection of notably wild predictions from notable people in government and science.

More than merely spotlighting the failed predictions, this collection shows that the makers of failed apocalyptic predictions often are individuals holding respected positions in government and science.

While such predictions have been and continue to be enthusiastically reported by a media eager for sensational headlines, the failures are typically not revisited.

I agree, although there are looming issues like microplastics steadily smothering out nature...The global warming 'crisis' about fizzled out (that should get a few responses) as we now head for a mini ice age...I once looked at all the reports for the last hundred years of global cooling and global warming scares in the news, boy what a flip flop every decade or so lol...

Good Lord. You couldn't possibly be suggesting that people in positions of authority, likely with impressive credentials and titles, can ever possibly be wrong about something? How will I sleep at night?

Paul Ehrlich proclaimed his most alarmist scenario for the 1970 Earth Day issue of The Progressive, confident that between 1980 and 1989, over four billion people around the world would perish in what he called the Great Die-Off...

Here's a winner, instead of riding the global warming wagon he went to the opposite extreme lol...

In 1970 Kenneth Watt warned about a pending Ice Age in a speech. “The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years,” he declared. “If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”

getting ready for warming is easy, from what I am told, a global tax scheme is sufficient.
but getting ready for an ice age is much harder. it is way to big of a problem to need only political solutions, it involves actual science.

I am doubtful our society as a whole could properly prepare and survive an ice age of any serious magnitude, our society is geared more for surviving some warming though...An ice age could really thin out our species in particular, there would be pockets of survivors, small groups could withstand the cold, masses wouldn't survive the long haul, not only because of resources but psychologically...There would be greater incidents of violence and uprisings if large masses of people tried to get through an ice age, small groups bond more and work together more than larger masses...

This climate fear mongering goes back 120 years lol...

120 years of climate scares

Scientists seeking funding and journalists seeking an audience agree: panic sells.

“Global cooling is going to kills us all!” “No, wait: global warming is going to kill us all!”

All that’s missing is a back-and-forth of “You shut up!” “No, you shut up!” That is reserved for those who doubt the need for panic.

That’s the gist of an amazing chronology of the last 120 years of scare-mongering on climate.
