09/20/17 - During a peaceful night in the countryside, I set up my Sony a7s camera outside to record the stars, the Milky Way and some meteors (got one in this video!). I made lots of short 30 second clips under different angles, at different places to have a big folder of night sky videos to review later.
When I checked the footage on my PC and reviewed this clip, I noticed three moving objects at the top left side of the frame. I quickly understood these were not meteors but flying objects.
Their speed was constant and their direction seemed linear. They really looked like satellites so I immediately checked Sky Guide (an app on the iPhone to watch satellites flying live - you can use websites for this too) to see if anything flied above my position at the precise time I got this on video. NOTHING was showing in the app. I double checked online and didn't see anything close to what I saw at this time. I was facing West.
These things were incredibly silent and solid white. No light fluctuation was visible, suggesting these were not satellites reflecting sunlight. They were fully bright for 30 seconds straight.
Note that I obviously wasn't in front of my cam during their apparition, so I didn't see anything. Otherwise I would have kept filming them!
Either these are unknown & unregistered crafts/satellites flying above our atmosphere, either these are unknown objects flying closer to the ground. Military prototypes? Natural phenomena (not really...). For now I'll call these UFOs.
Tell me what you think in the comments.
► SOME EXTRA INFO:
This video was shot with a Sony a7s. As you can see, this camera literally beats usual night-vision equipment: P8079HP tube, NV monoculars.. but also 99,9% of todays cameras. Its ISO capability is the most amazing any camera has ever known. You can record up to ISO 409,600. To me, and for my use of it, ISO 64,000 is clean and usable, with low noise. Couple this cam with a decent lens with a fast aperture, and you're ready for nocturnal UFO hunting.
Everyone here might not be used to such high sensitivity cameras filming UFOs, so I better tell you why the video looks so clean and bright! I really hope more and more sightings will be made with such cameras, and that we progressively stop using regular night vision, which doesn't get close to this in terms of quality.
If you have any further questions about my equipment, feel free to ask!
