Reminds me of the way some people accelerate the speed on some YouTube videos so they don't get caught for copyright infringement.

it basically is, In fairness to the uploader and editor, I once Got copyright struck in a video That only used my voice and some pictures from google. The real problem is, Youtube once upon a time didn't have its own automated copyright system, instead, they were allowing anyone who wanted to strike someone else. I was copyright claimed by Michio Kaku for just mentioning one of his theories and critiquing it. While I doubt Kaku personally did this claim, His organization did, because Kaku has this "curiosity stream ordeal" So., Literally. Just speaking the word science and theory on YT puts someone in danger of a strike by these bigger entities that just chase after every dollar they can. My own work my own voice, my own opinions were struck and No, I was unable to ever get that video monetized. unfortunately, Youtube is a business it's all monetization and money, some people get so big in their respective categories. They literally think they own science, its a sad greedy world we live in.

Seeing you guys talking about Fringe prompted me to watch all five seasons again. That's some damn fine television; just the right balance of imagination, action, and drama among interesting characters. I wish there were something this refreshing on television these days.

I was never thrilled with Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop though - he did a fine job as an actor, but I feel like he was just wrong for the part. Like he should've been more intense and edgy, but that boyish face and gentle manner just didn't sell the character for me. And I didn't sense any electricity between Peter and Olivia, so their romance never felt as epic as it could have.

And something about the way the final season played out left me cold; the climax was oddly anticlimactic. But maybe that was just the disappointment of the show ending.

Right now I'm watching the pivotal episode, Peter, in which Walter abducts the Peter from the other universe.
Very cool!

I was an avid fan of the X-Files during its original run. But since then, it seems dated to me. By contrast, Fringe seems fresh to me, even though it's a few years old.

Another observation. Whether it was CGI or makeup, the producers did a pretty good job in this episode of making the relevant characters look genuinely younger than they really were.

Fringe still feels fresh to me as well when I watched some older episodes, the same goes for Stargate SG1 and Game of Thrones episodes I've viewed recently...

I was also a big X Files fan. What I like about Fringe, however, is that it sticks strictly to science and avoids the supernatural genre. I also love the fact that Fringe, with the exception of Season 5, takes place here in present day earth in ordinary places.

I mean, instead of getting on board a spaceship or a space station, they can find ways to hop over to another universe through a soft spot in an old opera house. How cool is that?

I never really watched the X-files, maybe bits of pieces of a couple episodes but that's it...

I enjoyed this show. I think Walter Bishop, ("the mad scientist") is an awesome character. He is quirky and random, and the interactions between him and his son are fun to watch. Fringe is destined to be a cult classic sci-fi series if it hasn't already. Those who have watched from beginning to end know already that the series is one of few that truly creates and builds it's own world(s), it's own mythology - all of the great things that make a sci-fi a true sci-fi, you can find it here.

There are so many wonderful things to enjoy about Fringe, it can be truly mind-numbing as you're taken on a trip that traverses alternate universes, travels through time, this show will take you from a mellow "Brown Betty" high to edge-of-your-seat fear. Fringe is simply a great show.

After the season 2 finale, where Olivia is trapped in the other universe, I got nervous and refrained from watching the show for a week. But I've restarted now. I'm actually enjoying the beginning of season 3.

Somewhat false advertising. There weren't all that many songs.
Anyway, the woman who played Astrid was the best singer.

I watched this episode last night, I never saw it before, but yeah it was Meh...Could have been better with the music, but Astrid is a very good singer...

When they rebooted the X-Files, I went out and purchased the first three seasons of episodes. It didn’t hold up as I remembered it and some episodes looked dated.

I'm presently watching another pivotal episode, Entrada. It takes place immediately following the discovery that Fauxlivia had been impersonating Olivia....Intense!

I just watched an amazing episode, The Day We Died. It's the finale of season three in which
Peter is erased from existence in the present and future, as well as in the past, so that only the Observers can remember him!
I would consider such a result as worse than death.

I'd just like to say I admire Anna Torv's ability to portray two very similar, yet subtly different characters, namely Olivia and Fauxlivia. They definitely appear to have different personalitie,s in spite of being counterparts of each other.

Anna Torv said in interviews that it was indeed very difficult to portray the subtle differences. In many ways it almost seemed as if Fauxlivia was the more normal one because Olivia at times would become so intense and obsessive.

It's interesting how their childhood environments made such a difference. The fact that Olivia saw herself as the protector of her younger sister and eventually her niece and grew up without a mother clearly molded her outlook on life. Fauxlivia, being an only child with a supportive mother, was allowed to have a more traditional childhood.
