Disney is Kicking Netflix's Ass!

Disney+ is rapidly taking over Netflix's turf.
I can attest to that. I quit Netflix and have signed up to the "triple crown": Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu for only $12.99/month!

Netflix May Have Lost More Than 1 Million Subscribers to Disney+ in November

More than 1 million people, at least according to a newly released analyst report, may have migrated from Netflix to Disney+ last month.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, the estimates from a Cowen & Co. report suggest that Netflix "lost 1.1 million subscribers to Disney+" in November. The company polled 2,500 consumers in the U.S., with 21 percent of those surveyed stating they had signed up for a Disney+ subscription.

An estimated 5.8 percent of Netflix subscribers are suggested to have canceled their subscriptions after signing up for Disney's service, while an estimated 19.4 million of those polled are described as "dual subscribers" accounting for an 80 percent overlap between Netflix and Disney+.

Netflix, however, is—quite understandably—not really sweating any of this. Not only does a reported subscriber move not signify anything that's necessarily permanent (i.e. those same people could easily sign up for Netflix again), but Netflix has also been dealing with other forms of competition for years now.

"So, fundamentally, there is not a big change here," Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said during a recent earnings call, per THR. "All of us are competing with linear TV and we're all relatively small to linear TV." Hastings also pointed to competition like Amazon Prime, YouTube, and Hulu.

An early boost to Disney+'s success, of course, has been the largely excellent Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Breakout star Baby Yoda has subsequently enjoyed the dual glories of near-constant memeification and a popular petition calling for Apple to make some new emoji in the tiny hero’s honor.

Yeah, Disney plus is new and all, But I've had Disney plus, They have the Mandalorian and gravity falls, And a few other things, They don't have even a fraction of the content Netflix has for the price, and Hulu. Meh Hulu. To be fair, the only way Disney plus is kicking Netflixes ass right now is it's the new guy with a little tiny bit of fresh content. It astonishes me at how a few viral videos on youtube proclaiming Netflices defeat have brought people to believe that a streaming service with maybe ten good shows is kicking Netflixes ass.

Content for content, people need to realize what they are getting for their money on both sides, Disney in truth has its work cut out for them, The fight hasn't even begun at this point. To be fair.

I hear you. But for me, the Disney bundle is a better choice. I'm more interested in TV shows than movies, so I like Hulu. I'm also an MMA fan and ESPN+ are the exclusive home (in the US) of the UFC and the PFL. And I'm waiting for any new or restarted Marvel superhero series on Disney.

I've subscribed and unsubscribed from Netflix quite a few times, but I don't know whether I'll ever sign on with them again. (I could see it, though, if they were to come up with a big discount, or some enticing package deal with some other provider.)

Heh, as affordable as they both are it's hardly a debate, lol, any streaming service beats cable prices clean to holy hell lol a person could get every streaming service out there and still pay less than cable, streaming is a win win for everybody but the cable companies lol

As Above So Below
R2-D2 Now Gliding Around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park

If you are planning on visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland or Walt Disney World Resorts, you’ll encounter plenty of characters from around the galaxy—from members of the First Order and the Resistance, to cosmic creatures and of course, droids!

On your next transport to Batuu in Disneyland park, you may see a familiar sidekick gliding around: R2-D2!

A resourceful astromech droid, R2-D2 has shown great bravery in rescuing his masters and their friends from many perils. A skilled starship mechanic and fighter pilot’s assistant, he formed an unlikely but enduring friendship with the fussy protocol droid C-3PO.

If you want to bring a droid companion home with you, head to Droid Depot and build your own! Choose from either an R-series or BB-series as droid parts come and go on conveyor belts. Then, place your finished droid in an activation station to bring them to life. Droids can be further customized with personality-affiliation chips, color panels and other accessories. Watch as your droid interacts with other astromech droids, as well as with certain elements throughout Black Spire Outpost. Droid Depot offers advance reservations up to 60 days in advance and are available via the Disneyland Resort website or the Disneyland app.

Afterwards, take time to explore the epic land where you can sample galactic food and beverages, enter an intriguing collection of merchant shops and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard another attraction in the land, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

The newest attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, launches at Disneyland park on Jan. 17 after opening Dec. 5, 2019 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll climb aboard a full-size transport shuttle before being captured by a Star Destroyer and find yourself in the middle of a climactic battle between the dark side of the First Order and the light side of the Resistance. The harrowing adventure blurs the lines between fantasy and reality on a scale never seen before in a Disney attraction.
