Sad about anyone dying, sad for everyone aboard. That said, if you're not a sports fan this looks very different.
In some respects this guy and LeBron James are guilty of behavior very similar to Prince Andrew yet he's easy to hate and these guys we love to put on a pedestal.

eleven foot pole marks all over this one .....

okay, okay okay. too soon?

I remember an interview with Gilbert Gottfried and he blurted out a few remarks at an event right after 9/11 - and I mean right after. He said the crowd was appalled and got ugly, booing, loud remarks. He knew it was too soon. So he pulled out this one and I have to admit, it's distracting. My wife and I can crack each other up just by looking at each other and saying 'we're Aristrocrats ...'

This guy seems to be popping up in the news a few times lately, does he work as a bounty hunter currently or is he just a retired turned more showbiz type now?...He looks tired...

Dog the Bounty Hunter's daughter Lyssa is arrested in Hawaii on charges of harassment and resisting arrest

Lyssa Chapman, 32, (main) was arrested and booked on Thursday night in Honolulu, and has already been released on bail. It's unclear whom the alleged victim in the case is, or whether the incident is related to the family drama that exploded this week when Dog appeared to propose (top right) to his son's ex-girlfriend less than a year after the death of his own wife Beth (bottom right with Lyssa, inset with Dog). In a clip from the Dr. Oz show released on Tuesday, Dog asks his son's ex, Moon Angell, 'Moon Angell, will you marry me?' as she and Dr. Mehmet Oz look on in apparent shock.

Cyclist sets off firestorm with crude comment on reporter’s outfit
reporter.jpg

Belgian journalist and former pro cyclist Sven Spoormakers posted a screengrab on Twitter that has caused outrage on social media after making a crude comment referring to a young female reporter covering the Vuelta a San Juan.
Spoormakers made reference to the reporter’s low cut top after taking a screenshot of her interviewing one of the riders for television, asking in Dutch: “Is it cool in Argentina?”

And it lead to numerous fans and pundits condemning him for allegedly sexually objectifying the young reporter.

Australian journalist Sophie Smith challenged Spoormakers on his remark, writing: “Seriously? Please tell me this is lost in translation and you did not just publicly objectify a young female reporter.

“Speaking from experience, let me say she does the exact same job as you but has to work and withstand twice as much still because of bulls–t like this.”

Spoormakers then responded: “Objectify, really? Come on. Don’t draw the feminist card on this one. She knows exactly what she’s wearing – or not wearing – and why.

“If I would interview a female athlete with my balls out, you’d be joking about it too. Or calling it a disgrace.”

Smith then incredulously hit back: “So it’s her fault because you can’t stop looking at her boobs? What’s she meant to do, wear a potato sack so you don’t get excited? If I take a picture of you at work, post it and comment on how small your d–k looks in a pair of shorts would you be alright with that?”

British reporter Ned Boulting then weighed in to lend his support, quoting one of Smith’s tweets and writing: “Over and over and over again, my female colleagues have to defend themselves from institutional disrespect. I take your voice, Sophie, and I add mine.”

Spoormakers’ tweets were also latched upon by frustrated fans, with one writing: “Mate, she’s wearing a top. That’s it. What’s the problem? Jesus Christ you’re a dinosaur.”

“We can do better,” says Denver Police Dept. after 169 wrecks during light snow

iStock-453303765-1024x637.jpg

The Denver Police Department is no stranger to commending or criticizing Mile High City drivers via Twitter, often making remarks related to traffic incidents on the social media platform. During a day of slick roads on Monday, the Denver Police Department released a number of updates, often accompanied by colorful commentary or a funny meme.

For instance, in one Monday tweet, the Denver Police Department featured an image of a dissatisfied Cogsworth from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast along with the announcement of more than 100 traffic crash reports in early morning hours.

Shortly after this tweet, the Denver Police Department again turned to Twitter to congratulate locals on minding their vehicles more carefully while the vehicle warms up, avoiding an act called “puffing” that has proved to be problematic in the past. In this tweet, announcing only one stolen vehicle, the police told Denverites “Stay amazing and stay with your car while it warms up.”

Praise started to turn to pending concern as rush hour hit, with the Denver Police encouraging drivers to “slowwww it down.”

Pending concern turned to disappointment with the next tweet delivering a simple message – “We can do better.”

The Denver Police Department then decided to finish the day with a word of encouragement despite the 169 traffic crash reports that had occurred in an 11 hour period in the Denver Area. The department told their followers that “tomorrow is a new day” and “we know you’ll do better.”

Will Denver drivers “do better” today? Hopefully. There’s less snow falling (Denver got 2-3 inches yesterday) and sunnier skies should help clear the roads of the Mile High City. However, more big snow is on the way to Colorado expected to dump 10 to 30 inches around the state.

DHS Suspends New Yorkers From Global Entry After Undocumented Immigrants Allowed Drivers' Licenses

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has suspended New Yorkers from its Trusted Traveler programs.

The programs, like Global Entry, are meant to help travelers move through customs lines faster. But New Yorkers are no longer allowed to sign up or renew their memberships.

Federal officials say the suspension comes in response to a new state law that recently took effect.

Acting Secretary Chad Wolf dropped the bombshell last night on Fox News.

“We sent a letter to New York indicating, because they took these measures, that New York residents are no longer eligible to enroll in these Trusted Traveler programs,” he said.

Wolf referred to New York State’s sanctuary “Green Light law,” which allows undocumented immigrants to apply for drivers’ licenses without providing a social security number – instead, using passports and IDs from other countries.

Massive lines formed at DMV’s across the state after the law went into effect in mid-December.

Wolf called the law disappointing, saying it’s a major security threat because it prohibits access to DMV data that’s needed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as the agency builds cases and investigates criminal networks. He added that data is also used for trade and travel, necessary for background checks when someone applies for a Trusted Traveler program.

“We no longer have access to make sure that they meet those program requirements,” he said.

All Global Entry applicants undergo rigorous background checks and in-person interviews before approval.

The program, and several similar ones, allow expedited clearance for pre-approved, so-called low risk, travelers. Meaning, faster security and customs lines for members.

The DHS order was announced just one day after President Donald Trump condemned sanctuary cities, like New York, in his State of the Union address.

“A criminal alien, freed by the sanctuary city of New York, was charged with the brutal rape and murder of a 92-year-old woman,” he said. “The killer had been previously arrested for assault. But under New York’s sanctuary policies, he was set free. If the city had honored ICE’s detainer request, his victim would still be alive today.”

CBS2 has reached out to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office for a comment, but so far, no response.

It is literally f*****g CRAZY to allow illegals to drive.

I've got a CDL and I maintain my medical card and pay a lot more to renew my license than a regular one. I had to go through written and road tests so that when I jump in the cab of a 20 ton truck I don't kill anybody. Oh, if it's only a 2 ton car I guess we shouldn't worry. I guy I worked with had his neck broken because he was hit by an illegal - you think just handing him a license wouldn't prevented the accident? He vanished first chance he got. Anthony's neck is still a mess.

And then there's this: https://nypost.com/2020/02/04/trump...-killing-of-92-year-old-woman-in-sotu-speech/

I was trying to find (and didn't) a clip from Airplane where Elaine says to Ted something like 'maybe we should just let all the lunatics out of the asylums and let them run the place. On second thought maybe that wouldn't be such a good idea ....'

If you read down a bit you'll see that the units that lit this candle are the very 'missileers' to quote some of the Robert Hastings stuff I've read. Don't know why it should be surprising those units are still active right where they were all those years ago when whatever it was happened.

Also, most people don't know what the hell Kwajalein Atoll is and I suppose the only fact that matters is that this thing hit a very small target from 4200 miles away. We sort of take that for granted anymore.

US Conducts Test Flight of Unarmed Minuteman 3 Missile

The Associated Press | By The Associated Press

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — An unarmed Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from California early Wednesday on a test flight to a target in the Pacific Ocean, the Air Force Global Strike Command said.

The missile blasted off at 12:33 a.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base and its reentry vehicle traveled 4,200 miles (6,759 kilometers) to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands as part of a developmental test, the command said from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.

Developmental tests use a spare missile from storage to validate flight worthiness of new or replacement components. That differs from test launches that use randomly selected operational missiles.

Modernization programs are essential to sustaining the aging Minuteman 3 weapon system, Col. Omar Colbert, the 576th Flight Test Squadron commander, said in a statement.

The launch was conducted by airmen from the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, the 90th Missile Wing at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, and the 91st Missile Wing at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.

Vandenberg's 30th Space Wing, now a part of the new U.S. Space Force, provided support.

The Air Force said test launches are not a reaction to world events. The launch calendars are developed three to five years in advance, and planning for individual launches takes six months to a year.
