It was a quiet day at work, some people didn't come in to work, all vendors and visitors were told not to come to the facility and there's talk of work being shut down for at least two weeks...I left work early to drop my car off at the repair shop, they will start work on it tomorrow morning...The grocery store in town and the food section of Walmart have been completely pillaged and plundered, it reminded me of scenes from the walking dead show...Hopefully my car will be repaired and ready for me to pick up tomorrow evening, they're also replacing all the coils and replacing two tires...I don't want to be without a car for too long given the current situation...

Food availability is getting progressively worse.

I may make one last hit and run mission to pick up a few things and spend the next two weeks painting the inside of the house.

Years ago I did all the moulding in stained red oak and now it's looking like the '90s in here and a bit worn. Want to add some shoe moulding and paint all the wood. Not my favorite chore but I am not one to just sit and it'll give me something to do beyond obsess.

They put up signs around work telling employees to remain 4 to 6 feet away from one another...Doubt that will help anything...

Yeah, I don't know why they even ask that of people, From what I've been reading, It's believed the coronavirus can infect from up to 60 feet away from someone who coughs or sneezes, And some people contend that because Measles can infect from 100 feet away and many think Corona is the same. Psychologically, all four to six feet does is offer a little bit of personal space and possibly some misguided comfort.

Be careful out there brother.

I was supposed to have one of my many doctor’s follow up appointments this afternoon. I received a phone call at 7:45 this morning. They wanted to have a teleconference instead. It was fine by me. The call took about 7 minutes in total. I would have driven an hour total plus sit in the office for 20-30 minutes for a 7 minute chit-chat.

All salary people here at work are encouraged to work from home now, most of them left after that announcement, I'm on salary as well but I have hourly people I'm managing and cannot leave the facility today...Only 50 percent of my job I can do from home anyway...The only person in the main office is the owner of the company and he told me that if the virus hits our county he will begin staying home...

I know things suck right now, But it's still awesome that places are taking steps to prevent spread, I'm hoping soon I will get a call from my wife saying they are closing down too.

To be honest, I am trying to see any positives from this I can. When Sam is home We will be able to play some video games and spend time together. She's almost always at work, There will finally be some family time.

Any positives I can find right now, You know?

Driving home the car starts to sound odd, looking I see the temperature gauge climbing fast, the car has an auto-shutoff to prevent permanent damage to the engine, but I didn't let it get that far...I pulled it over immediately out in the middle of nowhere 10 miles from home, I had water, 2 gallons in the trunk, popped the hood and steam everywhere...I told that Beroth mechanic it needed a water pump a few weeks back when I had the car in the shop, he insisted it was fine because he tested it and pressure tested the entire cooling system...That's nice nice but here I am possibly stuck, I let the car cool down just a bit, 20 minutes goes by, not one car passes me, not unusual for this road though, my cell phone works fine, got good signal, I was going to call for towing if I could get it home...I poured water back in and it drank both gallons, that's all I had, 10 miles to go to get home, I start up the car, sounds great again, the temp gauge sitting where it should be, but no time to waste, I can't push the car too hard to get home but I can't take my time either, it might overheat again quickly...Fortunately it's a 55 mph road and sort of flat, with hardly any cars in the road at the time, one just passed as I was getting back on the road, I get up to speed and set the cruise control...I saw the temp rise a little but made it home, made the call to Beroth telling them I'm bringing the car back Monday morning, fix it...
The car is in the shop today, they said its the radiator leaking bad, I told them to replace the water pump too, also replacing all the coils and replacing a tire...This repair bill will be over a 1000 when done...

This will all pass. Like a kidney stone, but it'll pass. I enjoy being at home with the wifey and will be painting the interior.

A thought occurs to me, China has proven themselves to be untrustworthy, I don't say this in a provocative way, I only mean, The Whitehouse admits that they don't trust Chinas numbers. Plus there is that Threat China has laid down to cut drug supplies to the U.S

And I mean Amidst a pandemic to boot that, I mean, That's not me being racist, That's literally a dick move on Chinas part, right?

So I ask, how can we Trust that China is telling the truth that the pandemic has peeked over there?

Oh my God, it's spread to the lounge, the last bastion of sanity has been compromised.

It's tough to call out a nation over a culture issue like this but I blame them big time, it won't change the way I feel about them as a people but it is as plain as day what the problem is and I think the necessary will be achieved without too much of a push needed. Today's world has seen nothing like this and the world has watched this unfold up close, that hasn't happened before and the main reason ownership will be taken but not dragged into the light.

Yeah we ought to try to keep it to personal issues and experiences here and let the other thread take the bulk of it lol...

Won't get my car tonight, the town is shutting down at 5pm tonight, the repair shop is usually open until 7pm and they would have had it done today if they had more time today...ugh

Not even 30 minutes ago some lady pulled over on side of the road across the meadow from my house tried to take my dog...Kobi standing five feet from my workshop outside and I'm inside my workshop and I hear him starting to bark and run off... I thought he was running into the woods and went looking in that direction first because the echos of his bark made it sound like he was in the woods...I turn around and see him across the meadow near the road barking at this woman who is trying to coax him in the car, with her back door wide open...I yell out asking her what the hell she doing, she said she thought he was a stray and wanted to help him...I'm sensing BS here, I told her he wouldn't be at the road if she hadn't pulled over and called him...She asked me his name and I ignore that question I told her use some common sense the dog is standing in my yard next to my building 200 feet from my house and she should mind her own business...She also said she lives a few miles down the road but I've never seen her car before nor have I seen her before and I've lived here almost 8 years, so I think she wanted to steal my dog...

From where she was pulled over on the side of the road, my house is only one in visual sight, so if you were driving by and looked across the meadow and see a dog standing next to a building 200 feet from a house that is about a 1000 feet from the road, would you think that dog was a stray?...

Not me but it's a perfect get out clause for a napper. Hope you have abolished vivisection as we had a spate of animals go missing when it was legal here. Cats mainly but dogs too, people wanted blood over it. I remember all the posters and flyers on being over careful with pets.

Glad you nick of timed it.
