Coronavirus unexpected changes

What about all the downstream changes apt to come from this?

Small stuff, but it's there. Marketing. For a product to be sitting on a store shelf it has to go through a complex process, and once there it has to compete for it's space or get squeezed out. Darwin might as well have invented the plan-o-gram. I absolutely guarantee that humans and AI doing consumer product analysis and marketing right now - because they are - have noticed the same thing we probably all have.

Look at certain things on store shelves that absolutely nobody will touch even when the End of Days is nigh. Never mind the Corona beer - it can share the same niche as Ayds weight loss candies. Here's one I noticed the other day

That's some weird s**t to begin with. I remember getting a version of that in the Korean War K-rations my brother and I got to go camping with. Blaaaargh. For all I know this stuff IS the same stuff from that era just repackaged.

I had to laugh - had a visual of myself years from now post-Apocalypse going through the ruins of the supermarket with a rifle and a flashlight and .... YES !! There it is! And still as fresh as it always was .....

I used to love canned bread. I would slice it up and toast it with butter. There's good eatin' in there!

Bread in a can? It ain't natural, I tell you ! Tasty? So say some about still wiggling bat soup. Around here you and @Shadowprophet can have your fill. When the shelves are empty - because it seems everyone needs plenty of beans to self-isolate - you two can have your fill :)

Maybe all those beans shed light on the toilet paper problem. Get some AI on that now

I was just outside looking at the moon. The stars are just starting to come out and already I can tell the sky is incredibly clear. There's so little driving going on right not, I bet the air is the cleanest it's been in decades.

Right now I envy people like Nivek who live out in the country. On a night like tonight they can probably see things that are normally not visible. :acute:

I can certainly see a lot more stars in the night sky than I did when I lived in places like San Diego in my younger years...Coincidentally I was out on my back deck last night a couple hours or so after sunset admiring the stars out over the forest in front of me and in my peripheral vision the glowing light of the moon which was at my back lol...We are having springtime weather here lately and I've been stepping out after sunset to get some fresh air, during the day the pollen seems much thicker...

I've been itching to go camping in the mountains for a few days in some remote areas I know that are distant from people and outside the national parks which I'm sure are closed...In fact two of those places I've camped at I would also choose as my secondary home base, a fallback location if this virus thing got really ugly, zombie apocalypse type ugly I mean lol, there's fresh spring water and means for a shelter and plenty of wild food...

I never realized that after many decades of being a Road Warrior how disgusted I was with it all - almost a PTSD.
Now the roads are comparatively quiet and I like it. A lot.

Wow, we really seem to be cooperating with self imposed quarantine around the world.

This is a 10 minute video showing huge cities and highly populated places around the globe at lunch time. It was posted April 1, 2020.

I heard of our pollution monitoring system as self reporting a system error as the readings had dropped so rapidly.

Microcosmic qualities if ever there could be such thing inside a thing.

That's really eerie! It's like something out of a zombie movie. At 1:45 you can see Mumbai's smog problem was taken care of. Most of the locations have overcast/hazy skies.

Hiking in Vanderbilt Mansion National Park yesterday and was on a bluff overlooking the train tracks that parallel the Hudson. The river's maybe a half mile wide at that point. I could hear somebody's dog barking across the river and the owner coming out to tell it to shut up. Sooooo quiet - very few trains, cars, ships on the water. Weird.
