General Relativity Proves HV Lifters' Create Significant Space-Time Curvature

I don't do you tube much any more either. I lost interest when the you really became corporate. I do have some interest in where library might go.

@waitedavid137 I envy the phenomenal ease with which you understand tensor calculus. I want to be that smart :)

Do you know about Julia language that MIT created and is used for solving partial differential equations models etc. Apparently it's as easy as Python, and as fast as C++

While we were chatting here I toyed with idea of writing a game of snooker based on GR equations, where one will have black holes on the green table and had to take curvy shots around black holes. I don't know how playable would that be :)

Not much, but I figure if I can work out exact solutions to Einstein's field equations that programs can merely back check, then why bother?

One can just play with it. Maybe write an UFO game using real GR or some special lighting effects near black hole. People are excited about Einstein and weird stuff. There is market for that. I'm just thinking loudly.

My method of learning is to write software on a subject I want to learn. Than I have to deal with practical problems and learn it that way.

A Fully realized gravity simulation isn't really possible. We don't fully understand Gravity. And even with what we know, It would take a supercomputer to run such a simulation. Relativity in its complexity is kind of vast. That's why in games we have very simplistic physics engines

Again with the we. Who is we? Geodesics are easy to calculate for me at least especially time independent metric ones due to Noether. Then again due to left wing Nazi politics you don't know her name any more than you know Vaidya better than Hawking.

Oh, I know her, at least from documentaries.

I'm lost, excuse me? You think I am a Nazi? Because I don't think you could program a fully realized Gravity Simulation?

Are you by chance Bi polar? I'm lost here.

I didn't in any way accuse you of being a Nazi. I meant that those in charge of what you are educated with are. For example can you tell me without a search with what Noether's first name is? You know Einstein's. Why not hers?

No worries, I was on a different thought process for a moment. My bad, I appreciate you clarifying for me, I truly was lost for a moment lol

OK, I am on another side of the planet, so I'll go to sleep son.

So what to you thing about Android app game, based on General Relativity, where all shots are curve-balled around black holes? Would that be a success in your opinion?

Are they physically realistic ones like Kerr-Newman or unrealistic like nonrotating uncharged Schwarzschild?

It would be built for mobile phones, which are limited with processing power. So most likely one would have to make them very unrealistic.

I am more concerned with play-ability of the game, while keeping an illusion that is very accurate.

I actually have a gravity game on my phone, that's based on GR a bit. I can shoot planets around black holes.

Roy Kerr, Now there is a name I know, What a brilliant man, did you know he was the first to solve Einsteins Backwards time travel problem? And he had some great theories about ring singularities.

Kerr Mathematics I know.

Around unphysical Schwarzschild holes like it is doing isn't very interesting compared to shooting through more physically realistic Kerr-Newman ones. It took me like a decade to understand Penrose and Vaidya is another story all together. I don't expect anyone else to get Penrose for decades to come. And I don't know anyone other than me that understands Vaidya, and yet as arrogant as that comes across prove me wrong by saying Vaidya's first name.

Just use Boyer-Lindquist coordinates. Far more intuitive.

Nivek - is there any way to get a LaTeX/MathJax add-on for the forum so we can see equations in a clearer format? I could pony up some dough if there's an extra charge for it. This formatting is workable, but it would be really nice to see it in the proper format. Grazie.

Just saw this, I'll see what I can do...

There's actually three different approaches I can use to set this up with either MathJax or Latex, I'll have something in place by tomorrow evening, going to see which would work best for us and do some testing first...
