Spent the last two days painting a bedroom, ceiling is a medium base flat, the walls are flat Sahara sand, tha trim, windows and door is a satin white. Awhile back we put in for a new roof through the urban renewal, ive used them once before, and they have already called back and a guys is gonna be out this week to look at it and see. i didnt expect them to call back till the late summer and that was before this corona virus stuff, but sure will be nice to have a new roof on this 100year old house bouts.

This morning getting ready for work it looked like an easy day, at 7 am I was already thinking about leaving work around 2pm in the afternoon and get some stuff done at home, but noooooooooooooooooo, it was not meant to be...

The texts started coming in not even ten minutes later, a multi-million dollar machine that has been sitting idle through the weekend and yesterday (Monday) was damaged last night during start up procedures with multiple wiring harnesses ripped out of the machinery and laying all over the floor, dozens of wires...Unbelievable, and 15 hours later after this incident happened, I still do not have an answer as to how and why this happened, the inquiries into this mess will be continuing tomorrow to get the answers and no doubt someone will likely be fired for this damage...

So for almost 12 hours straight today without stopping for lunch nor a break my 1st shift and then 2nd shift engineers along with myself proceeded to re-wire this machinery and make the other necessary repairs...Our biggest challenge was the fact that half of the electrical drawings were gone, have been missing for a number of years before my time here, and it just so happens that the pages we needed were not to be found...So we re-wired this machine without electrical prints going by our own knowledge...We finished the repairs and re-wiring about 7:30pm tonight, its all up and running for the night shift to operate...What a day...

This damn thing went into a drawer because I was getting less than eight hours battery life. The Sony that died would get 20+ hours on one AA, verses the Sangean that uses 2 AAA. I think I'll start using a small desktop radio that plugs into the wall.
I'm now using an old RCA radio/CD player that plugs into the wall. The classical music station has a little static probably because the antenna is next to the computer monitor. Now I won't have to use up a bunch of batteries making me a more environmentally responsible useless eater.

All 12 of the crookneck watermelon seeds I started indoors have sprouted up, they will go in the garden next week after this late frost hits us this weekend...I'm looking forward to getting these watermelons in the garden and growing them for the first time here...

Is that a Hawaiian statue?

No idea. I call it a Samoan Leprechaun. It looks a little like Kona - the idol the Skipper thought was cursed on Gilligan’s Island. So I named him Kona.

Big Joss there. He’s my property sentinel in nice weather

Hopefully this is the end of the saga, unless there's a future supernatural scenario. I've looked for radios on Amazon & CCrane and there's not much of a selection that matches my needs. I have an old Bose stereo and the buttons have become unresponsive.

Not perfect, but done with bed 2, thinking i`ll finish all the rooms than put some laminate down after. i am gonna have to use this room as the living room so i can knock it out next. all the rooms have glued paneling on the drywall and shit glued to the ceiling as well.so i`ve been going trough each room insulating the outside walls and putting new on the ceilings and floating the inside walls as best as i could with mud. starting to get the hang of it again.

I still use an old AM/FM stereo cassette player out in the garage. Different listening experience. I usually have an NPR station on. I can stream the same shows through my iphone but that sucks all the static-ey flavor out of it.

I deliberately kept and repaired the Delco radio in my old 'vette. Had to order special 10 ohm slim speakers to replace the missing originals. Because it's fancy AM and FM and stereo it has two pieces - the radio itself plus a big ass 'convector assembly' with a heat sink behind the passenger side dash. Big chunky bastards, I doubt they'f fit in a shoe bx together. It works, I can cruise around listening to at least FM stations. Needs a new antenna lead. It is slightly painful to listen to but it correct for the period.

Nice work. I just finished the living & dining rooms, hallway and entrance foyer, stairwell. All the stained oak moulding is now pure white. Really brightened the place up. Today I am going to put down a tile floor. A small one - the 4' x 6' entrance foyer.

I hate working with cementatious products. I would rather have used mastic but the tile calls for a specific mortar so that's on the menu. It'll be up my nose, in my underwear and probably in the neighbor's mailbox before I am done.

These watermelons went in the ground today and I put up the rest of the fencing around them to keep the deer out...Pictures will come soon, I still have the rest of the garden to plant which is planned for this coming Thursday and Friday...

Here's some pics, three plants in each mound, four mounds total, one near each corner, the fenced off plot is about 18 ft x 18 ft...I also have wire cages around the sproutlings to keep the birds from nipping them off and later I'm covering the ground with mulch...In the first pic you can see the green bean plot in the background, they aren't planted yet, but will be in about four days, to the left of that is another plot for tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, lettuce, and herbs...

No I want more but also hope your R.C.A does a stint for you. The sony amp I run everything through now days is 25 years new and this may sound crazy but I haven't turned it off for 10 years, it's been through a few power cuts and cut back in but the off button which makes a click of quality I've not pushed in a decade. I like the old stuff as they don't make them they used to.
