Dead Scientists Articles - Index
I am sure there are better lists...
I keep wondering why there is so little real data on the virus,
then I remember that pretty much anyone that could figure this out is dead a few years ago.

so, remember that it is odd that the first thing done to stop the virus was to lock down the internet.
the next thing "they" tried is to stop people selling guns....
and my thoughts on this is that political solutions to science issues are less than ideal
most people can smell a lie like a fart in a small room. yet they still can deny what is happening equally easily.

I was wondering why you said 'they' stopped selling guns when I saw a TV news clip saying guns were selling
like hot cakes nationwide - Then I saw you were from CA - So yes, maybe 'The Peoples Republic of California'
did what you said and tried to limit or stop gun sales.

And as far as the internet goes conspiracy theories were everywhere - And yes the information is being
censored on YouTube and social media.

If you are a conspiracy nut like many of us, you would realize this is the beginning of the next phase of
the 'New World Order'.

- But to be fair we can't be sure - Maybe its a legitimate nightmare that just happened this way
as it did in 1917-18 and called back then 'The Spanish Flu' - Supposedly that killed
approximately 50 million before it was over !

Maybe we are just hoping that it is some type of hyped conspiracy - Just to make us feel it isn't real!

Missouri hairstylist went to work with coronavirus symptoms, exposed 91 clients, co-workers: officials

Missouri health officials have issued a public warning after a hairstylist exposed 91 people to the coronavirus at a hair salon.

The exposure took place this month at a Great Clips in Springfield, Springfield-Greene County Health Department Director Clay Goddard said Friday.

“I’ll be honest, I’m very frustrated to be up here today and maybe more so I’m disappointed,” he said.

Those who were exposed were 84 customers who got haircuts from the hairstylist between May 12 and May 20 and seven co-workers, Goddard told a coronavirus news briefing Friday.

The hairstylist was exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms as she cut hair on those days.

Covid-19 cases in North Carolina surge to highest single day total for the state

The highest one-day increase of Covid-19 cases was reported in North Carolina Saturday, just one day after phase two of reopening began in the state, health officials say.

There were 1,107 positive Covid-19 cases reported on Saturday, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).

"Phase two runs through at least Friday, June 26, unless changed or canceled," NCDHHS said in a tweet on Saturday.

North Carolina's phase two includes expanding restaurant capacity to 50% and reopening camps for children, NCDHHS said in a tweet. Bars and gyms remain closed in the state.

North Carolina now has a total of 22,725 confirmed cases, according to NCDHHS.

France to retaliate over British quarantine measures

France is to impose a quarantine on British travellers after the UK announced all new arrivals will have to spend two weeks in self-isolation. The French government made it clear it would retaliate in kind after Britain announced the 14-day quarantine period for new arrivals to the UK from June 8, including the French.

In response French ministers said they “regretted” Britain's decision and would introduce their own reciprocal measures.

The British decision to impose quarantine measures had already angered the travel industry and the French response will only compound its despair at the prospect of international travel being disrupted further. Priti Patel, the Home Secretary, announced on Friday travellers entering the UK would have to self-isolate for 14 days or they could face a £1,000 fine.

Passengers will be required to fill out an online contact form providing details of where they will spend their self-isolation. If a person does not have suitable accommodation they will be required to stay in "facilities arranged by the government" at the person's own expense.

It was confirmed France would not be exempt from the rules, despite reports earlier this week its citizens may not be forced to self-isolate. In response a spokesman for France’s Interior Minister said: “We take note of the British government’s decision and we regret it. France is ready to put in place a reciprocal measure as soon as the system comes into force on the British side.”

Unlike many other countries, Britain has until now carried out few tests and checks on visitors, with quarantine limited only to arrivals from China at the start of the outbreak.

Spain and Italy already have rules that mean international arrivals must self-isolate for two weeks, while Greece currently instructs arrivals to quarantine if they test positive for Covid-19.

Italy will lift its quarantine measures on June 3. Raffaele Trombetta, the Italian ambassador to the UK, said no discussions had yet taken place between Italy and Britain.

He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: “We believe that this pandemic is a global problem so the best thing to do is to tackle it with a coordinated approach. We have made it clear what we are going to do and it’s important for British people to know that they can come to Italy. “We understand that the UK's new rules will be reassessed after three weeks so hopefully there will be an easing of the measures as we are doing in Italy.”

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said in his weekly Saturday televised address that "the entry of foreign tourists will restart in July in a safe manner".

Germany imposed blanket quarantine for arrivals in April, although many regions of the country have since decided to ignore it. But there are now fears that other countries will consider introducing restrictions on British travellers, especially if our Covid-19 infections and deaths remain higher than theirs.

The actions of the British government is too little too late. This latest idea will achieve nothing, how are we to police the self isolation?.
As regarding the spikes,if everyone wore masks the chances of catching the virus would diminish greatly.Sadly people are too stupid/vain/arrogant to do so.

Yep I totally agree with you, if people would actually listen and think we could have had this virus situation behind us, but instead half the people I see in public wear a mask, the other half not, people going out to cook outs and parties and larger gatherings on these holidays and weekends like everything is normal...Only takes a few to keep the virus spreading, and spreading its still doing, not because of the shops opening back up but because of the ignorance of people, wear a freaking mask in public, everyone, not just a few, its simple...Stop gathering for a few weeks, everyone, not just a few, simple...None of us want to be dealing with this virus for the rest of the year but that's were we are headed because of dumb people...Sorry rant over...

After 3 Children Die, a Race to Investigate a Baffling Virus Syndrome

NEW YORK — Blood will be collected from dozens of children in New York to determine whether they share any genetic variations that might make them susceptible to a mysterious syndrome linked to the coronavirus.

Tissue samples from at least one of the three patients to have died from it — ages 5, 7 and 18 — have been sent to a public health laboratory for intensive testing.

A team of more than 30 disease detectives — epidemiologists, clinicians and statisticians — is poring over thousands of pages of medical records.

Even as doctors and scientists around the world race to develop treatments and vaccines for COVID-19, New York state has become the center of a parallel effort to investigate an unnerving aspect of the outbreak: an illness that is sickening a small but growing number of children.

The ailment has now been reported in at least 161 children in New York, making the state’s caseload one of the largest publicly reported anywhere. Hundreds of other children across the United States and in Europe have also been sickened with the illness, now called multisystem inflammatory syndrome.

The syndrome can be characterized by severe inflammation of the heart, blood vessels, the gastrointestinal tract or other organs, believed to be caused by a reaction to the coronavirus. The inquiries into why it is occurring and whether a treatment can be found could have an impact on how authorities handle the reopening of schools and other activities for children.

Doctors in New York involved in the effort say that not since health officials began investigating the connection between Zika in pregnant women and microcephaly in 2015 and 2016 has there been such an urgent search to understand a mysterious threat to children.

“We’re looking at everything possible — therapies, diagnostics, clinical picture — and we’re trying to pull this all together,” said Dr. Howard Zucker, the state health commissioner.

'If Dominic Cummings can break the rules, we can too!' Fears lockdown will collapse with crowds hitting parks and beaches in 79F heatwave after Boris Johnson's top aide drove 270 miles to Durham family home with coronavirus symptoms

With parts of the country basking temperatures hotter than Athens, Nice and Barcelona today, (pictured: a packed beach in Bournemouth, top; crowds in Hyde Park, bottom left; and two sunbathers in Brighton, bottom right) critics said that Mr Johnson's decision to stand behind Mr Cummings risked sending out the dangerous signal that 'lockdown is finished' - potentially leading to a second wave of infections.

Russell Martin tweeted: 'So are you telling us that the lockdown is now officially over and we can do whatever we like whenever we like? Because if Dominic Cummings can break the rules with impunity, the rest of us can too.' Meanwhile, surfers in Woolacombe, Dorset, claimed they had every right to defy appeals to stay at home from locals at tourist spots, with Jen, 26, from Warwick, telling MailOnline: ‘If Dominic Cummings can travel from London to Durham during the height of lockdown, then really no one can say anything.’

How retired chemistry teacher holds Dominic Cummings' fate in his hands after spotting him 30 MILES from Durham family home - as Gavin Williamson says PM's aide insists he only made ONE trip during lockdown

Robin Lees and his walk in Barnard Castle (bottom right) on April 12 could prove pivotal in forcing the Prime Minister's hand despite his astonishing defence of his friend, adviser and enforcer (top right, today) last night. The Durham local alleges he saw someone who 'looked like' Mr Cummings at the Teesdale town 30 miles from Durham that day, and the 'distinctive' number plate he took down corresponds to Mr Cummings' car.

Mr Cummings, 47, admits he took his wife Mary Wakefield and four-year-old son 260 miles north to his family's farm from London at the end of March, when she was suffering from coronavirus-symptoms. But he and Downing Street have remained silent over an alleged trip out during his northern isolation for a walk in the picturesque village on April 12 - his wife's 45th birthday.

British Airways passengers complain about packed flights in Europe and passengers without masks as more airline restart flights after lockdown

British Airways passengers have complained about packed flights in Europe and passengers without masks as other airlines make plans to restart flights this summer. BA have defended themselves by saying it is 'personal preference' whether passengers on board their flights wear facial masks or not and that they are devising new safety procedures for a post coronavirus world. The airline industry as a whole is struggling to survive as coronavirus devastates traveler numbers - British Airways has already announced plans to lay off 12,000 staff.

Operators are struggling to devise ways to ensure social distancing on flights while carrying enough passengers to ensure the survival of their business. BA says its transatlantic flights are quiet enough to ensure social distancing But that has not stopped passengers taking to social media to complain about packed BA flights on the continent with passengers seated directly next to each other and without face masks.

The virus has slowed down in Finland, so far theres been fewer new deaths (1 in 2 days) and infections. I think there might be a calm, which is good, since the second wave might come in fall. It lets us catch our breath anyways and have our hospitals time to prepare. Well see what happens in summer.

I was looking at some photos taken this weekend at a California beach. The bathers were packed in like a sardine can. What can you say? A large portion of the populace either doesn’t care about maintaining their distance or wearing a mask. It also seems that people don’t want to be told what to do or how to act. There will never be a 100% obeying the rules.

New cases and deaths in the England are falling, despite people gradually paying less and less attention to lockdown measures. Could it be that there are other factors than physical distance at play in the spread of the disease? In particular, the length of the day is increasing, and the sun is getting higher in the sky. Those people who are going outside are being exposed to more sunlight. Some scientists and medics think that vitamin D can play a large role in susceptibility to the virus. It could be that when a large number have adequate vitamin D the virus does not have many susceptible new hosts.

Australia and New Zealand have not long come out of their own summers and the populace in those countries tend to have large amounts of vitamin D. They have more or less declared victory over their own epidemics.

Interesting, you have me thinking about that more, I've been outside a lot more lately too, not out to beaches and whatnot like we see crowds in the news, but on my own property working in the garden and other outside chores...I wonder if there are any studies about the effects of vitamin D exposure and the coronavirus in the works...
