i found $400 i had stashed and forgot about.

That's awesome, love finding lost or forgotten things, even money!!...As a matter of fact, this morning when I went over to my mom's house to help her out with a few things she had a cedar chest of mine I forgot was over there...Upon opening and looking through the stuff in it I found a pocket watch I thought I lost years ago given to me by a friend from Poland...I was looking all over the place for that watch, but forgetting about that cedar chest over her house, made plans to get that chest and bring it home this weekend...The cedar chest itself is an antique, 1956, got all the original labeling and tags inside, its in great shape...

When my wife’s uncle passed on, the family decided to clean house. In a cubby hole going down the steps to the cellar they found an old cigar box. In it was discovered $11 grand! I never thought he had a pot to pee in so that much was a surprise.

I'm going to check the labeling and packaging to see if its made in America or some other place

Made in the US, it came from Arkansas and I installed that coil yesterday afternoon, it was 90 degrees out and bump of the key the engine fired right up...I rode the mower back to the workshop, filled the gas tank and started mowing, the grass was tall too but that mower cut it all down no problem...It took about 20 minutes longer than usual to finish mowing, because of the taller than normal grass, and weeds...

We have a very large hemlock hedge that's developed wooly adelgid. I read up on it and got some sort of gunk that's supposed to take care if that just by feeding the roots. Well, I normally give them a taste of 10-10-10 anyway in late August by pounding stake holes in the ground at the edge of the umbrella and pouring about a soup can in each every 10' or so. So I guess I'll do that to the affected ones. Dunno about the heat but they need some help.

When do you get to the point in life where you even know what that stuff IS much less care about it? Somehow I must've crossed a border and failed to notice it.

I saw the article on the CNN website about the coin situation. I haven’t seen any signs at stores thus far. My wife stopped at the Dollar Tree store today. They “request” that if you use paper money or coins that you have the exact change.

We had a bad storm come through late last night, lots of rain and wind, I didn't go out to check the garden until late this afternoon to find almost all the beans flattened to the ground as well as 2 tomato plants and 2 broccoli plants flattened...I got them all shored back upright and mounded them more, but lost 4 bean plants because of broken stalks...

Still though here in pics below are today's pickings of beans and a pic of the watermelon patch, the crooked neck watermelon are looking fabulous...

Took a few days off.

Just had to break the back of my old couch so it flowed out through the door I wanted it to. Jammed my pickup full and went to the dump. You roll over a truck scale. 400 lbs of old couches, rigs, etc cost me all of $23 to dispose of. I've got the whole upstairs torn apart and right now am waiting for the living room to dry. Hardwood floors and I like the smell of Murphy's oil soap. Clean floor, roll out gripper mat, roll out new area rug, put new furniture on it. Take a vacuum to the stereo, tv and all that and hook it all back up. Full of dust and pet hair.

Lather, rinse, repeat in dining room. New area rug. Easier - smaller, no furniture. We didn't use it and just gave it to the cats, so a couple of cardboard boxes and crinkly paper and it's all set.

Entrance to Area 52? Locked and loaded for a machine gun fight with subterranean aliens? Fallout shelter? Or is it the entrance to my MiB lair?

Septic tank lid. Had to dig that bastard up for a pumping. A ritual every 2-3 years.

All this vacation makes me need a vacation. Going to be an Ibuprofen morning tomorrow for sure.

pet hair.

Yeah a never-ending chore for me, sweeping up long dog hair on the hardwoods floors, washing linen and bedding covered in long pet hair, dusting off furniture with pet hair (and dust), it gets everywhere even when I maintain it...Not complaining about it though, just stating the obvious lol, comes with having a medium sized dog with very long hair that he seems to consistently shed...I brush him every other day and dust the floors every two days, fairly regular but there's some weeks I get slack lol...Wouldn't have it any other way, I love my dog...

I took a drive through the countryside this morning, miles and miles of farmland and forest, it was a nice morning for that...On the way back I happened to be nearby the pet cemetery, which is about 20 miles from my house...My previous dog Kimo is buried there, haven't been by there in years , so I stopped and stretched my legs and cleaned his plaque off of overgrown grass...

It appears they're trying to instill other agenda components during this event like edging towards a cashless society. When Ed Dames was on C2C a couple nights ago he said we will transition to touchless transactions through our cell phones.
