The language of the genes, Steve Jones
On Charles Darwin's cousin, Francis Galton, who came up with the idea of fingerprints
As well as revolutionising detective work he was the first person to publish a weather map and the only one to have made a beauty map of Britain, based on secretly grading the local woman on a scale of one to five (the low point, incidentally being in Aberdeen).
Sometimes I think we Brits might be a bit odd

Due to limited time and taking advantage of discounts, I've accumulated quite a few audiobooks. Anyway, the one I'm listening to now is The Complete Guide to Mysterious Beings by none other than John A. Keel. It's a lot of fun. I would classify it as Forteana, or maybe folklore, rather than cryptozoology. Many of the entities discussed are somewhat fabulous, while others could be considered intelligent. He even covers extraterrestrials and angels. Keel didn't commit himself to the reality of the beings he discussed, but only rejected a few of them outright.

Here's the Table of Contents of the print edition:

1. A World Filled with Ambling Nightmares

2. ”The Uglies and the Nasties”

3. Demon Dogs and Phantom Cats

4. Flying Felines

Kerry Cassidy has a new book "Rebel Gene: Secret Space & the Future of Humanity". She talks about the history of Project Camelot and her whistleblowers. I would give it 8.3/10.

I would give this book 'Walking Among Us: The Alien Plan to Control Humanity' an 8.5/10. It's basically a follow-up to his other book 'The Threat'. In one account a hybrid/hubrid was talking to a stranger and was told he needs to lighten up. He thought that meant he needed to buy lighter color clothes.

I think I've had this book over 25 years and I've only now finished it. The most interesting part was the last quarter of the book which draws the alien/Annunaki connections.

Discovered C.S. Forester a bit late in life but fortunately not too late.

Good book, written a bit strangely, but very good. Fitted and retained indeed.

Being a military geek and Star Trek fan it's surprising I never read any of the Horatio Hornblower stuff, but now that I've started it I'll probably finish it. More a series of short stories with a common theme but engaging. Was never into the age of fighting sail - maybe Winston Churchill's description of the Royal Navy of the period influence med; he described it as it 'rum, sodomy and the lash ...' Fortunately, that hasn't come up. Rat biters and lunatics yes, but none of all that.

I have been revisiting the books of Ardy Sixkiller Clarke. The books are about the Native Americans contact with extraterrestrials. There are four total books with many fascinating stories. The American Indians have no doubts about the Sky People visiting us.

Nick Redfern says this will be his most controversial book.
The Rendlesham Forest UFO Conspiracy: A Close Encounter Exposed as a Top Secret Government Experiment
In the final days of December 1980, strange encounters and bizarre incidents occurred in the heart of Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, England. Based upon their personal encounters, many of the military personnel who were present at the time believed that something extraterrestrial came down in those dark woods. What if, however, there was another explanation for what happened four decades ago?

What if that explanation, if revealed, proved to be even more controversial than the theory that aliens arrived from a faraway world? The ramifications for the field of Ufology would be immense. In his new, sensational book, Nick Redfern reveals that one of the most famous UFO cases of all time was really a series of top secret experiments using holograms, mind-control programs, deception, disinformation, conspiracies and cover-ups. The shocking truth of a forty-year-old mystery is now revealed.

More from Nick about the book (from Facebook):
Several people have asked me in the last hour or so if - in my new book, "The Rendlesham Forest UFO Conspiracy" - I have relied on the testimony of this person or that person, etc.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1945962283/ref=sr_1_3…

I should stress that my book is very different in its approach to the other books that have been written on the subject. Most books on Rendlesham are a study of the incidents and of the testimony of the people who were there. Mine is different.

As the end of this year marks the 40th anniversary of the Rendlesham case, I could have written the story from the perspective of a history book.

In other words, almost an A-Z of everything about the case, from the history, the claims, etc etc that have gone on for 40 years. But, there's no point in doing that, as most of that kind of material can be found in all the previous Rendlesham books that have already been published anyway.

But, my book is far removed from that approach. I chose to focus on what I considered to be the most important (and least contaminated) data. That being the "Halt Tape" and the "Halt Memo."

Then, there is approximately 30 pages in the book on the Rendlesham case, with the tape and the memo still at the forefront. After that approx 30 pages of telling the important parts of the case, I focus the remaining 170 pages of the book on the experiments and how they were achieved (and not just in the forest, but elsewhere too).

My book is less about the incidents and the military guys themselves and their testimonies (although there is a small bit of that).

Rather, my book looks at a very alternative part of the story that hasn't been touched before now (to a large degree). That alternative part is how a number of secret experiments were planned, created and finally deployed.

We all know the story of the incidents, the claims, and the testimony. I'm providing the story of the experiments.

Just wrapping up Hornblower #11. I can understand how Roddenberry got from that to Captain Kirk.

Next on the list:

From back in the day when cast iron balls were requirements for the weapons and the men who crewed those ships. Hard core. We've become very soft these days and have innate capacity we've forgotten about.

The Epigenetic Revolution, Nessa Carey
The Malaria parasite, once in the blood, finds and enters a red blood cell. An evolutionary defence occurred so the red blood cell detects the parasitic presence and self destructs. All good until down the line two parents, each with the mutation, produce a child. The mutation then over activates and causes red blood cells not to wait for a parasite but just self destruct - sickle cell anaemia.

Nessa Carey points out 98% of DNA was thought to be junk with only 2% coding for proteins. As more has been learnt about how the 'junk' actually switches genes on and off and controls their expression, it seems we are seeing a truly elegant, layered, error correcting and repair system. To me it contrasts to the random products of the evolution above and seems designed.
Were I a better programmer, there would be an algorithm to be constructed to identify if the system is evolution or design.

Yanis Varoufakis, Another Now
The ex Greek Minister of finance takes a look at Post capitalism.
Many believe in democracy and a market economy but also accept the idealised world of Star Trek with no money and no corporations. How might that transition?
Today we have many corporations behaving like a small communist states, run by 'career psychopaths' and he suggests companies be not externally funded but employee owned. Each employee with a single share, all receiving the same wage with a bonus determined by a vote with employee each allocating say a 100 points.

In a bid to incorporate into my socialist blueprint different, often clashing, perspectives I decided to conjure up three complex characters whose dialogues would narrate the story – each representing different parts of my thinking: a Marxist-feminist, a libertarian ex-banker and a maverick technologist. Their disagreements regarding “our” capitalism provide the background against which my socialist blueprint is projected – and assessed.

If anyone has an interest in (or opinion on) the UFO subject then would highly recommend this one.

It took five years to write and basically shows what the world's military and intelligence communities were actually saying about the UFO subject behind the scenes in their own internal documentation.

cv5f87627d.jpg

The story, which is unmasked by the governments’ own documents, explains much that is new, or at least not commonly known, about the seriousness with which the military and intelligence communities approached the UFO problem internally.

I just finished reading "Forgotten Genesis" by Radu Cinamar. It said the Anunnaki are the original Sirian Race. Their mothership at the time of our creation was called Neiberau then later was known as Nibiru. They call the merging of the Andromeda galaxy and ours a wedding. Some of what's happening to our race currently is connected to that future event.

Just finished reading Incident at Devil's Den by Terry Lovelace. I would give it an 8.9/10. It's a book that depicts how the abduction phenomenon is a lifelong experience and how it effects everyone around the victim.
