mystic properties of gemstones

For some reason in the 90's every time I went to the local rock shop (often) I would come home with more hematite. I always found a new crystal or other stone that I bought but I always seemed to be attracted by the hematite.

My next stone is a true large crystal quartz ball.
But they are very expensive. Even the 4" ones are high.

Apache Tears;
Their name comes from the First Nations Apache tribe in the United States. They were named after a gruesome and tragic story about the Apache tribe.
In the 1870s, a small group of Apache warriors met the American Cavalry in a battle. They were sorely outnumbered, and it became clear that they could not win the battle. Instead of conceding defeat and being captured and murdered, they decided to ride their horses off the side of a mountain to their deaths.
According to the story, when the wives and children of these warriors heard this story, their tears turned to stones when they touched the ground where their warriors fell. These stones were left scattered across the desert, where they can now be found.
Apache Tears have a particular affinity with the bereaved and the grief-stricken in addition to all of the properties generally associated with Obsidian in all of its ordinary forms. It is also much gentler in its vibration than other forms of Black Obsidian.
Apache Tear brings up negativity from deep within the etheric and emotional bodies, but it does so in a slow, gentle way so that it can be thoroughly and safely transmuted.
An Apache Tear is an excellent aura cleansing stone, absorbing negativity and protecting the energy body from unwanted vibrations, energies, and entities.
Because of their mythological origin as the tears of suffering women and children, Apache tears are a deeply empathetic stone that can help you through struggles gracefully and gently.
They are potent crystals for helping you to heal from grief. I used mine greatly in my grief after my grandmother died.
Many black stones are very good at dispelling negativity quickly and effectively. They remove the negative vibrations and leave a space for good vibrations to enter. Apache Tears go one step further than this and actively help you heal the wounds that tragic or traumatic experiences leave behind.
Wearing Apache Tears near the heart is an excellent way to feel their power, as they will rest closest to the seat of your heart chakra.
A heavy pendant (6 ounces or more)that rests against the middle of your chest is especially powerful, as the weight will serve as a constant reminder of mindfulness, which will keep your energy focused on the power of the stone. using a stone of this size will aid in the opening of your heart chakra and a deeper emotional appreciation of events around you.
If you feel that you need help in becoming grounded and more powerfully connected with the world of physical reality, you should blend this stone with the power of the root chakra.
You can do this by wearing or carrying it somewhere close to the base of your spine, such as on a belt buckle for low-rise jeans or in your back pocket.
This will keep its power closest to the seat of your grounding energy.
Like all black and dark-colored stones, Apache Tears effectively absorb negative energy, drawing it into themselves, and cloaking you from its toxic effects.
For this reason, the value of these stones cannot be understated when they are being used to take you through challenging situations in a constructive manner.

What stone would be recommended for someone seeking stability in life? As I get older, I find that my life works very well with routine. Do the same stuff every day for good results. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I can expand on it if needed.

I recommend granite. Stay away from onyx and hematite. A large rose quartz is good for self esteem. Sodalite with amethyst is a good combination for keeping you grounded and mindful.

Kyanite has a high positive vibration and it never needs cleansing because it does not pick up negative energy...Kyanite supports loyalty, stability, and self-expression while always encouraging positive engagement with others...

JahaRa and Nivek have given excellent suggestions!
to this I add Bloodstone.
The bloodstone is an extremely powerful crystal. It is a form of chalcedony with specks jasper and both aspects bring strong, grounding vibrations that connect with the root chakra. it resonates not only with the root chakra, but also the heart chakra; therefore, it aligns the lower chakras with the heart chakra and provides physical and emotional strength.
during meditation place a Bloodstone in your lap. hold red tigers eye in both hands palm up wear a necklace with an apache tear on your heart and a Moldavite on your crown chakra.
Moldavite is a crystal that radiates energy, and upon first touch, you can feel the warmth it gives off. This warmth is so common that it has developed the term "Moldavite flush". The "flush" sends vibrations through the body and will imbue the user in a light tingly sensation. Some new users say it is a little over-whelming and will take it off or out of there pocket periodically as they feel “lightheaded”. Its usually recommended to always have a grounding stone nearby when you first start working with it to help avoid Moldavite being too strong. This is where the Bloodstone shines! Over time, the strength will be less overwhelming as you get used to the stone.
Moldavite is an intensely spiritual stone and can transform and transmute your consciousness like no other. A warning is in order. if you use Moldavite without a grounding stone you could find your self in the realm of extradimensional entities.
many are hostile and delight in tormenting an unprepared adept.
it is my hope you find this of some use!

Bloodstone can handle a lot of energy channeled through it too, I have a particular specimen of this gemstone that I use for healing...

this is why I use it to offset the powerful energy of Moldavite. I also use Bloodstone in healing rituals. its power is known by shamans for ages.

Thanks so much. David Paulides has stated that natural deposits of granite are often found in the cluster areas of disappearances. What do you think about that? Too much granite might be dangerous?

Thanks, I can only describe my experiences with gemstones, I often do my own work and tests and later compare to what's been said in ages gone by others who have used them...

The Moldavite sounds like an interesting gemstone I've never had in my possession before nor have done any work with...Previously I would have no reservations about purchasing some Moldavite and visiting this realm you spoke of, however given my experience in recently past events I'm a bit more reserved and wise about jumping into such places simply out of curiosity lol...

From what I have read, there is alot of fake Moldavite out there. I suppose it would be wisest to start out with something common.

Moldavite Incense is made of extremely rare blend of essential oils and real Moldavite. Actual Moldavite is added during the application of oils producing a very strong energy output during burning.
Moldavite, prized by humans for thousand of years, is still given as a gift among royalties. This green gem, is one of the rarest minerals on Earth - perhaps rarer then diamond, rubies and emeralds. Rick is correct in that there is a LOT of fakes out there!
Moldavite is a tektite - a mysterious group of glassy objects, that is the product of a meteor collision with Earth nearly 15 million years ago.

It is believed to have fallen from the sky only once, over what is now the Moldau River Valley in Czech Republic. there is less than 200 tons of the stone in the world!
