Reincarnation

From certain perspectives, such a happening would seem to go against nature, go against the natural order of things, however given that nature and laws that govern our existence and this reality it seems inevitable for something like that to happen to someone at some point...

...
I once knew someone that was obsessed with the idea that some people reincarnate sequentially and most people split themselves and incarnate to many bodies at the same time. they talked about what this would mean for someone one way or the other.
and in the stories they told me, this awakening does happen.

Some people do believe that time is an illusion and that things do not really occur in a linear fashion. They believe you can be reincarnated into a life in what we would call the past or the future.

I've also heard some talk about the notion of being incarnated in many bodies at once. That's kind of difficult to fathom. It's reminds me of the Many Worlds Theory and the idea that there could be an almost infinite number of us in the multiverse.

This sort of makes sense to me. I never could quite grasp an infinite number of MEs in infinite combinations, even if Spock wants to sell me a cool necklace that says so. Sounds impossibly messy. But one big version of me with little parts all over time and space that make up a larger entity comprising all of my experiences in all incarnations, somehow I can get my head around that.

So for example someone slips into 7 different incarnations at the same time in various places in the past and future, what if one of those incarnations becomes self-aware, becoming consciously awake and aware of his/her situation independent of the self who originally slip into those 7 incarnations, what happens when that self-aware incarnation dies?...Does it become it's own entity, possessing it's own soul body having it's own opportunities and choices or does it get absorbed back with the original conscious being that split into 7 incarnations with everything learned and gained absorbed back into the original whole?...What do you think would happen at death to that 1 of 7 incarnations that became self-aware and awake?...

from the accounts that I have read, either path can happen.
some talk of some of the incarnations that go off on there own and never come back.
and some root entities are banking on that awakened one to come back and get them out of this place.
I don't really like the idea, but it seems as if conscious has a fluid like nature, and bits can be moved around in the containers in all kinds of ways.

Considering the size of the system you'd think that statistically it does happen.

This would be a question for James Leininger. His case gives me the willies. I'm not sure that someone in his position can tell you what happens when they die. I've read through a lot of the (old dry foreign) accounts the UVA Division of Perceptual Studies publishes on reincarnation, many which make veridical claims and I have yet to hear about the process itself. As if from our p.o.v here it isn't visible or as important as the result.

Once in a while I'll have some fantastic vision in my head of some time or place I've never been. Always just attributed it to daydreaming and reading a lot. Could be real memories too. How would we know?

All things considered I have a practical concern about the process. I've seen people die. The dying part looks like the easy bit, it's getting there that's the hard road

I have never heard of splitting into 7 different incarnations as such. or being reincarnated into the past. I`ve had a NDE and was given a choice, one of which was reincarnation to the future. Ever since i was kid and still to this day, sometimes just with a passing glance at my hands , they look all covered with blood, i do a double take very often. my neurologist when i was getting diagnosed and first being treated for seizures told me it was visions of my past life. he was also the one that put me in the post hypnotic regression to find out bout the 4 hours of missing time i had. but besides that What about the lives of Gautama Buddha. would that be in reference to any this. Gautama Buddha was incarnated in form of human beings, various animals, benevolent spirits, or as deities residing in the heavenly realms of the Buddhist cosmos.

Anyone think much about karma in their own lives? I'm not so much talking about leftovers from previous lives, but the karmic burden we create for ourselves in this current life. I feel like I am carrying around a karmic debt the size and scope of Hanford Nuclear Reservation from all my bad decisions. Much like Hanford, cleaning up all my karmic radioactive waste will take several lifetimes. I am trying to turn the corner, and make good decisions. It's not easy, no question about it.

The 12 step program that AA uses seems to have some usefulness. There is a step that is atonement, which means you face those you have wronged and admit what you did and how you now feel about it. That seems like a very useful action to take if you want to lighten the burdens of poor choices. It does not have anything to do with the other person, it is about you taking responsibility. Otherwise, I think the only karma we really can face and deal with in this life is the karma that was created in this life. Buddhism is a good path for acceptance and understanding of yourself.

the 12 step program is a spiritual journey, and it works.
shaman have been using it for a long time.

I have been looking into a strong possibility. our youngest daughter every time she is in the presence of large snake like a boa or a anaconda has major fear reaction she is afraid the snake will hurt her or eat her. In her daisy scouts outings she is less fearful of smaller snakes. a youthful fear of a trauma of a past life? she also has Identified the model of the titanic and told us "they made a second one Olympic." At 6 she should not know much about such a trivial detail but then again my husband is a big titanic buff.

Karma as the cosmic bar tab. Eventually you have to pay up after what you've been doing. Much like going to the Pearly Gates and being judged by a bearded St. Peter at the rostrum before your Fate is decided. Common theme. In a secular setting some people would think ET would fill that role.

Anything we really need to know about Life naturally comes out of the TV set :) Been a little absorbed with Lucifer and there's one statement he made that I liked about Hell being of your own creation and that the door is never locked. If you can be honest with yourself about your own behavior you already passed the test and are in no danger of being locked away in regret. Too many people lie to themselves and rationalize away the unpleasant parts. That's building your life on a shaky foundation, IMO.

Just went through a tough stretch with a friend and his family. They invented self-serving rationalization. Grave, life threatening situation. Certain members of his family have not really stepped up to do anything, rather have been hiding behind various excuses. Sometimes I hear from them as I did last night looking for something from me. I suppose they want me to say something to make them feel better and play the game which I won't do. Don't say anything rude, just don't buy into it. Thing is, what I think or say is totally irrelevant. They are the ones who have to put their heads on the pillow at night and live with their actions, not me. If it affected me somehow that's my own issue.

Probably just a natural human reaction to a large snake that actually could eat her. I was raised with snakes and tarantulas and lizards of all kinds. I am afraid of big boas and other excessively large snakes, I think people who have them as pets are crazy. Maybe you think that isn't normal?

many many people have a fear of snakes and spiders even if they have never seen one before this life.
researchers attribute this to DNA programming.
I attribute this to past life memory and all the times death was caused by snakes and spiders.

I've been told that "karma" is misappropriated in how we understand and use the term. It's a bastardization. In truth karma is an eastern philosophy that is very different in how it is understood and believed to be applied to humans. We westerners don't know what the hell we are talking about when we say "karma". The same for reincarnation. Westerners seem to think that when we reincarnate we always reincarnate again as human. This just isn't the case and was not taught to be that way in it's original eastern belief system.

I agree with you, however that doesn't preclude a personal understanding or definition of those terms. There always have been people who believe in karma and reincarnation in the west though they didn't always use that wording. These ideas have been historically suppressed, so they were never mainstream. I think that the emphasis on the "born again" experience in Evangelical Christianity serves largely the same purpose as the understanding of karma and reincarnation in Eastern religions. It serves as means of redemption from past bad choices and rebirth as a "new creature in Christ", albeit within the same physical lifetime.

I do not see reincarnation nor karma having anything to do with this, to me reincarnation isn't about redemption, good and bad are subjective in this physical existence and have no real basis in the higher echelons of existence because neither implications truly exist no more than the concept of time does...

Could this woman have been Irish in a past life to gain this accent after surgery?...

Australian woman wakes up from surgery on her tonsils speaking in an IRISH accent

.

It appears that whatever happened to cause this change of her accent has left her permanently with an Irish accent...

Australian Woman Who Woke Up From Surgery With Irish Accent May Be Stuck With It for Life

(Excerpt)

Due to the lack of science behind the condition, it’s unclear whether Yen will still be able to get her Australian accent back. Even if the condition ceases, it is possible for it to recur later in life, her doctors warned.
  • Yen says she was offered speech therapy, but she described it as “just trying to fake my Ozzie accent.” She also said her new Irish brogue gets thicker when she’s “really tired or fatigued or had a really bad day.”
  • “I have tried very, very hard but it is like a rubber band. The best way I can explain it is, the harder you pull the rubber band away the harder you pull back to Irish,” Yen told The Hard Shoulder.
  • Yen, however, is not only dealing with her condition. She’s also tired of social media users who ridicule her and claim that she’s faking the whole thing.
  • “I’m sick of being taken as a joke. It's a very serious thing,” she told 60 Minutes.
  • 60 Minutes also interviewed Kate Baggs, who spoke with an Irish accent while recovering from a hemiplegic migraine in 2019. “In the middle of a sentence, my accent just shifted,” she told the outlet.

It's Dain Bramage, not reincarnation. In my medical opinion :)

If she woke up fluent in a dead language then there would be some cud to chew
