There's a grey area in the legality of these requirements because the vaccines currently do not have full FDA approval...However once the FDA does give full approval there is nothing to stop implementation of restrictive measures against all the unvaccinated...This will no doubt also cause some racial tensions since the black population in the US has the largest percentage of unvaccinated people...

My sister had to take her husband to the ER this morning. She was not allowed inside as she was tested positive a little over 2 weeks ago. She is feeling better and has no fever but she was told she won't be over it until she no longer test positive. And then she has to wait 3 months before she can get the vaccine. This is the second time her husband had had it, the first time was early on in 2020 (Jan he was hospitalized). My neice had a party with a few friends and a couple of them weren't feeling well, turns out they had covid and gave it to everyone else. My sister said that they hadn't worried about getting the virus because her husband had it already and they all were around him taking care of him then. But now here they are. So far the only one who hasn't shown symptoms is my niece's 7 year old daughter. And school starts next week. I don't know how they are going to handle that.

In my experience it seems to take a longer exposure at short range to contract it. Riding in a closed car with someone, in a room with a bunch of people eating dinner. Bumping in to them at the supermarket probably not so much.
When this first started people were scared shitless and if you beamed in from 1.5 years in the future with the vaccine people would kill you for it. Now people are second guessing it all despite ready availability. Why? Because of all the ridiculous nonsense we've been hearing.

Thing with me is I can be defiant, but not in an intentionally bad way...I've been wearing a masks again for the past few weeks before all these mandates came back, I did it willingly but only in shops that have larger amounts of people in them, like Walmart or the grocery store, not so much when getting petrol at a convenience store or going in a pet shop...
Now these mask mandates have returned and I'm not inclined to wear one anymore just because big brother is now telling us we must...I don't need someone telling me to wear a mask and when or where, I was perfectly fine making my own decision and choice without it being demanded of me...I'm really sick of all the crap spewing out from all corners and sources in our society concerning this pandemic, which boils down to finger-pointing and shifting blame instead of trying to work together and trying to educate people on the reality of the situation but without all the social and political messaging baggage...

I don't hire day laborers, period but there are no lack of people who do. You work at a big box home improvement store they are in there all the time in some form and I deal with them on every single shift. People are people, if I had a Babel fish in my ear and had zero communications problems I have absolutely no doubt I'd find that some are normal, some are not, some are just stupid and some are just a******s. Typical Bell curve.
I'm not going to give a scared kid with a list a hard time, I'll give him what's on the list. If someone can't speak English I am patient. Spanish isn't the only language I don't understand. Had an elderly Chinese man use some sort of app to translate which he had ready before he approached me and got what he wanted quickly. What particularly irks me is young men who show up who appear to be day laborers and illegal as hell unable to speak to me and are kind of arrogant about it.
A young kid shows up speaking German or Russian is shit out of luck but these guys expect to be catered to because they are. No need to speak the language, no need to follow the rules and laws I do, pay taxes or anything. In fact I'll just pay for them after they just show up because we just opened the doors and let them all in. If I object or point out the relative insanity of this I am obviously a racist, unenlightened and should be canceled.
Today specifically what's up my ass right now is they have no need to get a vaccination or wear a mask but I sure as hell do despite having had the virus and the vaccine.
There is a parallel to gun control. Rules are for people who follow rules and when you want to be seen 'doing something about the problem' burden them with some more rules and don't worry if they make any sense or not.. The people who fail to follow them won't care

I thought the rule was that even if you are healthy, if someone in your circle has the virus, you self isolate the entire group because even if you don't have it, you can spread it to others as a carrier?

I thought we all were perfectly fine making our own decisions regarding keeping ourselves safe until I just read JaHaRa's post regarding her sisters family.
Regarding trying to educate people is the fact that there is so much disinformation out there that appears so damned authentic. Anyone caught deliberately spreading disinformation on this pandemic should be heavily fined.
We are back to normal here regarding rules and regulations. I believe it is because this is tourist season and the province needs the revenue. It started to relax masks as of July 1st. I haven't been anywhere since then except thru the McDonald's drive thru. I'm not scared. I just hate crowds and line-ups.
