Deadly Wuhan Coronavirus

With covid I feel as if the storm has passed and here we are days later and yet for some reason everyone is still nuts over it.

Yep kind of sums it up for me, I feel like covid is about done with us on any grand scale yet the powers that be along with their henchmen and messengers seem bound and determined to keep up the appearances of a full blown pandemic with alarms bells still ringing and fear flavoured kool-aid being served...

At this point everyone should know the risks and whatnot of covid, so we need to stop all the fear mongering and get things back to normal or as close to normal as can be...There are more pressing issues for the country than Covid-19 and I don't see covid as a major threat to humanity anymore, not as I once did last year when shit hit the fan...The Delta variant was a base hitter for a bit but not a major threat with vaccinations in full swing, we need to stop all of these ridiculous mandates and vilifying one another for personal choices about covid...Enough is enough...

I am not sure what I was more worried about- a virus, or a shortage of toilet paper.

I got vaxed. Even had #3. No issues... mild ache where I had the shot. Slight chill the next day. Otherwise all fine and dandy.... although, my glowing skin did make it hard to sleep initially, and the antennas I sprouted after the second shot are a bit itchy...

But seriously, Glad things are getting back to normal.

Wait, what IS normal anyway? Nevermind... rhetorical question.

Meh, normal I think, is subjective, each individual likely having their own view of what a normal life consists of...

Regardless of whether these third shots is actually required or not, the blatant fear mongering has affected people - some that caught me by surprise

People, including me, have, and still are questoning the nature of this so-deined plague - But are you willing to dispute these statistics - Knowing your life may depend upon it ?

COVID-19 Forecasts: Deaths
Updated Oct. 13, 2021

"This week’s national ensemble predicts that the number of newly reported COVID-19 deaths will likely decrease over the next 4 weeks, with 3,900 to 13,100 new deaths likely reported in the week ending November 6, 2021. The national ensemble predicts that a total of 740,000 to 762,000 COVID-19 deaths will be reported by this date......."

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

That's about 3/4 of a million people - And even if you say many, especially older and people with underlining conditions, would have died anyway - Still, like heavy cigarette smoking, it is what it is:

Nope. That's why I was happy to get the Vax.

Hope it works, cuz sheilds are down and I am resuming lunch with small groups of friends and seeing family for long visits again.

Same here, I had no problem getting the vax and my shields have been down for a month and half now since resuming full time work and having friends come by the house more often...My family is also resuming Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner this year which I'll be attending, but the family is all vaccinated too...

I got the vaccine but have been up to my eyeballs in human contact the whole time. I have to say, small gatherings and sharing car rides is where the risk is; obviously less so now with the shots. But walking around outside with masks on, people driving alone with them on, all that insanity, not so much.

NIH ADMITS to funding gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at China's Wuhan lab despite Dr. Fauci repeatedly insisting to Congress that it did not happen

The National Institutes of Health has finally admitted to funding gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses in it's Wuhan laboratory despite Dr. Fauci's constant denials to congress.

.
Hehehe.
I dont think you can play with viruses in a lab without a posibility of gain-of-function, since that is a prime directive of a virus anyway.

Veteran NASA engineer says she'll RETIRE if her application for a religious exemption from COVID vaccine is rejected and insists it's her First Amendment right NOT to get the shot

Sophia Smith (left), a Christian member of the Johnson Space Center Praise and Worship Club, said it was her First Amendment right to not be vaccinated and said she took issue with fetal cell lines used to develop the vaccines as a pro-life advocate. She helped organize a protest of more than 100 NASA employees (top-right) last week against President Joe Biden's vaccine mandate for all government employees.

Biden says cops and other first responders SHOULD be fired for not getting the vaccine and mocks people who use 'freedom' as a defense for refusing a shot during CNN town hall

President Joe Biden said police officers and emergency workers who refuse COVID-19 vaccination should stay home or be fired, as he answered questions during a CNN town hall on Thursday evening. 'Yes and yes,' he said to a thunderous round of applause. 'By the way, I waited until July, to talk about mandating, because I tried everything else possible. Mandates are working.'

Rand Paul launches fresh attack on Fauci after NIH admits it DID fund gain of function research: Senator says DOJ is too busy going 'after moms complaining about what they teach in school' to investigate

Sen. Rand Paul said that while he did feel validated after the new revelation was made on Thursday, the news should focus on a push for the US to end dangerous gain of function research projects. Paul had confronted Dr. Anthony Fauci earlier this year of lying about the NIH's involvement in coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a claim Fauci fought back against, calling Paul a liar.

Cruel Fauci is condemned for spending $2m on experiments which saw beagles 'de-barked' and trapped in cages so flies could eat them alive. Bi-partisan fury at 'reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds'

Dr. Anthony Fauci is under fire over after the White Coat Waste Project exposed that the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has spent millions of taxpayer dollars on four experiments involving beagle puppies. One of the alleged experiments involved a painful and 'unnecessary' de-barking procedure called a cordectomy, while others used the dogs as bait for flesh-eating sand flies.

In response, a group of 24 lawmakers, led by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), are now demanding Fauci provide answers about the experiments they believe to be 'cruel' and a 'reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds.' 'According to documents obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request by taxpayer watchdog group White Coat Waste Project, and subsequent media coverage, from October 2018 until February 2019, NIAID spent $1.68million in taxpayer funds on drug tests involving 44 beagle puppies,' the letter from lawmakers reads. That larger amount encompasses a wider experiment which saw the beagles force-fed drugs before they were killed and dissected. 'While documents state that the ostensible purpose of this study was to 'provide data of suitable quality and integrity to support application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory agencies,' the FDA itself has recently stated that it 'does not mandate that human drugs be studied in dogs.''

Yeah, I certainly do wonder. Maybe they could just stockpile the excess or send it to another country along with all the Ford ventilators that weren't needed.

Regardless of whether these third shots is actually required or not, the blatant fear mongering has affected people - some that caught me by surprise. I have family members out of state who refused to believe me when I told them what it was like around here; too much media input and not enough listening to those of us up to our necks in it. They came hesitantly, fully expecting Andromeda Strain and guess what ? Nope. True, there were one or two very small shops we wanted to go in that required a mask but that was no big deal. No roadblocks, nobody gives a **** if you have a vax card or not. And very few people are wearing masks. And also guess what? Nobody's dropping dead either. Out of 300K people in this county there are 18 people in all three hospitals combined. I guarantee that of them, there are those who are probably classified as covid for one reason or another - maybe legitimately - who might have it but are in the hospital for different reasons. My friend spent weeks in a covid ward in the biggest hospital around here and never suffered so much as a sniffle from covid, yet he was terminally ill. Had he died there it would have been classified as covid related.

I am reminded of the local news when we have a big Northeaster roll in. Everyone goes nuts like they never saw snow before and the media leading up to the beginning of the storm amps everything up to a ridiculous degree. Every word pregnant with disaster - way beyond a simple public service every word is pregnant with anticipation. It's almost fun in a way. With covid I feel as if the storm has passed and here we are days later and yet for some reason everyone is still nuts over it.
It is rare to be snowed in for much more than a day. Yet people flock to the stores like an asteroid is about to hit Earth. I tend to ride it out if I can.
