England has introduced an NHS (National Health Service) Covid Pass for attending events and venues:

Getting a digital NHS COVID Pass

To get a digital NHS COVID Pass for domestic events and venues, you need one of the following.

To be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine used in the UK
The NHS COVID Pass is usually available 2 weeks after you're fully vaccinated.

A positive PCR test within the past 6 months (not available in the Isle of Man)
The NHS COVID Pass is available after you've finished self-isolating and up to 180 days after taking the test.

A negative PCR test or negative lateral flow test within the past 48 hours (not available in the Isle of Man)
The NHS COVID Pass is available as soon as you get your result. If you did a rapid lateral flow test at home, you need to report the result first. Find out how to report a rapid lateral flow test result

To be part of an official COVID-19 vaccine trial in England or Wales
The NHS COVID Pass is now available to you. Contact your clinical trial site if you cannot get your domestic NHS COVID Pass.

A confirmed medical exemption from COVID-19 vaccination or testing
The NHS COVID Pass is available once a doctor, clinician or midwife has approved your exemption application. COVID-19 medical exemptions: proving you are unable to get vaccinated (GOV.UK).
So a positive PCR test within the past 6 months, and after the isolation period, is considered proof of Covid immunity.

The Royal Albert Hall, London’s most famous venue, accepts COVID antibodies as part of its COVID pass. Why doesn’t anywhere in the USA?

We don't have any type of covid pass process in the US and personally I don't see any necessity for one...I think its an overreaction and another layer of control...

How many shots does one need?...They will continue to tell people to get boosters, a 3rd shot, then a 4th, then a 5th and on and on...To hell with that nonsense...Why get shots because of Omicron when its milder than a cold...Meanwhile Pfizer is raking in billions...

DR. ANDREAS NOACK, whistleblower found dead

Arrested and found dead while in police lockup after conference call with fellow doctors in Austria.

Dr. Andreas Noack is a well-known and accomplished Austrian chemist. Who had begun providing free live online seminars to help educate doctors in Austria as to the dangers of the Covid 19 vaccine and its ingredients in particular adjuvant Graphene oxide. On November 19th, 2021, Dr. Noack gave this seminar: (on link)

Within hours of concluding this free seminar, Dr. Noack was arrested by police on unspecified charges and removed from his home. Within hours of his arrest and detainment, Dr. Noack wife sent out a distressing message. Her husband Andreas was dead, allegedly beaten to death by unknown assailants while in the custody of the police.

.

According to this politifact.com, the post is not true.

Our ruling
A Facebook post claimed that government agents murdered German chemist Andreas Noack after he revealed that Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine contains graphene.

Pfizer’s vaccine doesn’t contain graphene.

Noack’s partner said that he died from a heart attack, and Austrian police said that he died from natural causes. And the claim alludes to a raid by government agents, but that raid occurred a year before Noack died.

We rate the post False.

PolitiFact - German chemist was not killed by ‘government operatives’ after revealing ‘secret’ about vaccine

Austria SCRAPS lockdown for vaccinated people three weeks after rules came in - but the un-jabbed still face restrictions despite tens of thousands hitting streets in protest

Austria ended lockdown restrictions for vaccinated people across most of the country on Sunday, three weeks after re-imposing strict rules to combat a rising wave of coronavirus infections. The rules, which vary by region within the country, largely allowed for the reopening of theatres, museums and other cultural and entertainment venues to the fully jabbed on Sunday. But unvaccinated Austrians will still be subject to the lockdown restrictions and should remain at home for all but a handful of reasons, like buying groceries, going to the doctor and exercising. The move comes as anger continues to mount in the country, with tens of thousands of protesters taking to the streets in Vienna (right: protesters demonstrating on Saturday), Graz and Bregenz (left: protesters demonstrating on Sunday) over the weekend to demonstrate against mandatory Covid vaccines and confinement orders as unvaccinated Austrians are set to be fined and restricted in the coming months. Since the start of the lockdown, new case numbers (inset) have plummeted in the small Alpine country. On Friday, Austria reported 367.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, down from 1,102.4 on the first day of the lockdown in November.

Dr. Oz says Fauci should be ‘held accountable,’ suggests he resign after ‘misleading’ Americans on COVID

TV personality and medical professional Dr. Mehmet Oz is calling for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be "held accountable," suggesting that he should resign as Americans have lost "faith and confidence" in his service.

Oz, who announced last month that he was joining the race for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, took aim at Fauci in a statement to the New York Post. "Dr. Anthony Fauci has lost the faith and confidence of the American people," Oz said. "It’s time for a new face talking to the American people, one that is more trusted."

Oz also stated he believes Fauci "should be held accountable for misleading, whether willfully or unintentionally, the American public and the United States Congress" on matters relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fauci, who heads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, faced immense scrutiny from the American people after he shifted positions and contradicted himself on a number of guidelines, including the usage of face masks and the threat of COVID-19 in America.

Earlier this year, Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, proposed the "FIRED" (Fauci Incompetence Requires Early Dismissal) Act in light of his mixed messaging. "Dr. Fauci is at odds with the CDC," Davidson said in May. "He has repeatedly put political science ahead of the science on COVID-19."

Israel bans its citizens from travelling to Britain, Denmark and Belgium from Wednesday due to spread of Omicron

Israel is banning its citizens from travelling to Britain, Denmark and Belgium from Wednesday due to the spread of the Omicron variant. A senior Israeli health official told a news conference of the latest travel restrictions in the country. Sharon Alroy-Preis, head of public health at Israel's Health Ministry said the three countries are being placed on the 'red' list because of the 'significant' spread of the Omicron variant.

Since the Omicron variant was discovered, some 50 countries have been placed on Israel's red list, mostly in Africa. Health officials said there have been 55 confirmed cases of Omicron in Israel.

The country has been trying to accelerate its vaccination drive as around 1 million people have refused to get vaccinated. Israel is also seeking to enforce stricter mask mandates. It was also decided that Green Pass restrictions in the country would be introduced at shopping centres, meaning unvaccinated Israelis cannot enter.

The Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is facing calls to impose tougher restrictions in Israel over the coming days. It comes after the spread of the virus yesterday hit a three-month peak and the R-number climbed to 1.1. Fears are growing that there will be a wave of Omicron in Israel.

A little long but well said...

Please Stop With the Omicron Panic

We are still waiting for the picture to come into focus on the Omicron variant. There are three main questions that need answering:

  1. Is it more contagious than other strains?
  2. Does it cause more serious disease?
  3. Does it evade the vaccines at a level that disrupts the new equilibrium we've settled on as a society? And relatedly, will it require a booster dose?
These things are all relative and fluid. The early evidence suggests the variant is very contagious and a third dose makes a significant difference, but we don't know a whole lot for sure. This is not something you would have gleaned from much of the news media, however, which has reported on Omicron cases like they are Ebola from the first moment the World Health Organization announced there was a new variant of concern. We should obviously monitor this situation very closely, but the coverage has been completely irresponsible. On Monday, we were treated to another example of this from the venerable newswire Reuters, which prides itself on Objectively Relaying the Bare Facts, No Chaser.

The headline?

Most reported U.S. Omicron cases have hit the fully vaccinated -CDC

And how many cases were examined?

43.

Of the 43 people, 34 were vaccinated. Just for context, the United States has seen 50 million reported COVID cases. (In reality, as with "reported" Omicron cases, there are far more actually out there.) But we're making this grand statement based on 43 examples. Was there an explanation for why these particular cases constituted a representative sample that would be useful in extrapolating what we can expect throughout the general population? No. But they did get me to click on the article. Because I am fully vaccinated and I am interested in whether the Omicron variant will break through the vaccine defenses. Not that you could learn that, really, from this article, which will serve primarily as a cudgel for anti-vax types to beat the rest of us with. God knows they won't be concerned about the sample size, even after all the research experience they're getting down in their basements.

How many people, anti-vax or otherwise, will get far enough down the story to read that most of the 43 people had mild symptoms, and just one was hospitalized for two days? Couldn't this also be the headline?

Most reported U.S. Omicron cases have mild symptoms -CDC

Or maybe we could just not make global claims based on such a small sample size!

Everyone in this business wants to write a story, and a headline, that will get people reading. But we have some obligations here when the balance of life we've settled on in recent months is so delicate. Can we just wait for more evidence that we should freak the fuck out before doing so? Can we not do this?

This also gets at some interesting questions with regard to Objective Journalism. Reuters is reporting on a CDC report here, but added the following: "While the numbers are very small, they add to growing concerns that current COVID-19 vaccines may offer less protection against the highly transmissible new variant." But the job, as a disseminator of information, involves making a determination as to whether the numbers are too small to legitimately add to those growing concerns, concerns that you're helping to grow by publishing this article under this headline. Does making that determination constitute having an opinion about the story, and allowing your opinion to impact how and whether you report it? Or do all of these decisions have a subjective element that is unavoidable considering this is a human endeavor, and deep down it's a judgment call based on some combination of knowledge, experience, and values?

(Just last week, pretty much the entire news media made the decision that the military spending bill that sailed through the House of Representatives should not be subject to scrutiny with regard to The National Debt or inflation. Meanwhile, the Build Back Better Act is constantly subject to that scrutiny. This was simply a subjective decision made across much of the media-political class. The defense bill is far larger on a per-year basis than the social-spending bill.)

Meanwhile, in another theater of the vaccine war, CNBC hosted the CEO of Pfizer and he already started talking about a fourth (4th!) dose. Look man, I got a booster, but let's maybe wait to ask the hot dog vendor whether we need another hot dog. This stuff is also grist for the conspiracy mill, as the tales of Big Pharma write themselves. Telling people they'll soon need a fourth dose is not the best way, in this layman's view, to get them to take a third. And while he might be right, we don't know that yet! It is conjecture from someone with a financial interest in that outcome. Surely we can do better than this.

I may have already had Omicron. I read this article today:

The Omicron symptom common in many of those infected

It says that people with Omicron complain of a 'scratchy throat' as a common symptom. I came down with a cold last month, with symptoms beginning on the 26th of November (a Friday), which is the day that the WHO named Omicron as a variant of concern, after South Africa informed the WHO of the discovery on the 24th. I am pretty sure I caught it from a member of my household who came down with symptoms the Monday of that week, and who had slightly worse symptoms than I did. They went for a PCR test, as they developed a new cough, but the result came back negative. A negative PCR test is not proof of negativity, as a genuine positive case will test negative about thirty percent of the time. They were also required to take their own sample at the testing centre, as there were obviously no trained staff to perform testing. My cold did not have any of the classic Covid symptoms which qualify one for a PCR test (cough, fever, and loss of smell), so I just laid low for ten days, and my symptoms cleared up in that time.

But anyway, the most salient symptom of my brief illness was a sore throat, with a sensation that I would describe as scratchy. The article above is saying that a 'scratchy throat' is something that Omicron patients frequently complain of. It is likely that Omicron has been spreading in the community in England since at least as early as the 16th of November.

The government is now going on a booster drive to get as many people boosted as possible. They are going to add the booster as a requirement for eligibility for the Covid Pass, needed for foreign travel, and to get into large venues and events. This has led to a rush for booster doses, and the government is going to have to jab a million people a day to reach its target of getting a booster to every eligible adult by the end of December (the best rate of vaccination it ever managed before was shy of 900,000 for a single day last March). This seems rather silly, as, from reports, it would appear that this virus is the most communicable known to science, and it is projected to expose almost everyone in the country in the next couple of weeks, and the booster immunity takes several days to have an effect, and may blunt the immune system's effectiveness for a few days post-vaccination. Plus, vaccine centres are going to become hotbeds of transmission if what they are saying about the transmissibility is true. The government are taking precious few other measures to flatten the curve of infection, beyond telling everyone to go out and get jabs (Pfizer and Moderna only, now). They advised everyone to work at home if they can, but have done little to limit mass gatherings, and have even encouraged people to go to office Christmas parties in concert with telling them to work from home. My own workplace's Christmas party was cancelled on announcement of the working from home advice, however.

In case anyone is interested. Here is the UK emergency announcement and also the video that talks about zinc and vitamin D doses. I also want to add that Dr. John Campbell includes his forecast for the United States and Canada because we will be hit by the same wave, just a little bit later than the UK.

I may have already had Omicron.
Are there any tests available to you that could reveal if you've previously had Covid?...

(Pfizer and Moderna only, now)
What happened to AstraZeneca?...That's a British made vaccine and you can't get it in Britain?...

I don't want to get any booster shot, but the pressure is on from some of my family members since a small Covid outbreak has occurred at my workplace...I'm mainly concerned about the blood clot issue which seems to be a problem, if only minor, for all of the vaccine brands...Of course, since I'm a J&J guinea, if I were to get a booster it will be J&J or none...I do have a leftover three week supply of a blood thinner that I was taking briefly earlier this year and coincidentally I was on that blood thinner when I got the first covid shot...So I've considered taking the rest of that supply of blood thinner medication if I do decide to get the booster...
