Rover to investigate mystery cube-shaped object on the Moon

China's Yutu-2 rover has set its sights on a very strange object spotted far off in the distance. There have been a lot of claims about anomalous objects on the lunar surface over the years, but this one - which was captured on camera by China's Yutu-2 rover - appears to be the real deal.

Exhibiting a distinctive cube-like shape that stands out on the horizon against the blackness of space, this mysterious object has attracted the attention of Chinese scientists who have since decided to send the rover all the way over to investigate exactly what it is.

The fact that it is situated on the hidden far side of the Moon only serves to heighten the intrigue. The photograph has already succeeded in piquing the curiosity of social media users who have been speculating over what the mysterious object could be.

While the suggestions have ranged from an extraterrestrial probe to a monolith straight out of '2001: A Space Oydssey', it is also possible that the 'cube' is in fact nothing more than a common boulder. One way or the other, things should become clearer as the rover approaches its target. We will be sure to cover what, if anything, it does find once it reaches its destination.

It will be interesting what it turns out to be.
What is really needed is a remote controlled drone.

At Peace.
It's obviously a gas station... you can see a canopy above two gas pumps.

No lights on, so it has either been abandoned some time or the patrons dont use light...

If you look carefully, there seems to be a paved road in front.

It seems like a taco stand should be somewhere close by, but I can't make one out.

I'm a bit fuzzy on something.

We're all excited because there is now a sitting UAP Task Force. DoD's response has been the creation of something that appears to be deliberately obscure. But OK, we're at least 'having the conversation' as it's been said.

If we expect transparency or at least some admission from our government and/or military, then who exactly is keeping the secrets about bases and artificial objects on the Moon and Mars ? Isn't there a bit of cognitive dissonance going on there ?

I am not getting too wound up over the passing of a bill for transparency on UFOs. The government/military have dragged their feet since Roswell about this subject. I get the feeling those who hold the true power will say they will be open to this bill and then do nothing to follow through. I guess we will soon find out.

I'm glad they are bringing the rover to the object we will know soon.

DoD is still free to classify stuff for national security reasons, also there is still the old FOIA conundrum of how can you request a classification review on something when we don't know for sure what they even have? Still, I am hopeful that they will now feel the time is right to share more things and not punish people who come forward with their own stories.

Lunar 'Mystery Hut' Revealed to be Rock

The mystery surrounding the puzzling cube-like object spotted on the far side of the moon by China's Yutu 2 lunar rover has been solved as the country's space agency announced that it is simply a rock. The observation of the anomaly sparked worldwide headlines back in December when the China National Space Administration's Our Space website posted a photo of what they dubbed a 'mystery hut.' It was originally thought that it would take 2 to 3 months for the rover to reach the curious object and investigate it, but the space agency posted an update on Friday wherein they indicated that they couldn't "wait to know the final answer."

As such, they explained, scientists and engineers operating the rover "racked their brains to study how to make Yutu move in place as quickly as possible" while maintaining the safety of the precious robotic explorer. The team eventually devised a way for the vehicle to reach the 'hut' and set about on a somewhat arduous journey across the barren lunar surface. When the rover finally reached the object, the space agency said, "the drivers were a little disappointed" as the 'mystery hut' which once appeared to be a massive structure in the distance "turned out to be very small" and was merely just a rock.

While the revelation may disappoint those hoping that the anomaly was really an alien's house, the team noticed a humorous peculiarity that they had noticed. In a manner not unlike anomaly hunters scouring images of Mars in search of alien evidence, they marveled at how the rock bore an uncanny resemblance to a rabbit. This was particularly noteworthy since the rover is literally named after a lunar rabbit in Chinese folklore. Noting the synchronistic nature of the entire affair, the post detailing the discovery mused "was the fantasy of the 'mysterious house' on the horizon just its calling? Is all this fate or coincidence?"

Yep a big rock! :cool8: Not an alien hot dog stand. Hopefully the next rock will cause less excitement and folks can pay attention to the stuff flying around right here on Earth.
