Its not a problem if you keep your distance......I was 400 yards away and had no problems. Hope this guy knows what he is doing......I hope he has the correct cartridge and doesn't have a beard.

Watching lava flowing into the ocean is an amazing thing......where I saw it wasn't far to the west of this recent event.

These fissure flows do often cover a lot of ground.......these gentle flows are better than things like Krakatoa.

The power of nature is amazing......humanity hasn't seen a big series of fissure flows.

It looks inevitable that power plant is toast, I hope someone records good video of it getting consumed by lava...There's no danger that I can see from its destruction by lava...

So true......and those gases are always a hazard in that area......and will be in this area well after the lava is done at these current eruption vents. When I was in the area they still had hazardous gas warnings 7 or 8 years after the eruptions were done.

Sulfur is an asphyxiant.......the affects on the piping is a non-issue. The people should have built there.

The lava will likely destroy everything in the area.....the gases will be flowing from these rifts for years.

Place is stuffed. One guy they interviewed who lives there said he recently moved to that place to get away from Earthquakes in California !! Is he kidding ?
