The Shadow / Bob, I am curious with you posting things here that are critical of Gene Steinberg, aren't you concerned he is going to see what you've posted?

If The Shadow IS Bob Watson...wow...this would be the definition off schizophrenia. Just yesterday Watson was singing Steinberg's praises, defending him like a bulldog, moderating the Paracast forum...still...

I agree, it doesn't add up. We are being invited to join up here - grateful for a place to chat (yes) and as well many of us livid pissed because we gave Gene money, etc - and to find Gene's biggest cheerleader (one of his longest running enablers) on the Paracast being here presenting as not so great a cheerleader is - strange. Look at it from our perspective. It creates a momentary halt in forward motion: what to think?

IGene's worried the heck about him...Under Online Attacks!

That was a shut down. Bob had just resigned publicly on the thread. Gene then came on instructing Bob never to talk about Gene publicly. Bob came on and agreed to do so, asking something along the lines of: 'Is that okay now?' Then suddenly the posts were all deleted with Gene's post you have linked to sitting there.

IMaybe that is why "he" is here, hmm? Had dozens of posts removed after going absolutely out of control, swearing and using the strangest, jumbled language. And now Steinberg is playing Daddy with him.

I didn't see those posts, unless they were there and Gene was in the process of deleting so I only saw a few posts. Might be. What I saw were coherent and very short announcing his resignation and leaving the site.

"Chris says he has four other jobs to pay his bills…Which leads us to discussion about his cohost, Gene Steinberg. Their show, The Paracast, is on 35-40 AM/FM talk radio stations around the country, they have a huge audience, yet Gene is constantly begging for money. Chris says Gene “is doing a hell of a lot better than I am.” Chris tells us he never gets paid, that Gene “keeps shaming me to keep me there.” He says Gene is stuck in the 50s, that it is he who gets all the great guests. But he’s tired of reading 2-3 books a week and having to make all the phone calls."

I wonder what "a huge audience" really is, numbers-wise.

I also wonder how Gene Steinberg was "shaming" him to keep him there. Guilting him somehow...? He did the show for something like 8 years, didn't he? A weekly podcast is a lot of work (reading the books and doing other research, booking the guests, as he says) and real commitment (blocking out that time to work on it Every Week). Hard for me to believe he didn't feel he was getting something out of it, not money necessarily but something that made it worthwhile.

It bothers me how free Gene is with deleting posts. I am not saying people have some right to post anything they want on Gene's forum but, he seems awfully cavalier about removing posts he doesn't like.

I have seen the comments here that Gene is OCD. Do we know this, has he said it?

It caught my eye because in more than one of the long discussions online about his begging emails, the behavior has been described as seeming to be compulsive. I don't think any mental health professionals have offered an opinion but, if he does indeed really have OCD, I wonder if the begging emails are some compulsive behavior on his part.

That said it certainly seems like he does need whatever money he can get. Which is sad, the guy is 73 years old, but I think a lot of people are in the same or similar situations.

I really am not a fan of people picking on him and getting him to drive around Mesa chasing a handout or the like. But I do think it's entirely legitimate and understandable for people to call attention to and discuss his overall weird behavior of begging for years and years, all the while framing it as some temporary critical emergency. Gene acts like any questioning or discussion of his crazy ways is a hate crime against him, which only makes him seem shadier, in my opinion.

Even worse I feel sure some of his claims are lies or exaggerations. I do not believe anyone hacked his Twitter account for example, and it seems incredible to think his bank accounts have been hacked or exploited multiple times. So for me this calls into question a lot of what he says, although, again, I can believe that he does need money. The evictions would seem to prove that. Although it was curious how recently he needed almost $700 for car insurance right away, and came up with the money somehow. Hard for me to believe anyone donated enough to him that same day to bail him out, makes me wonder if he didn't actually have the cash, or if he now doesn't have car insurance. Hopefully he has car insurance if he's going to continue to drive.

Who knows.

Gene is a mystery, and one I will not be assisting in any way.

Imagine a prescription drug that makes you gamble, have sex, overeat, beg, and assume all the bad OCD behaviors you could ever want or hope to have, well look no further because Abilify is now linked to everything from crazed public sex sessions, to being so obsessed with weeding that you've been criminally banned from the next door neighbors yard for pulling weeds at 3 am.

Question. Did you use the same password for your Paracast account and Twitter? Do you see where I am going here?
y---
I do indeed.. and yes.. it did seem odd my twitter was hacked within hours of posting about gene on Twitter. Quite odd.
I always assumed it was someone on that Twitter site..But maybe not.

That's what Gene wanted you to think. Passwords are usually hashed and shouldn't be available for anyone to access BUT...there is no telling what Xenfro developers might do for their client, Gene.

What are you suggesting? Sorry, being clueless. :blush8: If you are suggesting what I think you are that's pretty darn bad.

BTW is there any chance - if Chris is always high - that Gene (perhaps even his wife) suffer from addiction? If either of them do it would explain a lot. Especially the willingness to sacrifice anyone and everyone who gets in the way of the money-line that pays for the addiction. Just a thought - a speculation.

I also wonder how Gene Steinberg was "shaming" Christopher OBrien to keep him there. Guilting him somehow...? He did the show for something like 8 years, didn't he? The part O'Brien doesn't talk about is the attention he got. Who knows who might have thrown him a buck or two, I did. I was told that half of my contribution would go from Gene Steinberg to O'Brien. He isn't the 'victim' he wants everyone to believe especially now that he is hawking his desert-find-UFOs camera routine. I wouldn't give him a red dime.
