I will tell you something I do enjoy and Soul might have experienced this too. Reading stories are difficult for me. I love to read and always have but over the years it has become harder to read novels. I get about a paragraph in and whatever character or scene I am reading on the page suddenly projects into real space. For instance, if I were reading Lord of the Rings and the paragraph was about Frodo then Frodo would be standing before me just as if he really were there. Now, that can be fun. I can briefly interact but if I do my comprehension of the words I'm reading fades and Frodo would be gone. But if I fall asleep at the moment he appears, as I often do, then Frodo and the story will continue on in a dreamscape of my own making. So, that is fun but makes it very difficult to get through a book. I usually just give up in frustration.

I've done something similar before reading fiction, I get to reading along and perhaps it's when I flip a page or glance away for a second, my imagination opens up and starts to continue the story along or imagine the character in some other story and allow myself to get distracted from reading the book lol...

Don't forget to come back to this one 22, my nights, though not as terrifying as yours are pretty horrible. If you have seen something I would love to know. One can only drink so much Jack Daniels and pop so much Valium to get a nights sleep before ones body starts to suggest it is not a good plan.

I will. Today has not been a good day. My son has had to wake me twice today. So I took an extra dose of amphetamine and got in the floor to play dinosaur with him and kept going in and out. I could hear myself talking but couldn't make any sense out of the things I was saying. I finally yelled for my 17 yr old and begged her to help me...get me up off the floor because I couldn't wake myself up. It's moments like that when I feel so helpless that it makes me feel ashamed and just want to cry.

Hell 22, I wish somehow we could help. No shame to be had, on a scale of 1 to 10 for loving attentive mums you would rate 11.
Your kids know that. They couldn't not know it. :) We all need a hand to get up sometimes, each of us just need it in different ways :) How many times have you extended your hand to give someone a lift. Take your turn. No shame there.

I know. But we all tend to feel this way when we are unable to do things most of us take for granted. You know, if I don't get my meds filled every month, my neurologist will pull my driver license. I have to make sure someone makes sure I am awake to pick up my kids from school. I can't park in a garage or use the stove if home alone. Shit like that. It sucks. But I don't want sit around thinking about it so...eh...on to other things..

Kinda gives me some perspective, well you know your always in our thoughts, doesn't help you at home I know but...
Anyway, like you say, on-wards and upwards.

I think this forum needs a Joke thread. This will be my mission tonight when I get home from work. I warn you all in advance, I have a list of Dad jokes as long as my arm so you will probably laugh at me, not with me. But whatever works :)

So I promised to get back to this thread. Sorry for the delay but I've been having fun walking down memory's haunted lane. :)

I wanted to ask if any of you have had dreams where an image that did not belong to the dream suddenly and forcibly interjected into the dream content? You will note that this new image will be very bright and you'll intuitively feel it doesn't belong. Its kinda like watching a tv show and a 'special announcement' suddenly interrupts the show or the channel is suddenly changed.

You have an excellent thread here 22.
May I say you are very brave and persistent at it.
How many haunted places have you investigated, any ideas?

I'm not entirely sure. As I have been looking through my computer files, I remember places. Some I find files on and others I don't. Some places I have been more than once. I asked Joe Patterson, my mentor I mentioned in another thread, if he could dredge up some of his files as I am missing many of mine. I think they may have been on the PC I had before this one. It's hard for me to recall names and some places had no names. Some were just abandoned places in the middle of nowhere. I will see if I can come up with a count

What's the significance of the image?...

What's the significance of the image?...

I often experience this. When I do, I find that the intrusive content comes from another dreamer nearby. For instance, the other day I was dreaming of something and suddenly my dream content was interrupted by snakes. Just a great big pile of snakes coiling around each other. There was nothing else to this content except that. I intuitively knew that this content did not come from me. That morning when I woke my son for school, he said "Mommy I don't like snakes anymore." I asked him why and he said he was dreaming about snakes in the front yard that were trying to get into the house. Lots of snakes, he said. This sort of thing happens all the time. I don't believe this is anything specific to me...although it may happen more frequently or easily given my fluid states of consciousness. I think this is something specific to the dream state itself. If I am right then others will also have moments of dream telepathy even if they have not had the occasion to validate it.

So it happened again last night. I was dreaming that I was moving from my house and I removed a large picture from the wall and behind the picture were huge holes in the wall such as beetles make in wood. This imagery is very disturbing to me. For some deep psychological reason that I am not aware of, many holes grouped together like a honeycomb makes me physically ill. I get nausea just thinking about it. Anyway, there were pods like sunflower seeds in the holes. They were about palm sized. I was ( ) spraying water from a spray bottle into the holes to flush them out. Then, suddenly, I noticed a reddish brown insect scurrying about within the holes. It was huge being a little bigger than the pods. It was similar to a scorpion but without the stinger. As it came scurrying out of the holes, I knocked it to the floor and trapped it under a bucket. I placed a rock on top so it couldn't escape. At my feet I noticed a red plastic centipede toy that belonged to my son. I left the room and continued packing.

Now, this morning, my son told me he dreamed of a big red brown centipede chasing him through the house. He said we were moving from the house because of the centipede. I asked where we were moving to and he said we were building a new house. It said the dream wasn't all bad because the new house was made of wood and there was a bridge leading to the house (curiously, he doesn't know that I have been looking at moving and building a cabin in the mountains.)

On another note, I had the weirdest episode of sleep paralysis that I have ever experienced yesterday and I have had SP since I was about 8 yrs old. I had dosed off on the couch and then awoke to find myself in the grip of SP. My first reaction was 'fuck' as I knew this one was gonna be a battle. But something was odd. Normally I will have a loud buzzing drone in my ear that is maddening. There was no drone but I began to become aware of a vibration. The vibration intensified. I could feel it in my muscles then bones. It was so intense it felt like every cell was vibrating at a high frequency. I felt it in my teeth. It was so intense that it was extremely painful. Then I was out of it. I have never felt anything like that in my life nor do I ever want to again.

When this vibration was first noticed could you determine if it was originating outside of you or from within?...A few years ago someone told me of something similar but he saw visitors briefly when it stopped...

This other buzzing, is it usually in one ear or both when it occurs?...

It originated inside and felt from a cellular level and on up. Honestly felt like every cell was about to come apart if that makes sense. And it made my teeth hurt.

The drone is inside the head. The whole head. Like a swarm of bees inside my head. Its usually accompanied by a sensation of falling backwards as if there is nothing beneath me. I always have it when there is no 'dream content' during the sleep paralysis. Just blackness.

Interesting.
I wonder just how often this happens with people and they never realize it?

From the age of about 17 to 25 or so I would sometimes be dreaming when suddenly the dream stops and I stat hearing a roar that gets steadily louder and louder until I wake up from the vibration feeling from the roar. I also wake up in a sweat.
